@@scontulous I dunno dude. I liked it back in the day but the issue of it being real time has always been an issue with Teppen. It just makes it really unfair because it's reaction based gameplay at high levels
Strong modern cards actually disincentivize waiting for the opponent to play first. The arguable strongest card rn is Balrog who hugely rewards playing him before the opponent has units. Its all playstyle anyway. Like, black decks prefer to play slow, but they need the option *not* to because of balrog and other fast decks. I personally prefer combo/midrange and any formst i can run it, but control isn't oppressive rn or by default, even with Black the strongest color. That said, this is an aspect of teppen, red and black players will always have that part of their playstyle and will try to wait on 10 at roundstart, but its not optimal, and theres plenty of other playstyles. I would also compare stuff like this to how u can gain knowledge in YGO based on how your oppoment does or does not handtrap, or toggles in Master Duel. Time, in all its nuance, is what sets the game apart, and is understandably make it of break it for a lot of card game players
My man watching this video gave me motion sickness, you never stopped the screen on any of the changes for more than half a second. Scrolling up and down over and over agian makes it really hard to follow
Overall, I think this update was just ok. Dreadking Rath looking better is cool, unlawful arrest should not have been printed at 3 cost to begin with, wesker change doesn't matter lol
A lot of rly random changes for sure lol. I actually think Green got it best, and even the low-inpact changes like Morrigan, Shoma, Bandero makes this one of the most fun patch notes i can think! Black is still probably the best color, but I didnt mind that this season, and now its even funner lol
@@scontulous It was splashed in everything, although Rathalos was certainly a choice. Release meta was Black/Green Spike Launch Nerg with pre-nerf Iris 5 and HK Chun and the +2/+2 Black card.
OH. I knew about release spike launch, but didnt know it used Chun🤯 and yeah Psycho Power! Years later i still wish they didnt nerf it to black only... thanks for the factoid🤓
Sure! Charge Shot is just my personal favorite, I'll try to make stuff with the cards more everyone has too. For the TDJ green deck i actually do play 3 TDD Felyne, which is an epic, but it feels very important to the deck. CORE felyne works too, but the 2 tribes is huge. So, I recommend 3x Nero (TDJ), 3x Felicia (TDJ), 3x Necro (TDJ), 3x Breakthrough to Escape, 3x Felyne, 3x Blizzard Buffalo, 2/3x Gozales, 2/3x disarm, 1/2x Blanka (TDJ), 1/2x Quropeco (TDJ), 2/3x Wall Jump, Perfect Partners, Tiny Jailbreaker Felyne. Then the last card for me is Battle Chip-HeroSwrd (3ME) but Discarded Pride Hoganmer works for a TDJ card. You can also fill deck space with Healing Dance, since it activates Nero/Felicia effect. The Hero Art should be either Shield Spire, Gaea Armor, or Heart Tank
Oh, got ya. I have wanted to meta guides with decks for each color, so if i can get around to that I'll definitely keep this idea in mind. Im not always great at finishing projects so theres no promise, but i like the idea! as for sharing a deck list, I believe RU-vid will think its spam if u just use "Copy Deck" from in game. Thats why i sent my list formated differently. Also, thank you for your comments :]
Okay so i got something half invasion, half meme (the meme half is stronger tbh lol) Invasion: 3x Pteranoid, 3x MS Tyranosaurus, 1-3x Velguarder, 0-2 Maverick Akatsuki (soul shop), Vengeful Mind Dr Weil, Third Energy Kirk, BOW T103 Tyrant (optional) so with that, i figured its a flight/machine deck with control options. So obviously playing Killer Ballsss (and ascends for velguarder) 3x Too Much to Handle, 3 Blowfish, 3 Security Ball (more -hp like our invasions), and 1 BLOOD DESTINY Then 3x Bodyguard contact is like mini-Blood Destiny to help pteranoid/balls win with flight cheese. Last thing i played was 3 Armadura (or 3 Akuma from ADA) and Demon King Oda Nobunaga And with that it's clearly a non-meta deck so we *have* to play Ashura Senku to grt those wins, and the flight cheese is built for it. Sekia Kuretsuha also works if u really want to meme
Green seems like the best bet s🤔what i got, with Charge Shot to win the game is this 3x Tzitzi-ya-ku (TDJ) 3x Qurupeco (TDJ), 1x Qurupeco (CORE), 3x Felyne (CORE), 2-3x Felyne (TDD), 2-3 Felyne (Basic), Tiny Jailbreaker Felyne, and Wild Transfer Rajang. Then 3x Breakthrough to Escape, 1-3x wall jump, 3x Have You No Pride, 3x Honey, and 1-3x Healing Dance Hope you like it!!
Here's the finished list for spoiler seekers: twitter.com/scontulous/status/1814365921068363818 as for the 4 cards I accidently left off: Wandering Guardian Byte (Low A+) is very game warping in Thunder Edge, winning the game in 30 seconds unanswered, but he's a bit lower for being expensive and therefore risky Mystery VS Red Spider (A+) increases Rakuhouha's ceiling a lot by letting it play out of anything cheaply. Eternal Guardian Statue (Low B) is slow and easily removed. Too fair compared to the old Garr. Sadistic Cyborg Bandero (D) is one of the highest investment cards, in setup and MP cost, and for that cost, he should really Veil, or get both effects. Clunky/not worth it. I also moved Legendary Bancho Daigo up to high B since Bringer players are nice rn
Ill announce the specific date from now on, that was my bad... Gonna do another either the 13th or 14th at 4PM PST. Been building a bunch of Green for this one🌱
The new Purple overcharge cards paired with Break Away Ada makes me wanna commit "What am I fighting for". Also gotta love how green got cards that required ten different units, but the only actual card that can get them to that condition is a single card, forgot the name but it sends the lowest cost unit from hand to add two units to the EX pocket.
Break Away is legit "just draw the out" vibes.. Its why im running 3 disarm in any green rn. I've liked the matchup cause its very chorerographed, so you can plan your attack, but as red or purple its way worse. And the 10 unit cards are so fun LOL. I keep trying them in 2 color, with the mill card u mentioned
U can see other peoples decks on the last page in game, where the "teppen channel" is. Otherwise the only place people really share tips is the discord channel for the r/teppen subreddit (not too hard to find) As for tip, i always search whatever mechanis I'm using like "burn/remove" or "revenge" to start, then checking what legendaries you can make work is always a good starting place
Thank you to everyone who came out!! Next time i will hopefully know how to restart stream when it crashes😅🤣 AND heres an improved decklist x.com/scontulous/status/1807727807931551785
Yeah, this deck especially needs the supplemental card "Wild Sparring Session" that came out the following season. The decks identity is way more about Heavy Pierce combos after the nerfs to other cards. Still very potent, and it has huge potential built right, but its no longer free wins
Shouldnt be too hard lol, some of greens new cards look *amazing*. Blizzard Buffalo they showed on twitter will be nuts even in older decks like AZ Green Machine. Its a good time to be a green player
@@scontulous Green had always been my favorite. I had a killer Nero deck a few years ago when Breath of Fire was introduced that dominated. "Squash this" ... Aka watch this
Green is always the color i come back to too🌱 And I'm always making weird puns when I play Teppen LOL. My favorite is when Wesker says "I'll give you 5 minutes... Make them count." I like to replace minutes with things that he needs counted or taught how to count🤔😂 "I'll give you five baby monkeys. Make them count." IDK
@@reeseblakeney7917 thats SICK. There's been discourse on how to draw Overload cards, but just sending them right to graveyard is broken. I wonder if b/p overload can work in standard🤔I cant wait to see that
this is so sad. that 1HP was the whole reason i played the card... but ya, I think it _does_ matter just more than it seems, but only with the other nerf to make Yumekichi summoning Chun weaker mid-late game. Playing Chun from hand or Monke Turn 1 and the other cheese will still be just as OP sadly
I think more of her will be pretty fun for the meta lol. Banish/machines are both way cool and could even help check combo decks like Devil Breaker and Shadow Blade
Hey Scontulous! I don't really play TEPPEN competitively, *at all,* but I was still wondering if there were any decent decks you can make with mostly or only Monster Hunter cards. I was hoping to make a themed deck I could use for most single-player challenges.
Hmm, if you play Adventure Mode theres this one relic Blessing of the Dagger for any monster focused deck. I liked playing "Big Green" with 3xShara Ishvalda (ATH) and 3xSturdy Sounder, Fist Mark on the Head, then i played a few "Revives" like Gold Orb and the other main unit i used was 3xValvole and Triceratops. Phoenix Wright>Brilliant Turnabout was the deck's big payoff. Its an old kinda slow deck but its neat and can be improved i think, just the first thing I thought of Red can also do the same kinda thing better with stuff like 3xGreat Izuchi, 3xDarius, Recharged Soul Zinogre and the Admiral. I did a video on the archetype (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DYpV_PpOm78.htmlsi=w3mTYTyw9qFj9Mm6), just pick uour favorite red monsters and this deck steamrolls If u want something more low to the ground RankDropper's deck game 1 here was SICK lol And the last deck i would mention: Black Uroboros Mill with Shen Gaoren, Storm Of Death and Nakarkos. Its up to u which other units you want to summon from Graveyard, if any, but the Astalos rider Traitor Tyrant Ramarsh is blacks strongest Monster Hope that helps!!😁
Massimo didn't activate 11:54 because you had 16 cards in deck. He doesn't count it going down to 15 when you play him. Ains should have told you but bullied you. 😥
I had confused the Order of Operations with how actions like that work😵💫at least it wasnt as bad as either Raging Demon match. Idk how to not misplay a lot while talking😂
Community resources are unfortunately limited... I recommend the r/Teppen discord server, people share decks there a lot. Also, on Twitter #teppen or #teppen_deck is used by JP players sometimes. Lastly, in-game has 2 goos resources. If you go to the last page, the teppen channel shows a bunch of replays with deck lists every day. These are known to favor close/long matches more than the strongest tho. And, once each month teppenthegame.com has a new article of the Top 3 most popular decks.
