Hi ! Great video ! I once had a powershot, but never shot in “P” mode, I had a SX 100 and I bought it, among other things, because of full manual control. Now I decided to return to shooting on powershots, but I noticed that cameras without a full manual mode are often cheaper and less worn out. My question is this: is it possible to achieve everything I need from the “P” mode only with the exposure compensation? Let's say I really liked shooting at long shutter speeds and in full manual mode it's easy, but wouldn't "P" limit the maximum shutter speed to one second or so ? Or is there some special “night mode” that unlocks long shutter speeds, but will this mode give me control over ISO or exposure compensation? And one more question, how does the “p” mode work with the aperture? The fact is that diffraction is breathing in the back of these cameras and, by and large, there is no point in closing the aperture until there is a not to much light. f/4 for 1/2.5 cameras is already something like f/22 for Full Frame. Does this "P" mode understand this or it can close the aperture even when there is a still a possibility to reduce shutter speed ?? Thank you.
Thanks for the video I just got my first camera and it was this. I hope I can get into photography cause it’s one of my dreams. I also need some tips as a beginner could u make a video about it?
I like the old A series of Canon cameras, especially the ones that take AA batteries... fact is I like most cameras that take standard AA batteries. Never have to worry about proprietary batteries or lost chargers. The only thing is remember to remove batteries if camera is not used for a long time.
I had the RX100m3 wayback 2017 and all its photos are still relevant now. I've had a D750, A6400, XT-3, D7200 cameras before, they all have been replaced over and over again but the RX100 is the last one to go. Rx100 is a very good point and shoot, you can just wear it in your neck and forget about it until you need it, specially if you have kids where DSLR is already hassle to bring. They say the best camera is the one you have in your hand at that moment, but in reality we don't bring a DSLR because its too big and you need to store it inside the bag from time to time.
Hi! I like your site - it's informative and straightforward. I don't have an ELPH 100, but an ELPH 135 that won't focus when I press the shutter button down half-way (I hear a click instead). The focusing servo doesn't kick in. It happens on auto-, or manual focus. Really frustrating! Is there a part I can check or replace to fix it? Thanx for any insight
I am addicted to your videos. I love what you do for these old cameras. IMO it is more fun and creative using antiquated cameras vs our smart phone. Smart phones go obsolete whereas these cameras in theory can last forever. I prefer to make memories with older cameras. The hp camera I bought from you on eBay will be going on my Alaska trip this August.
I absolutely love watching your channel! Love watching the mystery of weather or not the cameras will work. I am thinking of buying one of your cameras for the sole purpose of unboxing it and giving your channel a shout out.
@@pricklypearcamera thanks so much. I’m really enjoying your camera videos. As somebody who loves older cameras I find what you do awesome. If it is ok with you I’m going to give you a shout out in a live stream.
If you experience any adverse reactions after handling leaking batteries, such as skin irritation, eye irritation, or if you suspect ingestion or inhalation of the leaked substances, seek medical attention immediately.
Thank you for this video. I just got my wife this camera because she's always wanted her own dslr. This video has eliminated the need to search for lenses that will work. Thank you!
Hi! I have an R6 and an Rp, but I wanna buy this camera for the size. I wanna use it for hiking, street, travel photos(I don t want to carry my full frame gear everyday). What do you think about it? I don t find any raw of it. I wanna saw some result. It can be used for everyday?
Thank you for this video. I am wanting to move from an 80d to an R7 but the thought of my EFS lenses being useless was making me cringe. Now I can get the R7 and use my favourite EFS lenses!
Thank you for the video-I was in the market for a new camera body upgrade from my T3 until I was advised my money was better spent on upgrading my lenses. Can you recommend a good lens for wildlife photography? I live in Florida and would like something with crisp detail and good zoom capability. Thank you!
I’m thinking about buying a Nikon 60D with a Nikon AF-S DX 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED lens for about 85 dollars. Would this be a good purchase? Or would you recommend anything else.
A nikon D60 with an 18-70mm for about $85 USD is right about exactly or just shy of where the market price is for that kit, so I would say it's a fair price. Any idea of the shutter count? It's pretty easy to check, just google D60 shutter count and there are a few options that are free I think. I enjoy shooting with the D60. Just like the Rebel XT, the autofocus is a bit limited, but I've seen some great pro level shots out of the D60.
@@fanoffans5467 Ok, I think the shutter expectation on the D60 is around 75-100k, so should have quite a bit of life left on it. That's right in the average range for the Nikon D60's I've used. (I've sold over 100 in the last 5 years).
T3i has been my first and only camera for so long (more than a decade) and I have used it to the max, thousands and thousands of photos, especially when I started my focus on street photography. I still use it till today and it held up in my last trip as well! will finally get a new camera by the end of the year but I have to say thank you for your service!
I have a canon power shot a530. Every time I turn it on the camera extends out goes back in, and extends out again. Then it says lens error, restart camera. But no matter how many times I restart or change the batteries it keeps doing the same thing.
Definitely an issue, and unfortunately, lens errors are some of the hardest things to fix from my experience. Sometimes in rare cases it's just a tiny particle that's causing it to get stuck and a gently tap with the camera on can dislodge it, but most of the time it's a mechanical issue that is above my pay grade to fix. Sorry
Bummed out. Had one of these sitting around from my mom, turned the camera on and got hit with “lens error, reset camera”. Can’t find anything on the canon website saying how to reset camera/fix lens when it’s off
Sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, lens errors are some of the hardest things to fix from my experience. Sometimes in rare cases it's just a tiny particle that's causing it to get stuck and a gently tap with the camera on can dislodge it, but most of the time it's a mechanical issue or caused by the camera getting dropped/etc.
Thank you for the great review! I currently own a canon powershot sx540 and considering a upgrade to the sx70. Can you do a review with sample images for a sx70?
Very cool, I've shot with the SX530 and SX540 quite a bit. I don't currently have an SX70 to do sample image review, but from my experience, the shooting capability is nearly identical APART from the extended optical zoom range, which does bring in some light astrophotography options (with a good tripod!) Another cool camera too look at is the Panasonic FZ80, great optical range there too
Hi i have enjoyed many of your videos. I recently obtained a canon 5d3 that is a bit scratched up and kind of dried vinyl wrapping and i am wondering if you might suggest something to clean it and then protect it (both the vinyl and the rest of the black scratchy body). Thanks very much.@pricklypearcamera
can i ask you question about "canon A590 Is this charging? or only charging bu battery? and how long double battery with that?? can u please answer these questions 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I believe it will use XD cards up to the 1gb or so size. Fujifilm and Olympus have 512mb-1gb XD cards in the used market on websites like ebay in the $20-25 range from my experience.
