I love Timothee Chalamat and Austin Butler but I lived through thr Bob Dylan era and he was just plain boring, how can you make an interesting movie on his life?
why on earth would you compare elton john to legendary Bob Dylan? Elton is good, but no. He has the same formula in EVERY SINGLE SONG: 1st verse, chorus, 2nd verse, chorus, 1st verse repeated, chorus repeated.... Bob Dylan stands alone and Chalamet better do his best to sound like the Legend.
Can't wait to see his performance. Love that Baez will be featured in the movie also. As we all know, Joan has a supreme, many octave range. Hoping for the best.
I haven’t seen Chalamet’s acting in anything yet, but I have to say, it’s really difficult to not see him as a Nancy Wheeler lookalike every time I see him. I can’t see anything of Dylan in him, so he’s going to have some serious acting chops to make up for the cognitive dissonance.

Wait til Robert Zimmerman, and the Bob Dylan he morphed into , are dead at least a decade or two..as for now i think any body who finds Dylan's "early years" mildly interesting is because they were winding their way through those untraveled times themselves and are still reflecting on their own journies...and those under 50, consider him "one more brick in the wall" of their parents or grandparents generation
Is Dylan finally melting? With this guy directing. Dylan must be waiting to die and his vanity is finally showing through. Being religious he probably thinks there is an after life and doesn't want people making stories after his death as if saying it himself would prevent it. I am not there was perfect. This is not going to live up to it. I just say, I am.ambivalent about it; on the one hand I am glad that Dylan is no longer extraordinary but I am also sad for the same reasons. Motorbike accident that was never there.

Timothy Chalamet is good casting to play Bob Dylan, I think. Much like his recent performance as Willy Wonka, Dylan is a strange genius - an extraordinarily talented and charismatic outsider determined to follow his own path.
I think we all already know it's going to be a huge hit. Smart cast choices..... Timothee Chalamet alone will have us flocking to see it. I'm really looking forward to it!

One was a struggling artist who was told multiple times he’d never make it anywhere in life/ race riots etc he’s exactly the same as the stage kid who gave his entire college class chlamydia. Basically the same.
