Hi Andrew excellent demonstration on the presonus 16:4:2AI , I don't have the AI desk version , but the standard 16:4:2 , I bought the Neumann Kms 105 mic , I'm a male baritone singer , told by my vocal coach I was a Baritone Tenor , I also bought the Sennheiser E945 mic , big difference on the price range , the issues I'm having with this desk is when I use the Kms 105 even tough the overall volume of the pa is not loud , by the way my FOH is the RCF 935a's tops , on using the Kms I get this really high pitch sound wave , it's so piercing it's not that it's loud but even just last night I could see the bar tenders putting their hands up to their ears wondering what it is was effecting them ear drums ,the silent killer , using the E945 no issues here , I have searched the web for answers here to no avail, what is it that causes this how to get the best vocal sound from the Kms avoiding that piercing noise , I connected up my Zoom 4HN recorder to the main TRS out last night and set my recording level really low and still it was clipping and that piercing squeel was still heard , i just had to take down the expensive KMS 105 and revert back to E945 , im just lost now as to where im going wrong here ,I pray and hope you being the expert here can shed some light on this for me , I love my presonus desk and still getting usta the digital world , took me some time to change from the passive era , I really appreciate your views please and thank you
Andrew excellent demonstration of the super presonus 16:4:2 digital desk , yes its moving on in years now but honestly Its my first introduction to the digital desk era , very slow at first to move from passive , but best decision i have made , still getting familiar with all it has to offer , my reason im coming to you and I hope you get this and will spare a little for me to explain how I can record my shows onto my Zoom 4HN Recorder , right now i just manually record my shows but i want to be able just to connect directly to my desk , and I was wondering can I just use the 2 jacks main outs for this to get the sounds coming through the desk directly into the recorder ,and at the same time using the XLR main outs to my powered speakers , or do I connect though the aux sends , i also see 2 sets of phono's on the back ,usually these on other desks is out to rec and the other to playback , I appreciate any advice that you give , well done again on this demonstration really well explained , as i was saying yes this desk is old school but still its far better than anybof my previous passive desks , 😉👍
Thank you for this video. I just purchased a 24R and had a lot of questions. This answered a lot them. This mixer has so many options and is very complicated. One question I have that I didn't see in the video. My main fader control is locked and greyed out. I cannot adjust it or access any of the controls. I cannot adjust the volume for my powered monitors hooked up to the XLR outputs. Do you know how to solve this? Thank You in advance. -AtomX65
Hello Andrew! Thank you very much for this and other videos! I have one important question that I can't find an answer to. If you know, please give an answer within the framework of the PreSonus 24r and Beringer x32rack system. So here's the situation. We have stereo mixes for a guitarist and a vocalist. Each of them sets up their own mix for themselves. And let's say the guitarist wants to pan the saxophone only to the left ear. And the vocalist wants the saxophone to the right ear. Question: does PreSonus or Beringer or any other system allow you to make your own pans in mixes? My question is related to the fact that as a young band, we used a Zoom L20 mixer for the first time, and there the pan settings are the same for all channels: master, bus1, bus2, etc. Accordingly, when the FOH engineer changed the pan on the master, the pan changed for the musicians too. I want to find a mixer that will give us freedom for individual mixes.
Hello I need some help I've been struggling to connect my iPad universal control for a while now and there's been no headway I've updated all the firmware and they the same yet I'm unable to the Mac is connected and functional but the Ipad even after scanning it fails to find the mixer to connect please help the mixer is a studiolive 64S Thank you.
super video! can you let the behringer startup with a show or scene? so that what happens before doen'st matter. when you startup the behringer it will always starts with the right show
Nice video, after 7 years still informative and easy to understand... thanks for making it, much appreciated. I have 2 questions though... 1) what does the FLIP button near the top of the channel do ? 2) I have a headphone connected to the board during church services, how can I hear the music channel (while muted) and the microphones are in use by P&W members or the pastor ?
I'm not sure which button you mean. There are buttons to switch some of the aux to post or pre fader. When it's pre, then the fader doesn't effect the sound going through that aux, while post-fader means that the sound through that aux is adusted by the fader. To isolate a channel, press the 'solo' button on one or more channels.
Great Video! For the StudioLive 24R, how would you set up monitors with a digital stage snake (NSB 16.8 Network Staged Box). I am unable to get any sound going through the monitors I have set from the digital snake. I have digitally patched everything correctly and can get sound out through the mains, but not floor monitors. Any solution to this?
@@AndrewBellous Thank you! I found the solution a while back. I missed a thing in the digital routing section which prevented the monitors from working. But thank you for your willingness to help! You're amazing
There are two XLR outputs in the back. Plug those into a power amplifier and then into speakers or directly into powered speakers. Set the level for the amplifier or powered speakers, ensure gain is set appropriately for the master fader to the LR output, and increased the gain on a mic channel to check it :)
Hey Andrew, I just found some of your video tutorials and they are really helpful. Can you do something to add to this one where you show how to use RTA to understand/change EQ settings and dealing with mic feedback on a vocal channel?
Very helpful video. One question, though. With the FX send fader - reverb for instance - should you just leave that a unity 0, and then control the amount of reverb on the channel itself? I hope that makes sense.
I just picked one of these up at my local pawn shop today, can't wait to get it all hooked up! I'm upgrading from a 6 channel Tapco by Mackie mixer i've had most of my adult life.
Hi Andrew, this the mix sytem our church use. However, I'm having a hard time to produce the output my multi-effects produces from my guitar. Reverb Overdrive or whatever effects I've been stepping, it doesn't comes out naturally. I'm lost what to do. Any suggestions? I'm connected as what they labeled Instrument 1 from the app.
Yes, you should be able to use it with facebook live. I'm not familiar with the settings for that, but it should be a matter of selecting the proper aux mix in your OS for the audio input. Or, Facebook live may allow you to select your audio source. I've not used that myself, I generally use Zoom.
Do you think there are differences in latency between using network input audio and usb input into a computer? I would like to have the inputs going into waves superrack to be processed with Waves plugins then going out to FOH
Question: How do you reset one or many fader positions to zero db at the same time? In Logic I double click the fader and it goes to 0db - but not in UC. Is it even possible to select more than one channel / fader at the same time in UC? Thank you.
That's a feature I'd like to see added. On many values, it's possible to click on the text value and enter zero, but I don't think that's possible on the fader. Quite frustrating for those of us who care about lining everything up just so.
I know this video is old but I can't find an answer for this: If I have a rack Presonus 24R connected directly to a Mac via ethernet AVB - can I adjust the pre-amp gains and Phantom power on/off directly via Logic Pro X and record everything flat? Or do always need to be running Studio One? Logic records in AIFF (smaller files) and seems like Studio One records in WAV format, huge enormous files. I much rather use Logic to record everything flat. I always mix later. Thank you.
Question, I have a SQ6 connected to a AR2412 stage box with a cat5 cable in the Slink port. Can i connect my ME-1 to the AR2412 or do i need to upgrade my stage box (AR2412)? Thanks for your help.
The software updates. I'm not aware of a hardware update that would keep you from upgrading to the latest. That's one of the advantages of these units, they get better over time. But, I've not used one in some time.
You can bypass the switch. It made more sense in my situation to use the switch because the Internet Access source was in the office, not the sound booth. No reason you can't plug directly into the router, that was just an idiosyncrasy of that particular setup.
hello! i have a bit problem. Dose Bheringer not supported M2 MacBook Air? Because I can't connect my laptop to the mixer, and also I can't update the frimware. I hope you can help. Thanks!
