My name is Mike and I'm a Brit living in Oregon, USA. I've been passionate about classic British motorcycles for as long as I can remember... back when the bikes weren't actually vintage!
I hope you will enjoy my videos of the local Oregon classic bike scene, rides, events & fun projects.
Please feel free to drop me a line or leave a note in the video comments. I try to reply to as many comments as I can.
I'd also love to hear from you if you have any suggestions or ideas for the channel.
Congratulations on your retirement Mike, lot's of time for bikes now if the wife let's you lol. I retired two years back but the weather here in the UK has been really poor so not much riding ☹ A mate and I rode that stretch of road plus many more ten years back on rental Harleys, good bikes in their way but a Bonneville would have been a lot more fun, ride safe.
Gongrats Mike….now that you’re retired you’ll wonder how you ever found the time to work. Enjoyed seeing the Colorado scenery and the lovely loco…..more of this sort of content maybe?🇬🇧
Well done Mike, lots of garage time in your future, I think? The merchandise looks great and I'm sure I'll be buying a coffee cup, it will look great on my workbench. Keep up the great work. Chuck.
Yes Mike Congratulations on your retirement!! Great video, and you can count on me purchasing some awesome shirts.... Very nice design. As we have talked a bit in the past, I would like to visit sometime when I get up there to see my brother..... As for CNW, Matt is a master at what he does, nice shop and always helpful. I have bought quite a few parts from him for my Commando over the years....
That’s fantastic news Mike! You will have a whole new adventure to look forward too. I retired two years ago and am having a great time. I’m sure you will also! Cheers
Hi Kevin, yes absolutely. I'm working with a global company who produce the merchandise and ship "locally" within country, so that should hopefully help keep some of the shipping costs down. Best wishes, Mike
Congratulations Mike, work will be a distant memory very soon ! Retired from BT a year ago and bought myself a Commando Mk3! If that's an open invitation to the Mighty Garage, I'll pop by next time I am in the states!
Hi Phil, I just ran across your great video about your immaculate bike. I too know the thrill of owning one of these iconic bikes. In June of 1971, I showed up at Dunstall's shop and picked up my 810 cafe racer. I went for broke and ordered most of the options such as the 5 speed Quaif gear box, the finned covers, the ignition option and, of course, the camshaft option. I don't know if you remember, but there was a small parking lot where you could test drive the bikes, so I took my new purchase for a short ride and nearly flipped it up. The first gear was so low it surprised me. I then rode the bike to Dover and went on the now defunct hovercraft across the channel to Calais and took a tour through, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, France and Spain, ending up in Madrid, where I lived for the next 16 years. The only problem I ever had was a loose bolt that held the 810 barrel on. A wonderful bike and one that let me travel on the autobahn without shame. I have a lot of shots from that time if you would be interested in seeing them. What great times those were for bike riders!
Well done Mike take it easy look after yourself and ride your great collection of bikes to relax I myself retired 7 years ago when I was 74 i did not want to retire but the supermarket warehouse I worked for moved to another area the new warehouse is 900.000 square it has taken on 3 warehouse under its roof the building is around 1 mile long very big warehouse I did not fancy driving 160 miles a day especially doing long shifts then driving home so I opted for redundancy and retirement I’m still not working and spending more time working on rebuilding my 1969 commando fastback it should be very time consuming. Look after yourself and family great video as usual kindest regards john
Congrats on the retirement. Would you please consider making a T-shirt with a small logo on the front and tiger head on the back? Sort of combining two of your existing ones but into something more understated (Series A front and Series B in the back) Thanks!
Way to go Mike. I retired 2829 days ago (not that I'm counting). I don't think about work at all. Only in a nightmare sometimes. Very happy for you. Love your channel.
Congratulations Mike and welcome to the retirement club. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do which should be easy for you, as you have lots to keep you busy in the workshop and riding your beautiful bikes. Btw, Matt must have the cleanest bike workshop I’ve ever seen. Thanks for the video. Cheers, Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Congratulations on your retirement, Mike! I did it a few years back. You're going to enjoy it! What you hear is all true: "Don't know how I had a full time job with all I have to do", "Every day is Saturday", "Time doesn't slow down- seems to even speed up", etc. I know you'll hit the 20K subscriber mark- I've been a follower from early on and you have always provided great content. I'm sure others will find the same. Loving the merch too. All good stuff, my friend! Cheers! 👍🏍
congrats i retired 2 years ago i wonder how i had time to work will get tshirt asap was thinking about getting leaping tiger tattoo but tshirt can be removed at will rather than permanently attached
Its great to be retired - I have done the same thing recently - after 53 years of work !! . . . Congratulations to you and have a long and happy retirement . . I would really like to ask a question - I have been subscriber for a long time and am sure I have not missed a video as a result but I have not seen any references to the beautiful "Manxman" project for some time . . . Its beautiful Red Seat is seen in the background occasionally but what has happened to the machine itself ? . . . I feel deprived, have I missed something ? All the best.- like the "Merch" !
I’m so happy for you Mike couldn’t happen to a nicer guy ! I know you’re going to enjoy every minute. I also know you will, but look after Mrs Mike as well 😊. Take care have fun, well deserved. Ray 🇬🇧
