Easy way to start a double page scrapbooking layout

Today I start a new chapter of scrapbooking videos. While the transition from CTMH to Stampin’Up! is still a work in progress, the products sure work well together. I will be still using CTMH products but adding here and there the new Stampin’Up! products into the mix.
In this video I take you behind the scenes on how to start a layout and what I do to make it work for me.

I think it is nice to sometimes go into more detail how we get started with a layout and why we do things the way we do and sketches are so much fun to work with. You are welcome and glad I could help. I will continue to mix my CTMH stuff with the new Stampin’Up! products I get so keep watching. I don’t have a lot of SU stamps and dies yet, but we can all make it work. Use what you have and don’t worry if it is not perfect, as long as is embellish it it’s all good. Like here, the sand dollars… it’s not an ocean or lake theme, but it had sand 🤣 so that worked for me. Thanks for watching ❤️

Yes, a sketch is a great starting point and when you can print your photos accordingly it is really fast…. But mine are never the right size😂 so I make the sketch work

Thank you Claudia for the details start to finish. I learned so many tips! And thinking outside the box. I would never have thought to use seaside wishes for a mountain trip but it totally worked! Sketch - looking at it and turning it to suit the landscape photos! This is new to me also. I think so linear it’s hard to get my mind set changed to look at things differently. I really enjoyed your video (and your accent). I’ve been to Colorado a lot but do not recall sand dunes. Need to check it out. I’ve been to the White Sands in New Mexico a couple of times. Thanks again.

I know it is always tricky to get started and scary to go outside the box, but remember it is only paper 😉 I will have a few more layouts from the dunes to come and even more from Colorado …and I just got back from Germany/Italy with more photos….LOL it never ends. But for now I work with me preprinted photos, so stay tuned for the next layout. If you ever have questions feel free to ask ❤️ thanks for watching

I know it is sometimes hard to think outside the box when you have stamp and dies that are meant for one thing, but I love to use them in different ways as decorations. That’s a new one… keep crafting and see you back here soon ❤️
