Loved the intro. Have you thought of doing something special for the 75th anniversary of Clue? The dvd game or clue mysteries? Or maybe a tie in with the gene wilder doc on Netflix maybe the golden ticket game?
You both have such fun and awesome personalities and anecdotes to share that this episode was an absolute pleasure for me to watch. It always is, this episode just had something special to me. I started watching because of the Beer & Board Games episode "Partymania" I used to have that game when I was little and it was just a really fun memory and you guys were hilarious. ❤
Jessup tells his wife on the porch that he's planning to do the experiment again in order to prove his theories, and yet how was he hoping to do that, when he next goes into the tank he doesnt have a tape recorder or camera or even a witness with him in the tank room? He didnt even prove anything the two more times he did the experiment (the last time unintentionally).
oh wow.. on a rewatch of this episode: the person who mentioned their idea for the title of the Beetlejuice sequel - well, your wish came true. heh heh
Bob Balaban was the sci fi guy in the late 1970s-early 1980s (Close Encounters, Altered States, 2010). In all three films he plays basically the same character.
This must be a cultural difference because the idea of an "enthusiastic crowd" sounds like my nightmare. If anyone makes noise in the cinema I want to leave immediately
Casa Loma Orchestra was a big deal in the '30s. Also they were organized as a profit-sharing collective, so basically they were their own musician's union.
Wow, THE Claude Thornhill! Seriously though, it's interesting to look up people who were once kinda famous and now not at all. Thornhill was Tony Bennett's musical director later in life. Died young at 56... I read now, in my 55th year....
For plays into movies, I've really been wanting an Avenue Q movie since I originally saw it. Unfortunately, I don't think that'll happen any time soon, if at all, because a lot of the humour is dated and the last R-rated puppet movie, The Happytown Murders, absolutely tanked at the box office. I think I'd like to see a movie version of Tom Stoppard's On The Razzle. The story it's based on has been made into a movie several times (the most famous version being Hello, Dolly!), but I think a film version of Tom Stoppard's play would be a hell of a lot of fun.
well bad to blah audiences made me love the at home at my leisure not annoyed experience over being in a theater. I like to be immersed in a film. not flinching at the other people in the theater. So mileage varies per person.
Matt, I think your experience with The Big Lebowski is pretty common. I hated it the first time I watched it. I gave it another chance and 'got it' the second time. The moment the ferret goes into the bathtub I became a fan. haha
Damn! MF Cookie can Rap!! Nice Voice work Mat. Dont drink and board game err oh yeah right. FYI I still have my 6M D M board game Parker Bros!! Hello from Canada.
Oh man... I thought I was the only unfortunate kid to have owned this dreadful board game as a kid. lol Loved the dopey show back then, but this game is trash.
There was a failed attempt at a similar show before this, using the same character. Jamie Sommers was bitten by a rat, and she became the Bubonic Woman. The show was plagued with script problems.
