DP by a mile. It's musicality is something a spec sheet can't describe. EVERY time I didn't care for the sound while reading comments, I'd scroll up and sure enough it was the Volante. Something is objectively wrong with either Strymon's DSP or their audio circuits; they seem to all ring with a rank overtone(s), more or less. It's as though the unit is microphonic!
Thanks for the demo, btw ! I'm gonna snag a Boonar to put next to my Nemesis, H9, DC-2W, Rubberneck and JR Clockwork (w/ a Gibson DigitalEchoplex and RE-301 in/on the studio rack).
Hello again. Let's say i want to add a compressor before the delay just to make the signal louder, how do I do it? Input 1,2 to compressor, compressor to delay, delay to out 1,2. Thank you
You treat it just like a signal chain. Input --> Compressor --> Delay --> Output. If you're doing mono to stereo your input would be Input 1 and your outputs would be 1/3 or whatever outputs you are using. The delay block has a level, you can also use a VCA (Voltage Control Amplifier) to increase the volume.
@@iosifkalpaktsoglou2045 Correct, the way I described above would be parallel. If you wanted to do series on the delays you'd do Input --> Compressor --> Delay1 --> Delay 2 --> Output(s)
@TriPedalReviews the delay I I used as an example. I want to add a compressor or something to make granular louder( clouds by Mutable instruments) . I want to add it before it in series not parallel.
dude I just happened to find your channel looking for a review of the tc 2290 pedal which by the way was awesome, but if you want to add a ton of people to your subscribers lets do a tutorial on the Boss SDE 3000 EVH pedal, make it simple and maybe do it like a 6 part series. I want to buy this pedal but they made so complicated to use.
It's the same company, I could be wrong, but my take on it is "Black LTD" is what they use for limited run pedals. The Phaser Vibe I demo'ed a few weeks back was also labled Black LTD and they did a limited number of them. But that's just a guess. Just confirmed this with this URL: www.mrblackpedals.com/collections/black-ltd
This pedal is amazing, and kudos for the Big Muff into it. Love the synth-like tones. The PX-101 + expression pedal seems also very good for natural-sounding volume swells!
Great video! I apologize if this was covered as I was listening through headphones at work, but, in comp mode, are both "wet" lines summed to a single input in mono, or is that second one only available in stereo?
There is an audible difference between the two modes in mono. So whether you run mono or stereo there will still be variation between the modes there. I didn't demo mono in this demo, so you wouldn't have caught that. I did try it on my own afterwards though.
@@eBagJones I put in my vote for him to do more so others can have one. Anyone that wants one, make sure you are signed up to their mailing list as members usually get first crack at batches when they are released.
Timestamps in the description for hopping around as usual. If you want to hear it in mono go here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AmUjPZJSXqc.html
I explained to a buddy what the hum actually is , the tone is caused by the 60hz duty cycle of the AC power we have in North america. In the UK they have a 50hz cycle therefore the tone is lower by 10hz.
Picking a tremolo pedal was hard for me to decide on. First it was the MXR tremolo, then the Flint, then the Hydra, then the Walrus Monumental. Finally decided on the Flint.
Had a similar struggle with it. I tried a bunch and liked the Flint best, but didn’t need the reverb so it seemed like too expensive of an option for just the trem. Currently using the slightly cheaper Hydra, but still kind of always on the hunt for the best trem.
Also, is there any user group that anybody is aware of… Tc is not really good at getting back at users so I guess it’s up to us to be able to deal with any anomalies
This trem is choppier, which optical trems tend to be and those are my least favorite type of trem. My preference is a smoother sweep bias trem or harmonic, so this one I didn't have strong feelings for. It's ok.
Good lord, this app makes me feel stupid. I’m sorry if everyone else knows this, but I’m trying to do a very simple thing: remove that awful vinyl skip sound *from the pedal default*-not create a preset without it. Is this possible? When I edit “Vinyl (Default Settings)” in Neuro, it only lets me save a new preset.
I did a Video Manual for the LVX that covers the Sequencer and looping. Check the timestamps in the description for hopping around. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-odw3g_n9KNY.html
Top 5 is a hard one because there are so many great ones and there is a wide range of types of lofi (Vinyl, Tape, Radio, Glitching, Digital etc...) So this is giving a broad consideration to the various types. Artifakt - Best all arounder, most utility, community involvement, presets. Sounds great and does a lot more than lofi. Does the most with signal dropouts, creative and unique ideas that other Lofi pedals haven't tackled. It's a good blend of fixed options and a modular approach that is more accessible than pedals like Beebo or Zoia. Chase Bliss Gen Loss MKII - I've had every Gen Loss version and the newest iteration is the one I'd choose over all of them, it's great for tape style lofi and has lots of interesting aux functions. Stereo functionality is awesome. Kinotone Ribbons - Very imaginative in it's creation, Jaak listens to the community and updates based on requests, along with whatever whacky stuff they come up with. It sounds awesome and is inspirational. Stereo functionality is also awesome. While the interface is a tad convoluted, it's not too bad once you learn it. Chase Bliss Lossy - Wasn't a fan at first, but it's a very unique idea and is the first pedal to tackle digital artifacts from MP3 conversion, and somehow made that crappy sound pleasing to listen to and mess around with. It has grown on me. CopilotFX Anchorman - For radio its a toss up for me between Artifakt and this pedal, but since I've already mentioned artifakt, I'd go with this one. It's the first pedal I've seen to incorporate actual radio and control of those aspects via a pedal and it's just fun af to play around with.
@@andreascomissiong9288 If my list was limited to vinyl style top 5, Tefi would be in there. My 2 favorite in that specific style are the Melusine V4 and Golden Era. But, most of the more recent lofi pedals that have come out do both Vinyl and Tape, both Melusine and GE are limited to just vinly. I believe you mentioned noise specifically, and that pedal has noise you can't dial out. The newer version might have solved that problem though. Don't know as I haven't picked it up and probably wont due to owning the GE already.
@@TriPedalReviews yea for me personally I’m looking for a pedal that has the best wow , flutter, warped vibrato sounds. Some pedals I’ve tried before didn’t have it to the intensity I like so between the kinotone ribbons and the golden era / Malinconia which one do you think takes the cake for that sound specifically ?
@@andreascomissiong9288 You wont have issues with intensity on either one, they'll both go sea sicker than you'll ever need. I'd suggest taking a listen to the Wow/Flutter sections on my Golden Era demo and then this demo for the ribbons and see which one appeals to your more. Ribbons had a firmware update that modified the wow/flutter behavior from this video, which in my opinion was a great improvement. I don't have a favorite between the two in that regard. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o9jLmbCNclc.html
