I have the same hairtype as you do only my curls are just a bit more culier. You have helped me alot!!!! And I think it turned out pretty good! But i do like the duffuseing better
I would suggest no to bc it’s most likely gonna damage your hair by a lot 😭 especially since you just dyed it too. Maybe you can do some kind of heatless style? like do a hairstyle instead or heatless curls maybe? But totally i understand wanting to straighten your hair for a special day - i used to do the same ☹️

To everyone worrying about unusual hair fall: my doctor told me that it’s usually a result of stress on the body or can be an illness. I forgot the exact explanation but the stress/illness from 4 months ago weakened your follicles or roots and your hair will fall after it grew out. Based on experience, whenever I get stressed from exams or get viral infection I would look out for hair fall 4 months later and it appears to be true.
THANK YOU PATTY! Watched your video twice, understood it, actually got the hang of it on the second braid, then went back and re-did the first braid!!! I was previously able to do dutch braids that go down the "sides" of my head, but always wanted to learn how to do the ones that go down the BACK of the head! I also never actually knew how to START any style of dutch braid, as in which direction to cross the strands first, and also didn't know that the whole "picking up hair" thing needed to start right away... I always did a plain braid for the first few crosses, then started picking up hair thereafter... no wonder those heatless waves always looked stupid at the front when I took the braids out... LMAO!!! This was my first try for this method, so I didn't fuss too much with the sectioning or tension. My braids are slightly loose and not entirely uniform, but I'm not bothered by that in the slightest because they look relaxed and beachy right now. AND they're going down the back of my head instead of the sides, so I'm SUPER HAPPY!!! I'm certain with practice it will improve! I found it easier to "not look" after I got through the first initial crossings as well lol. Btw, I did look at a few other tutorials over a year ago, and they were either confusing or painful for my neck and shoulders, so I stopped trying. THIS tutorial was TOTALLY DOABLE though!!! Thanks again for such an EPIIIIIIIC tutorial! Fawn 😊🩷 EDIT: it's the next morning, took out the braids, and the heatless waves are absolutely gorgeous!!! This is the first time in my life that I got noce looking heatless waves from dutch braids... SOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!! 😍😍😍
