3:03 I tapped out of Naruto around around when Neji died and kind of vowed never to come back when I found out the 'final boss' of the series was essentially a ninja space alien. I was kind of indifferent to Naruto's character design and liked a lot of the Shippuden design changes but YEAH these designs are like shifting from Stardust Crusaders JoJo designs to JoJolion designs but like you DIDN'T get like, Stone Ocean, or Steel Ball Run to get you used to the changes in a step by step process.
The biggest sin of Boruto is it taking place not so long after Naruto. If the writers just put this series 200 years later and explore how this world would change over that time, it would be a way better take. Also, I do feel like it was an executive decision somewhere. "We can't remove the original Naruto characters! It will drop the viewership! Shove them right back in and make the new main character the son of Naruto!"
I love videos like this accurately critquing what's bad about Boruto, because the hate is not baseless, and we need to hold Boruto to a higher standard
Eida is a non combatant. Look at the how fashion in Japan changed when they became modernized. This video is so dumb, cyborg doesn’t not mean full on robot, you’d know that is you read more than the wiki to review a show🤣🤣🤣🤣

i personally think that OG naruto is better in every possible way, the character designs, the story, the world building, Boruto and even Shipuden lose the vision the origional story had....
Well that's a surface level criticism. None of these 3 characters name mentioned in the video were ninjas. Not to mention Eida and Sumire are not fighters. Essentially they have different aesthetic from Naruto because it's a different artist. It's been known that Ikemoto designed Zabuza and Haku so this is more like Ikemoto had to adapt to the era change from the traditional ninjas. I agree the part about Boruto especially the manga has very terrible world-building. And I personally dislike both the pre- and post-timeskip Sarada design. This video is just another Boruto slander but you should've watched the shit first before doing that
In all fairness, Sumire and Eida are not fighters. Eida has the undying love and loyalty of 99.99999999999% whoever lays eyes on her. Even people who know they are being affected by this ability cant act against her without having an aneurysm. For the uber tiny number of people who dont fall in love with her, Damon fights them. Sumire is a scientist. After she was a spy(which wasnt covered by the manga) she retired from ninja life and became a scientist. They dont have to worry about heels in combat because they dont do combat. As for Sarada... i got nothin. Ikemoto glams the girls up too much. But if we want to into the discussion of unrealistic footwear, these people go into world war wearing open toed sandals
i haven't seen boruto and i'm not even a naruto fan, but i don't like the trope of main characters making kids with other main/supporting cast just because an author wants to make a new generation, and there's no creativity, but a recycling of tropes. shaman king's author made the same thing as naruto's author. i just hope one piece author wouldn't do this
since eida isn't really a fighter, her ability is all mind related & her brother fights for her when she's in danger, along with the fact that her dressing more glammed up makes sense for her as a big part of her character is her wanting to be desired & loved, so i believe she would wear that so i don't really have a problem with her design in isolation. i think it would be a pretty interesting design choice to have her be the only character who doesn't wear ninja attire, creating a point of contrast, however considering other characters have the problems you mentioned it makes eida's design seem like part of the problem rather than an intentional subversion, so i won't give any credit as that being the intention, nonetheless i don't think her design needs to be changed, but rather context (the other female characters designs) in which it exists. sarada is the most offensive to me because taking into account her character and how methodical, put together, & responsible her character is, her wearing heels is laughable, like it simply does not make sense for her character, designs should look good just from an art perspective but from a character perspective, she would definitely prioritize comfortability & utility, so she could get the job that needs to be done, done

There is this gacha game called Honkai Impact where all the girls are usually fighting in high heels. Why? I have no idea. This isn’t for story. This was just to sell 2D waifus to gamers. If you want to sell a 2D waifu to a nerd that has no way to interact with content other than seeing it, the consistency has to be better. You can’t convince a nerd a high heel girl fighter is cool compared to when you can give a gamer the driver seat.

I saw a bit of boruto and i couldn't put my finger on it why i hated it so much also trying to force myself to like it because i liked Naruto and i didnt want it to end but now i have to come to terms... the amount of hate i have for ikemoto's art has shaved YEARS off my life, its disgusting. i knew when i saw him draw adult Sakura and Hinata and just like...no. they are so EGGSHAPED nd round and just..ugh..dont even get my started on the YOUNG girls like wtf man, why?! it makes me even sadder that kishimoto approves this nonsense. its just so sad to see
