Channel dedicated to exploring Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, add-in planes, scenery, and virtual aviation shenanigans. Simply sharing a passion for aviation and history. This RU-vid channel is also home for 2DogzDesigns. Our customized airfields and airports are available on Flightsim.to.
We love all types of aircraft but we have a strong pull toward General Aviation aircraft, vintage warbirds, and helicopters. We are committed to helping freeware developers in the community to get their work recognized and seen by a larger audience. It may be a labor of love, but we can also show some love with a donation to assist with the continued work.
It's strange because I can see trim tabs on the elevators that seem to have a negative setting but at not time has there been any indication of a trim percentage shown in the external view's flight information... Does this plane have a working trim adjustment? Thanks for the video Rich
we're working toward liveries as a part of our bag of tricks but there is quite a learning curve. I agree with you, but until then, we are using what we have.
Thank you for the nice video. However, that duxford PBY livery is ugly beyond words both in real life and in the sim. Moreover, I would have hoped that the PBY interior would have been like an original PBY not like the, again, exceptionally ugly duxford bird. No disrespect to the volunteers that keep her flying, but, good god, she is objectively ugly (especially the real one with the "sunglass shade" blisters).
Im glad that you enjoyed the video. I was happy to see a clip this morning of Miss Pick Up at the Duxford Battle of Britain airshow taking place this weekend. I guess beauty of liveries is in the eye of the beholder. Its quite amazing to have flying examples of this aircraft regardless of paint job. Please join us for future videos and if you enjoyed it, please subscribe to the channel. We're on a mission to 500 subs! Cheers
Thanks to Franco and Bryan. Appreciate the feedback on the volume settings. after watching the remainder of the video , they are much better! Thanks to everyone for being here for this first live stream. enjoy the aircraft. Its definitely sim worthy!
I think the landing lights have to have this on before they will work position "ATTER" (=Atterrissage), landing lights are allowed. Yes it works when set to ATTER. Thanks for streaming this plane...it's really a nice addition to the hanger! In VR it really shows up well. Unfortunately, the lower resolution of RU-vid videos does not do it justice. There are some polygons as you said and it would work better visually if it were dirtied up a bit, you know, look used. Also, I was able to start the engines using the compressed air method which is a bit tricky but a lot of fun once you figure it out! So really...everything works that I have tried. I have not tired the fire suppression yet but will give it go soon. As to the flight model, in my opinion it is very good. At first, it's a bit to work at it...I did like 15 circuits around the airport and by the 10th one I had a great feel for the way it handles. if you understand how to fly these older planes with the massive lift they have from the giant wings they are a joy. You really have to go back to the basics of pitch and throttle control to work the lift, coordinate turns with the rudder, let it fly off the runway and fly it onto the runway. Set the right configuration for climb and it just nicely and comfortable climbs almost unnoticeable. Set cruise configuration and she soars nicely along. It would be nice if there were some liveries for it..and maybe they can release a paint kit for that. Bravo to the developers...you can tell it is a plane they really respect.
I've always been fascinated by the history of aviation. I do not own MSFS 2020, however once I get myself a proper rig, I will buy MSFS 2024. I just wanna jump into some vintage plane and fly around the world with it, ngl.
I had forgotten how much I love flying this bird.. People are going to get sick of seeing this one on group flights. LOL As a teaser for everyone, we're hard at work on a little airfield for the Cactus Airforce in a little place to the Northwest. Cheers!
I have been thinking about the Jug but have been hesitant because the developer is not on my Christmas Card list after the way they came at AvAngel after she did a review of the Hurricane. I did look at and almost bought the piston Duke this morning. The only thing holding me back is 2024 and how that will all shake out after the release. I do have to give Asobo creds for the great job they did in the UK with WU18. Thanks and have a great week! -Mike
I think there was some previous history on that front . ;). My experience with AH has been straight to the point and factual interaction. I pushed at them hard over the AAF markings. It was an issue with Asobo and Microsoft not taking care of business, IMHO, and not AH. They were very patient in helping me understand the issues around licensing and livery issues. Take Care, Mike.
I just saw this plane at the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum today. I basically got to go into the showroom to look at my wishlist of aircraft in person. The 2 DC-6 president aircraft, the smell in the cockpit was fantastic. Thanks for sharing. -Mike
Cool. That museum is on my bucket list. I’ll include a link to the society page for the aircraft and some video oh her at duxford. It’s a ton of fun to fly
I just seen this non boring funny flight, scary as well....in Mexico...you and your 47 subscribers will love it. PS: not spam. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xuSkSuOhOBk.html I would love to fly with y'all and reproduce this flight lol.
I was going to go to Bern this morning but they hadn't dropped the update by then so I did a review on BBD new airport Squamish Airport in Canada. They just dropped it today too. Boy this scenery is the bomb! I heard in some of the cities resolution is 3 inches. When I was in Glasgow, I got a bunch of comments about folks finding their homes in the sim.
Much appreciate all of the views on this video. Its a great aircraft! Please like and SUBSCRIBE! Let us know in the description below what you'df like to see upcoming Simworthy Shakedowns!
I remember my Grandparents taking me to the Smithsonian when I was a very small boy. I was facinated with the airplane...almost as much as I was smitten with the Mercury capsule they had on display. This one has a special place in my heart.
Perhaps we'll see this evolve in much the way the Cessna 206H and the Boeing C-17 have improved and evolved.. We're going to give it a go on our Warbird Wednesday flight and have a bit of fun. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing this. I did a couple episodes with it when it came out and after 1st update. I saw AvAngel’s preview of it yesterday and have been waiting for it to be released. Thanks again and be well! -Mike
Nice video! I was surprised to see that the GTN750 didn't appear when you selected it. I try very hard to catch all the bugs before release, so it pains me to see when something doesn't work correctly. There is a limit to the space available and it won't let you add more instruments than the space allows. But please don't donate to me. I do this for fun and to be able to make exactly the aircraft that I like. Sharing it with everyone else doesn't cost me a thing. But seeing videos of people flying my planes really makes me happy. 😃
This has become my favorite plane. Maybe its the sounds but theres something really special about it. Devs should be proud. Can you check if the fuel flow gauge should be that 1:1 with the throttle? Does it move that fast in real life?
Im enjoying the process. Glad you are enjoying the output. Hoping to continue to improve as we go. There is soooooo much to talk about. Im concentrating on historical / quirky aircraft for the moment and trying to spread some sunshine on folks who publish on flightsim.to.
The birthplace of powered flight is perfectly acceptable and realistic and grass wasn't my driving criteria for selecting a departure location. I could have taken off near the markers, but that didnt seem to be respectful. Cheers
I have both and I have to say I like the 206 better. I think it is easier on frame rate and better ground handling. I have seen this in the past with Coranado aircraft. I have the 182 and the twin beech which both have ground handling issues as well. Off to Sandown to do a first look at the new airport from Burning Blue and see the World Update for the British Isles. Thanks a bunch for sharing!
my pleasure. I just published two videos on the world update as a quick look. London looks so much better. Of course, I also had to take a run through the Mach Loop. Cheers
@@FlyingDogHouse I just published my first look at Sandown Airport on the Isle of Wight by BBD. I have two codes for this airport that I am raffling off if you are interested. This airfield combined with the World Update and things look incredible on the island. I did a fly over Ely and it too looks much better but the Cathedral is still backwards. My wife wasn't happy about that as we spent a week in Ely. I am really happy with the direction the sim is headed.
Isn't this a great aircraft! It meets the book numbers and handles well. Oh yeah... It's FREE!!!! I only wish it could get some traction with the livery developer community. I did a first look and follow up after he released an update. 👍
Huge fan of period airfields and aircraft. I just downloaded the scenery. It is close to Duxford as well as Old Warden and Turweston to name a few. I fly a lot in the UK and a good portion of my content is period military with the Spit, P-38 and the haulers like the DC-3 and C-46. I gave you a sub and I hope you don't mind my using this airfield in my content. That said, please have a great summer and keep up the good work as I am enjoying your content. 👍
Absolutely. It Debden was a labor of love for me as a "pay it forward" to all of my friends in the UK, and in honor and remembrance of my relatives that served in the 8th Air Force. Its important to remember. Im currently working on Stoney Cross. As far as using the scenery in your videos, we are humbled and honored with the ask. Of course, please enjoy. I have also sub'd to your channel as well. Cheers and Enjoy!
Now, i need to fix the voice so that it doesn't sound like an AM radio... :). We all start from somewhere. Appreciate the view. Please like and subscribe
Thanks, Bryan. Im going to dig into the Corsair and Hurricaine as opportunities for deep dive and prep for future Warbird Wednesday and Historic Aircraft series group flights over ar VirtualflightOnline. For those of you unaware, the airline is awesome with tours, many routes, and lots of aircraft to choose from to break out of the same old same old. Link: airline.virtualflight.online/
Many thank to folks working to make the Group Flights happen at Virtual Flight Online. There are many opportunities each week with different aircraft to come together and fly. There is also a awesome Virtual Airline with many routes, tours, and aircraft to experience. Its a great international community of flight simulation folks! Cheers
