Pardonnez-moi, ce ne sont pas des "snails", ce sont des "escargots". Seriously, no self-respect gastronomist says he/she eats these gastropods as "snails." In the parlance of "haute cuisine," they should be called "escargots". So Vietnam dish "Oc hap gung or nuoc dua" should be called "escargot with ginger infusion," or "coconut-braised escargot", likewise, "escargot noodle" instead of "bun oc".
@@curiousaboutvietnam I researched this possibility. The problem is chick-fil-a is 100% family owned. They do not allow any other investors. Vietnam Requires at least a 51% Ownership of a business operating in vietnam ... So for chick-fil-a to have a restaurant in Vietnam, They would have to allow partial vietnamese ownership ... Oh well... Maybe someday somebody will compromise
I really miss your long form videos. I wish you would make them again and just grab clips for your shorts. I understand it's more editing but it's also worth it IMO. anyway love you guys hope to meet one day.
Thank you for your comment, that's super nice to hear! :) I am planning on doing more long-form content, but I'm going to be doing it on my own. FOB is going to another channel probably. :)
I bet you have never eaten at vegan buffet restaurants in Saigon where you can eat and eat and drink anything, but pay what you want to pay. In addition to that, there are a lot of restaurants serving migrant workers, retired people, and poor or needy people that either cost nothing or only 20,000 VNDi.e. less than USD 1.
Wait a second ... wait a second ... You must add 1. Vietnam is the only country in the world where you can find people using their feet to paddle the boats!!! 2. Vietnam is the only country in the world where the local fishermen use bamboo baskets as boats. 3. Vietnam is the only country in the world where they use all parts of the banana plant as food for both humans and pigs as well as turn them into items for daily use. 4. After the war, the locals cut off live and unexploded American bombs to make pots and pans.
After trip to Hanoi.... Used T-Mobile (magenta?) which includes international data and text and it was faster than in Korea (it seems like Korea phone companies purposely slowed down my wifi or prioritized Korean phones over mine in crowded places). Never once did I felt unsafe crossing the street...just watch out for cars and scooters will do their thing going around you. Ate local eateries...totally fine. Ate ice that came with sugar cane drink...totally fine. It was uncomfortable....Don't go during Summer months. I have hiked 3 trails in Death Valley in 128F dry heat and Hanoi's June 97 with humidity felt worse. When people ask, I tell them I loved everything about Hanoi, except the heat. On the flip side, back home, 97 degree dry heat feels pretty nice.
All great points.. I felt like 2023 Spring summer in Hanoi was way less suffocating than 2024. It can get pretty humid out there, for sure. Death Valley looks and feels like MARS! :)
