This Channel is a bastion for fans of the graphic medium to come and maybe find out about comics and graphic novels that are a little off the beaten path! Movie and Anime fans are also welcome as I am planing to do more videos in the AV vein!
I've purchased Cover the Dead with Lime, Permadeath, and Never by Night by Jonathan Chance. So good! He's a good dude, too. Loved Critters and Ghoulies as a kid, though I never sat the same on a toilet for a while, lol.
So it is only for streaming? I would love to hit up a midnight show one day for this. "...the micro-budget sphere of comic book movie making..." -good call Vandal... Good, I have been waiting for a new "era" of comics, so maybe this will then usher in a new era of low budget indie books, self published ? I have no idea how anything works any more, it seems like it is all centralized and rigged in all ways now,...so before they sell-out the indie deals are to be sought after I suppose..., like bootlegged versions, unofficial reads / flicks...
@@derekfreeman1942it’s more of an in depth discussion than a review, plus we usually do a check in to shout out what we’ve been watching & or reading. thx for the listen, appreciate it!
What up, yall!? I just think showing more images while discussing the book is helpful, visually stimulating counterpart to the convo, or show the guest illustrating while they are talking if the are willing, or show concept art as well... Im not much of a podcat follower sorry! lol! My bad! So thought I would drop a request but zall gud thanks.. Peace That Sienkiewicz homage work is sik
@@SequentialGeek in this case the only stuff from the book he had done I showed on the show, he only had a 7 page preview for the book at the time, and it's his first book, so the only other stuff he had was Instagram art
Johnny just brought it to my attention that Brian Taylor is directing this movie, can’t believe we didn’t talk about this. Love the Crank movies & also loved SIFY’s Happy! series which was a great adaptation of Grant Morrison book, so having Taylor at the helm is a huge selling point for me.
That trailer looks good, man -if the bar was not so low in entertainment the past twenty-five years now w/reality TV and globalization centralized to a handful of companies, sh!!!!!!t then that'd trailer be more mediocre w/a cool indie vibe...
First off Im not a fan of Robert Eggers films, so that definitely wouldn’t sell me on the movie if he were involved. From what the trailer shows it stays fairly faithful to the source material with a few minor changes, there weren’t any jump scares in the trailer so not sure where you got that from. The mood & atmosphere in the trailer definitely echos that of The Crooked Man storyline so I’m optimistic that it’ll be a good film. As for The Crow, the first movie is obviously great so that’s stating the obvious & I won’t condemn a film that hasn’t even been released yet just because the previous one was “brilliant” ill give the new entry the opportunity to stand on it’s own merit & hopefully it does well & James O’Barr gets a nice kickback from it.
Jeezaaaz I wish I had watched this last night instead of all the money I spent partying just for this shitty post chem recovery Im sitting in sh!!!!t wow, yall an inspiration . I love this cat's artwork, Ive seen his ragz around thems a'ite. I love the run of artists in general yall have been interviewing, this stuff a'ri'chir tho got some sik details in all it, love the dynamic kinetics like in the foreshortening ...does he have any Fiffe influences maybe, or they just have the same take on layouts I dont know looks similar in a way? -let me know if you think Im off on that... But now that Catalan's getn his name out, he's sayn how he's got all those commissions, I swear to g0d Im soo fukn jealous these guys made some good life decisions eh lol! And this guy seems pretty young, so like he says, he's developing some graphic design experience, I hope he stays in comics...
AARRGGHHH oh no .. commenter down "WARRENREIDsingersongwriter" Quick Someone Dial; Whine 11 we have a casualtit Get a Wah'mbulance here pronto !! Ya know? I got the JAMC once .. But with penicillin or 2 and no alcohol for a week or so the JAMC went away never to be heard of again.
Who cares Matt?….I actually think it’s the best song on the soundtrack myself and the Cure song second..👌 but people like you could never get the JAMC anyway…it takes all sorts I suppose.
I mean the cover's colors alone work the elegant composition for that Big Game Saga book, but I suppose these online crowdfunding gigs is where it's at, cuz I have not seen Uriko or Nerida until now, those look nice, some magical line work. Thank you again GV for the dope recommendations. The running through the forest panels w/the shadows, yes, "classy".
@@GraphicVandalism731 aint that'boutta bitx g0d algorithm muthfukaz lol thanks for hitting me back cuz gotta say, thank you for hat Precious Metal rec, yet the work in that Bear Pirate deal is outta ste! Peace
I really gotta check out this Fallout series. I've heard good things. Also, I'm a comic creator and I would love to come on the show sometime if you'd have me.
Freddy’s incompetence was established right from the start so it was consistent throughout the series so I enjoyed it. Jimmy’s character was a little too stereotypical of the stoner archetype for my liking.
@@00joepocket i think what I meant to say maybe was that the grow sites were a billion dollar endeavor ran by a sophisticated criminal organization, and the idea that either of those morons would survive ANY of the fuckups they did, let alone get within 100 yards of the operation, AFTER a fuckup, is laughable. I get that it’s a tv show, so there has to be a little suspension of disbelief….but cmon man.
Great episode, I can’t wait to see the Gentleman, and I’m looking even more forward to it now! Thanks for the FONO shout out too-I agree, that you and Saint in particular brought a lot of substance to our discussion of “Quiet on Set.” So glad to be affiliated with you, on and off the air. 😊
Man, I would put those super kewl images in the center and yall off to the side,... but you dont wanna show the cover so people can remember it,... nope, lol! We see Vandal's design (as cool as it is tho rite) for your channel pic, more than we see Lolacher art rite,...ohhhh! Psyched for this I Hate The Mourning book's campaign, all the best to you all and the indie creators you promo.
If his art teaching to kids is holding him back with his private work -wtf, ...thats harsh... sh!t has been all about writing people up for violations, warnings, for 'interfering', banning people, muting, blocking,... Maybe if he had men that identified as women who 'won' swimming scholarships on the cover, they'd let him do that then?
That is alot of work to balance family/friends and work and then make a comic, fukn aye, and I believe yall when you say Lolacher is the saner of the creators you have met lol!
