This is so awesome! We just replaced our manual board with this thing. And I don't think the guy who bought it had any clue what it could do. He was just like, "ooh, wifi!!"
That may be possible, but it would need to be a midi pedal, and I'm not familiar with how to configure such a device, being a guitar guy, not a keyboard guy. Sorry I can't help.
Snapshots are not saved "within" a scene. Snapshots and Scenes are exactly the same thing, with Scenes being saved to a device (eg PC) memory and Snapshots saved to the mixer's memory. You can accomplish the same function as correctly described in this video by loading scenes from your PC but it will be much slower, hence the significant value of the "Snapshot" function. My only other observation is that where scene changes involve only a change in fader volumes between minimum and their desired levels, you could achieve a similar result by using mute groups.
Hi, Phil. You're right, I didn't understand the difference between snapshots, scenes and shows when I made the video. I think I have it straight now. Please see my response to David. The things I was describing are actually possible, but I had the wrong terminology. A show is in fact a collection of snapshots saved externally. But, how you get to that point is confusing.

Alright. I think I have it worked out now, but I didn't find time to actually test it out on my XR18 to be sure that my understanding is accurate, so I'm just going on what I've read on a forum. Phil Toler is correct to say that a scene and a snapshot are the same thing. Apparently a scene was created first, which was the current settings of the mixer saved to a computer. Then Snapshot functionality was added in, which allowed you to save the same information not to the hard drive of a connected computer, but to the internal memory of the device. I didn't have this concept clearly in my head when I made the video, so he's very correct that I imply that a scene is a collection of snapshots. What I described is possible, but I had my terminology wrong. I was describing a 'Show'. So, you can save your current mixer settings externally to the computer (Scene) or internally to the mixer (snapshot). By saving it externally you could email it to share it or back it up to ensure that you wouldn't lose your settings if someone messed with the board. Saving it internally is faster, as snapshots load in much more quickly. In either case, you are only saving the current settings. So, if you are wanting to save a series of settings, one way of doing it would be to go to each snapshot, save each one as a scene, and then later on load each scene and save it as a snapshot. That sounds like a lot of work, and so there is something called a 'show'. A show is an externally saved record of all the snapshots on the mixer saved at once. This is really the thing you're looking to do, and it isn't a scene or a snapshot. The tricky part is, there isn't a 'save show' function in the X Air Edit PC/Mac Application. Apparently, the way you create a show is simply to gather a number of scenes into a directory in Windows Explorer or Finder, and then you can load that group of scenes as a show (still not sure how this is done). This is done externally to the application. Why? I have no clue. But, you can do it within the Android App. I'm not sure about iOS, I haven't had a chance to have a thorough look at the iPad app. This is all very confusing, and I plan to make another video to explain it all once I understand it myself.
