Today I introduce you to Nixie Version 2 and run through how to load your own IR files onto the MX. I also go into details on lessons I've learned along the way. I do ramble a bit in this video, so if you want to get straight to the point, skip to 05:51. Timestamps below for jumping around.

Another note, is if you are actively importing while using the pedal, in order to see the new folders you have imported you need to force a refresh by going out of the folder you are currently in, then back into it.

Just a note I found on a forum from Strymon regarding the amount of IRs you can load into the BSMX: “It is best to keep the IR management on BigSky MX at a maximum of 60 folders that contain a maximum of 50 IR files each. The BigSky MX firmware may not be able to handle too many IRs within a single folder, so it is best to stay within these limits. Our documentation and software will be updated to reflect these limits”

Hi I import bricasti IR on the bigsky but when I increase the mix, the sound become weird like two sound superposed with just few millisecondes between each one.

Latency I was told from strymon is 1ms. Play with pre delay on the bricasti irs.

Nixie 2 won't recognize my BigSky MX. I've used Nixie 2 successfully with several other Strymon pedals.

Wait so nixie 2 is not a full fledged editor? I thought it was ready to go for mx. big reason i was going to finally jump on the mx when i heard about the editor. You can’t tweak params in real time then?

Nope, Nixie 2 isn't finished yet. You can back up your presets and load IR's. Editing features aren't built into it yet for the MX.

@@joeymc5272Given the message in the editor itself and that it's in their best interests to have it behave as Nixie V1 did, I'd say it's a sure bet it's in the works. But never count on something being there until it is. I was a bit put off knowing editing wasn't a thing on the computer right off the bat. But it gave me an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the pedal, which weren't hard to pick up IMO. Even naming is pretty easy. But having an editor would still be very nice :) When they do include it, it'll be nice to be able to edit without Midi to USB. I'm sure they'll be releasing updated versions of the Timeline and Mobius as well, which hopefully are quickers adopters of Nixie 2 editing.
