Ah, indubitably, I must confess my undignified defeat at the hands of Paul, you see. Perchance, thou hast discerned this misfortune? I find myself utterly perplexed, for I meticulously orchestrated the post-production of said video, and in my sagacity, omitted the segment wherein I succumbed to defeat. Subsequently, I replaced it with a most triumphant sequence portraying my absolute triumph. It befuddles my intellect, for there exists no plausible manner by which thou couldst have observed this subtle alteration within the confines of the video. Might one speculate that thou possesseth clandestine insights, privy to the intricacies of my discreet editorial maneuvers? Verily, I am at a loss to fathom the origins of such perspicacious intelligence, as my endeavors were shrouded in utmost clandestinity.
Today I heard that in the Original BG this would sometimes happen in the cutscene depending on the dice rolls. Not forseen so the game would crash. But funny, and fixed for TOTSC.
Your childhood dream was that the outcome of a cutscene in BG1 was different? Yeah you are a legend bro!! I played this game when I was too young to fully understand what was going on and I kept making new characters all the fucking time seeing this scene over and over again :P So same :)
@@TibiaOTarena One of many dreams indeed, yes i ended up doing the same, eventually i found my way to Baldurs Gate but never killed Sarevok himself. Perfhaps i should do it now. I just wanted the good to prevail right in the beginning and purge the gaming world out of evil. We used to emulate Baldurs Gate in the garden as kids and developed the story to the point when everything was in harmony and every single evil creature was eradicated. I think the game really had a positive effect on my development
@@gabrielileri5799 If you want an easy run go as a berserker and just use enrage before every encounter, you don't have to worry about mages casting shit on you. Just recommending that for a first full playthrough!
@@TibiaOTarena I appreciate that bro!! Thank you very much, BERSERK it is, i'll listen Thyrfing - Going Berserk to it for the ultimate 1998 feeling. LETS GO
If you attack him ranged after he attacks the gnolls, then he'll go hostile to you. If you then invis, the gnolls will continue to attack him but he doesn't fight back. Wait 10 mins and he's dead - plus you didn't get the rep hit from killing him yourself!
I changed the actual script of the cutscene. I made it so that Gorion never dies by a force kill. Instead I force spell cutscene powerword kill on Sarevok and when that happens I made it so the end cutscene play and copied the script from the ending and put it here. Meaning the game will register that you won after this cutscene.
@@TibiaOTarena Thank you for responding. Reading your comment makes me wonder how dramatically one might alter the plot of the Baldur's Gate games through modding.
@@jackheggarty1929 Well I work as a programmer and Baldur's Gate has all scripts open for editing pretty much. You can do all kinds of fun things. Even when you join someone else's game online you have full access to all scripts and can make custom scripts so the possibilities of what you can do are nearly endless.
In enhanced edition you need at least 2 party members with ranged attack. He casts a charm person and if your main gets charmed without a 2nd character in your party the game ends as if your main died. I attack him from opposite side far enough away that my 2 active party members can't see each other. I trapped him today with 4 characters. Might be possible to trap with less especially if theres an object nearby.
I love how the EE fixed most of these tricksies... killing Drizzt should not be easy. But I also love with what kind of solution people come up if the incentive is high enough.
Tried to beat him with a full team of around level 6 with the good old version of the game. He's one tough kill. Anything I tried he always won. Finally got him by summoning waves of monsters with magics and a wand. Then while he was dealing with them I showered him with arrows and such and i used wand of paralyzation on him till it worked. Once paralyzed I went full melee on him and he died fast. Not sure its worth it tho, you lose 10 rep, the armor isnt that good and I think you cant keep the gear in BG2. Best just to steal the 1 sword you're allowed and leave him be. Btw, you can body block him with only 4 characters. I tried tho 2 of my companions left when dismissed so I couldnt try the trick. Also, the armor doesn't let you use magic when wearing it. Finally the second sword, the one you cant just steal from him cannot be used by a character evil or neutral.
Yeah man this is cheating. Honestly it's not hard to do fair, just have your entire party pepper him with ranged attacks while you use your fastest character (boots of speed help) to kite his attention. You can also chunk a huge portion of his health using Dorn's blackguard poison if you get some lucky hits in. You can also start attacking him right away as soon as he begins fighting the gnolls, which gives you time to get some free shots in, because he won't focus you until he's done with the gnolls.
One of my favorite things in BG (and all games in which you design you character in general) is to use my own portrait, in BG I remember my first days modding, replacing soundtracks with my voice, recorded with a primitive software I remember haha!
