Hi, I'm Sarah, and I love all things Disney! I'm a 39-year-old mom married with two boys ages 13 and 10.
In 2017 we took our family to Disneyland for one day and were hooked! Now we have gone on several Disney Cruises, to the Disney Galactic Starcruiser, and to Disney World multiple times. We are Disney World annual passholders and DVC members, and I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks along the way!
I would love for you to follow along as I plan, prep, and document our Disney travels!
What kind of hooks did you use for the wall in your room ? I hate clutter, I don’t like things on the floor so I love how you used the wall for additional space.
Oh yes, they are so helpful! Below are the links to the two kinds I use. I would recommend the heavy duty ones over the smaller ones because the smaller ones can’t hold very much (items have to be very lightweight). We like to have room service delivery, on your last FULL day. This you can get some juice, milk, cereal and refrigerated the cold items. This way we have a quick breakfast in our room without hauling our luggage around or holding up the room attendant. Thanks for sharing 🤗 Happy Sailing🚢⚓️❤

Just wondered about seating request, we are a family of 4 and would ideally like a table to ourselves, however I’ve added the request to be ‘near a screen’ as I’m thinking that will be fun for the Crush interactive part at animators palette, ( Disney Dream). Do you think I should swap it for seating alone? Thanks xx
Thank you!! We have never not made the private table request so I’m not sure how likely it will be that you are paired with another family. I just know it can happen. I do think it is awesome to be near the screens so if I were you I would probably have my travel agent (or if you don’t have one then you can call Disney cruise I think) to see if I could get both requests added since on the app you have to pick just one!
We did the screen request and it was good, but we were with another family. We chatted a bit but thankfully we and the other family kept to ourselves the majority of the time. This time though we booked a private table for September. Looking forward to see how that’s like.

How do you get your child set up for a chat ? We will be cruising in September and my kids will be 11. I tried to figure out if there was a way for them to have an account for just the chat but i couldn't figure out a way how lol .
Great question! I was worried about this our first time but they make it super easy. Your kids do not need their own account! There is nothing to do ahead of time other than make sure the Disney cruise line app is downloaded on their device. Once you are on the ship’s wifi, the app will look different and the first thing it will ask you to do is link your stateroom. You just follow the steps after that. Kids under 13 do need a pin from the primary adult on the reservation to allow them to chat. Tap the child’s name in the app on the adult’s phone to obtain the pin. Your kids can then enter this pin on their app and start chatting. If you approve, they can also chat with any friends they make in the clubs. But yes nothing you can do now other than download the app. I hope you have a great cruise!
Thank you!!! we usually have our travel agent make the request when we book the cruise or add it on later. They are able to do that for you. Or if you don’t have a travel agent, you can call. But actually, they have a new feature in the Disney cruise app that makes it much easier. If you go into your reservation there is something called ‘review your cruise options’ and they have 6 different steps they walk you through where you confirm your dining time, etc. The last one, step 6, is special requests and you can request table options including private table on that last step!

@@stephenthompson439flies have never been a problem for us at castaway cay, but I’ve heard that the other private Disney destination lookout cay has an issue with flies that hopefully they figure out!
I haven’t had any issues when I cruise more than any other travel. I use the H2O branded lotion Disney provides in your stateroom but you could bring your own lotion and skin care if you have some you prefer that works well for you.

@@HaleyFlood-fo1llunfortunately it isn’t usually on the shop disney website! 😢Usually you can only find it on castaway cay. Sometimes I think they sell leftover merchandise at the Disney outlets in Florida but not sure how often it pops up there!

The quality of the video is wonderful! You must have a very good camera. I think that Disney should use some of your vlog for marketing. Also, the music you chose was thoughtful and appropriate. AND, that is the best lobster tail presentation I have seen - that 's a lot of lobster! ...and the chocolate milk in the background☺

My wife and I just got back from a 7 day on the Fantasy and have been sick for a week with no sense of taste or smell. COVID? They were wiping and handing out wipes like crazy, I thought it was strange. Nothing like this on Royal Caribbean in November.
Oh gosh I’m sorry you got sick! We have been lucky after our cruises and haven’t gotten sick but I know it happens sometimes. Were they handing out wipes in places other than the dining rooms and theaters? If so, I would find that very interesting! Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@sarahburton5 No, only in those areas you mentioned. We had been on Wonder in November with none of the push to hand out wipes, nor the crew cleaning surfaces like Disney was doing. Fantasy was a beautiful cruise save this unfortunate development.
@@Teacher659interesting! I wonder if the ships do it a little differently! We’ve never been on the Wonder. that is how they’ve always done it on the Fantasy the 3 times we have been on it. I’m so sorry you got sick!
For edge - it depends how many kids there are in that age group if there isn’t as many in the edge age range then they will allow kids to age up ( from 10 ), but you can never age down
Thanks! That is really helpful! Richard was wondering if that made a difference that we didn’t go that first day because then they knew how many kids were registered for edge. I wasn’t sure if it made a difference or not. I will say we were on a full spring break cruise with lots of kids that were edge age so I wonder how many times they actually have too many in the edge age range to allow the 10 year olds to age up if that wasn’t a problem for us. So hopefully that means the chances are pretty good. But good point I guess not a guarantee. Thanks again for watching and commenting!!
Great Vlog, so informative! We have the same style, I loved your choices from the gift store. A couple of questions.. Would you stay at La Quinta Inn again? Do you recommend Away We Go Transporters for the transfer from the airport to Cocoa Beach? thank you :)We are heading over from Australia in 2025 for our April cruise, planning on staying for a few days in Cocoa Beach pre-cruise.
Oh thank you!!! Yes I would stay there again. I loved the location. Although when we booked a lot of the hotels were already full so if you book your hotel early there might be some other great options that are even better that we didn’t look at. This hotel was good and clean and had a great location with walking distance to the pier and the beach. But it not super fancy and it is a motel style where the door to your room is accessed from outside. We have used away we go transportation many times and yes I would recommend them! I’m sure you could take an Uber and it would be less expensive but for a longer drive and all our luggage we liked using away we go in this situation. It worked out great. Great Vlog... The kids stealing the pin's was a issue on our last cruise as well and many people were so upset. Am glad they finally cracked down on that! What the boys do and what activities did they participate in? Curious for our teen kiddo.
Oh no! Yes it was so disappointing on our last cruise but glad it was better this time at least! Our teen would hang out at edge where they would did things like karaoke, video game challenges, or ice breakers. They would also meet up and go play basketball at the sports deck or get food/ice cream or go to a movie in the theatre or go on the slide!
Great vlog! We just did the Wish and stayed at La Quinta the night before as well! We got beyond lucky and there was a rocket launch that night! I look forward to more content!

We used Away We Go Transporters the day before to take us from the airport to the hotel. Then on embarkation day we used Uber for the 10-minute drive from the hotel to the port and they just dropped us off. I’ve never rented a car to get to the port so sorry I’m not much help with that process! Thanks for watching and commenting!
We don’t always go to the sail away party anymore. This was our 6th Disney cruise and our 3rd time on the fantasy so we had already seen it and wanted to watch from our balcony. But if you have never seen it I would recommend going! And we will probably watch it sometimes now just not every time. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@sarahburton5 we have been cruising since 2003. Skipped a few years but our child who is now an adult….loves cruising! We have been DVC since 2001 and own at Wilderness, Beach Club, Bay Lake and 2 at Saratoga🎈🎈🎈💜💜
