This channel is dedicated to my passion for fishkeeping and plants. I create How-Tos, DIY tutorials and a lot of aquarium related videos. My name is Marcel and a few years ago I rediscovered my hobby fishkeeping. My number of aquariums has been growing since and so has my interest in fish, plants and aquascaping. I would like to share with you my projects, knowledge and learnings I gathered along the way. Thank you for stopping by. Check out my Instagram!
I don't know why he didn't put the name of the cabinet in the description, but it's IKEA PS cabinet, to save someone else time, thanks for the video though, very inspirational.
@@GrowingInterest thanks man. I’m slightly worried about the weight limit. I already built mine and placed my boards. Let me know what tanks you had and if your still using it. Thank you
@@gabe8964 I had 2 of the aquariums in the video on it (70L). I built a support in the middle, two additional legs and the panel in the back was enough support for then. But handle with caution, if it's not feeling stable don't put your heavy hitter on it
Since this is a Asian themed tank, you could add some gobies, like for example the Taiwanese Dragon Micro Goby (Schismatogobius ampluvinculus) they are very cool little guys from Japan, and Taiwan You could also add Malayan Yellow Pygmy Catfish (Hyalobagrus flavus) they are very small catfish that remind me of Pygmy Cories Both of these fish are somewhat rare but extremely worth keeping
Great idea! . Build one of black walnut some years ago. Also made my two stands of aluminium. The wooden cover is pretty heavy and I wasn't sure if it could take the weight for a longer period of time. Always afraid to wake up from a firework at the Aquarium, it actually never happend till now. . Back in the days where I built it I've been making some mistakes for sure. I was about 15 or 18 years old. Now at the age of 30 there are some changes to consider. Although it's still in duty during all the years it's becoming more difficult the get the short T5 lights at the shop. I want to swamp them for LED. . The second change should cover it from the water to avoid electric accidents. . The third change has to prevent topwater fishes to jump outside and drown. I lost many fish friends by this circumstance. To solve it there should be a stainless grille on top. It protects the Killifishes from the deadjump and let the water evaporate to safe the wooden cover from fungus. In the middle there has to be a big square hole for the light to pass inside the tank. . My cover is way lower and closer to the watersurface. . Best regards, Johnny 🇩🇪
Good video..informative. I'm using store bought beach pebbles as substrate. Iv just washed them really well and separated and shells or odd bits I find... iv placed the washed and sorted pebbles in trays and covered in distilled vinegar ... there was a small fizz from some of the pebbles them I removed. My question is about the ones that give a small fizz would they be considered harm full in my 200lt fish tank with 4 gold fish ... pump going constantly and water aeration???
@@GrowingInterest great well after putting in the effort if just put in they better get on with it 😆😆😆 I cant imagen it will have any massive impact but I will check water every few weeks just to be sure and I'm even thinking of placing a ph indicator in the tank for the first few months . Well thanks agen 👍
Hi. Just watched your video and it was amazing. Btw, hope you can tell me what's the capacity/size of the jar that you used for this project? Thanks for the help. Keep it up.
I love Honey Gouramis, I have one male and would like to add some more- may I ask if you still have all 3 of yours and do they get along well together, and also are they male/female? Your tank is very nice 👍
I thought I had one male and two female but wasn so sure later. They past away sadly, pointy scales and so on, I later found out the whole population of the privat breeder where sick, I bought sick fish :(
