Have you tried crafting with paper? If not, you don’t know what you are missing out on. I love being creative and I use many different materials and techniques in my classes. I also love to teach and my first time students often tell me “I am not crafty or I can’t do this” and I tell them my motto always has been: “Art comes from the Heart. There is no Right way or Wrong way, there is only YOUR way.” I guess this is also why many of them have been with me for over a decade now and they claim “crafting together is cheaper than therapy and so much fun”….LOL I guess it can be a stress relief too. So, come join me to get creative with cards, scrapbook pages, watercolor paintings and more. Have fun with paper and join me for the ride... Let’s Get Crafting shall we?❤️
Thank you Denise so glad you like it too. I loved the clean look of my photos on the white so I tried to stay away from a heavy DSP, plus this is perfect for those little pieces of paper we save 🥰 thanks for watching
@@CraftyConceptswithErin Thank You Erin ❤️ I loved how the pictures looked just on the white paper background, so I didn’t wanted to add too much to distract from it. Thanks so much for watching 😊
@@robincrowley7828 Thank you for watching Robin, you can make these temples really easy. I used some thicker vellum from my stash, but if you want a real clear look of your pictures before cutting them down, grab some acetate. Cut the vellum/ acetate down to your most used photo sizes. I have mine cut to 5x3 4x4 3x3 3x4 3x3 2x2… you can make any size you like. These are the standard sizes I use to cut down my 4x6 pictures that are already printed. Next grab a fine permanent marker and ruler and add the grid to it. You don’t need this, but in photography you work with thirds, so I just divided each side of my cut pieces in 1/3 and drew a line. That’s all, now they are ready to be used. I hope this helps…. I got a lot of questions about these little cheat sheets as I call them 😂 maybe I make a quick tutorial. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for watching.
Claudia I enjoyed watching you bring this layout to life! I’d love to see your journaling at the end of the video, your commentary and on how you bring this all together makes the video! Thanks for sharing❤
Thank you so much ❤ I am so glad you like my video and my layouts. Yeah the journaling 😊 I am bad in keeping up with it. But this trip is almost in the book and I will finish it off with my journaling. I told myself, no new project until that is done💕 I will try to show the book ones it’s finished…
@@dianeetcheverry2747 You’re welcome, English isn’t my native language so sometimes it gets a bit lost 🤣 gotta laugh myself when I listen to it….but glad I could help. Keep crafting 💕
@@diannatroutt5967 Thank You Dianna, years ago I saw someone using something similar and I thought it was a great tool to make better decisions on where to cut your photos, especially landscape pictures. They are easy to make from vellum. Just cut the photo sizes you like and use, place a grid on it with a marker (thirds) and have fun using them. Thank you for watching and commenting ❤️ glad you enjoyed the video
Thank You Erin, I appreciate your responses. I have to say, the more I use my “old” pictures to finally get them into albums, the more I pay attention to what photos I take these days on our trips 😊 thanks for watching
Thank you Andre for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I totally agree, the glitter in the center would have been too much 😊 I know we girls love glitter but sometimes it’s not needed. Happy crafting and hope to see you back here❤
@@doriskilbane6089 Thank You Doris, You can always change the sizes on sketches or add more photos if you need too. I like sketches as my starting point and sometimes they turn out completely different as planed 😊
@@denisejames855 Thank you Denise. I am so glad I was helpful. Yes, my little cheat sheets are really helpful. I like to get a better look on what my picture would look like before I cut it down and to determine where I should cut it. You can make your own using vellum like I did or even better use acetate. The nice thing is you can make it in any size you want. Thanks for watching ❤️
Absolutely love this layout! The pops of blue were a great idea and I am inspired to get those stencils out and start creating. When you said John Denver the song Country Roads instantly came to my mind.
@@CraftyConceptswithErin Yes…. Working on my pages from this trip I had many John Denver moments ….great music. I too like how the blue accents just finished off the pages. The greens and browns just were to flat… Definitely have to play more with the stencils, but they are really great. Christmas tress are calling I think💕 Thanks for watching Erin
@@CraftyConceptswithErin Thank You Erin, yes the cut of 2 pictures into one strip worked out great. I am sure I will use this again…the Rocky Mountain Pictures are calling LOL
@@CraftyConceptswithErin Thank You Erin, I really like this sketch and it worked great for my picture. The little hexagons were a happy accident LOL…thanks for watching
@@claudiahendersoncreations Hi Claudia, no the overlay transparent sheets with the grids on them for cropping down to the 3x4 etc, about 3 and half minutes in. Its a wonderful idea.
@@sharonangel8671 Oh I see 😂 my bet….I just took a piece of sturdy vellum and cut them to 3”x3”, 3”x4”, 3”x5” and 4”x4”. I then took a permanent marker with a fine tip and put in the grid lines. Simple as that 💕. It is even better when you can cut them from acetate or use some clear packaging and cut them to the sizes you like. The marker will work the same but with the clear sheets you can see your cutting area even better. ❤️
@@vlogyoutubeolja I am sorry I can’t response properly but I don’t speak your language. I hope you enjoy my videos and craft along. Thanks for watching🫶
@@diannatroutt5967 you are welcome and I am glad you’re here. Yes, this set is wonderful and just add it in with your next order😊 you still have the bonus day until the 31.💕
@@tammiezeiser7210 Thank You Tammie and glad you enjoyed my video. That is an excellent idea, Tumbleweeds, yes….love it. I know it is sometimes hard to think outside the box when you have stamp and dies that are meant for one thing, but I love to use them in different ways as decorations. That’s a new one… keep crafting and see you back here soon ❤️
Thank you Claudia for the details start to finish. I learned so many tips! And thinking outside the box. I would never have thought to use seaside wishes for a mountain trip but it totally worked! Sketch - looking at it and turning it to suit the landscape photos! This is new to me also. I think so linear it’s hard to get my mind set changed to look at things differently. I really enjoyed your video (and your accent). I’ve been to Colorado a lot but do not recall sand dunes. Need to check it out. I’ve been to the White Sands in New Mexico a couple of times. Thanks again.
@@lorettaboydston9439 I am so glad you enjoyed the video and learned a thing here and there. I know it is always tricky to get started and scary to go outside the box, but remember it is only paper 😉 I will have a few more layouts from the dunes to come and even more from Colorado …and I just got back from Germany/Italy with more photos….LOL it never ends. But for now I work with me preprinted photos, so stay tuned for the next layout. If you ever have questions feel free to ask ❤️ thanks for watching
I really enjoyed watching your process and hearing your thoughts. Your layout is beautiful! The Harbor background looks so nice and I love how you’ve used the sketch.
@@CraftyConceptswithErin Thank you Erin, I am glad you enjoyed it. I think it is nice to sometimes go into more detail how we get started with a layout and why we do things the way we do and sketches are so much fun to work with. Thank you for watching and I can’t wait to see what you have in store next ❤️
I am so glad I found your channel! I sturggle to use my stamps and dies from S/Up! on my scrapbook layouts. Thanks for sharing this great idea ~ Hugs, Gale The Happy Stamper :)
You are welcome and glad I could help. I will continue to mix my CTMH stuff with the new Stampin’Up! products I get so keep watching. I don’t have a lot of SU stamps and dies yet, but we can all make it work. Use what you have and don’t worry if it is not perfect, as long as is embellish it it’s all good. Like here, the sand dollars… it’s not an ocean or lake theme, but it had sand 🤣 so that worked for me. Thanks for watching ❤️
Yes, a sketch is a great starting point and when you can print your photos accordingly it is really fast…. But mine are never the right size😂 so I make the sketch work
