Going too fast at the first bumper will likely result in a death as you have too much speed/spin in the wrong direction, keeping in mind the gravity surfaces. If you hit the 2nd bumper just right then 32 and perhaps below is possible, I just haven’t TASed anything better yet. We can’t write off sub 30 just yet tho ;)
In marble blast ultra on xbox 360, you could disassemble the controller to gain extra spin on the thumbstick since the plastic limited the range of motion slightly. Is there anything wild like that happening in this game for the most optimal spin?
Funnily enough, there is! Marble it Up: Classic has an exploit called controller turning. In summary, the marble gains additional spin (and speed) through turns when you hold the control stick at certain angles (anywhere from 60-86 degrees away from true north). Controller turning is a side effect of some code in the game that gives the marble additional speed when jumping and rolling - this was not known for a long time. A program commonly known as MIU X-Input was made so that players using a keyboard can emulate controller turning - I use it a bunch in this video, and it’s quite strong for speedrunning. The newly releasing Marble it Up: Ultra does not have controller turning as it was a pretty controversial part of the game. Instead, Ultra has Additional Acceleration, an intentional gimmick based on your camera movement in turns. It’s like controller turning except less broken.
cheers man! yeah I had some routes I still wanted to land before Ultra but, I ran out of time. I’m still really satisfied with my efforts to get some sick times in though
