Years ago, a friend of mine randomly saw Charlton Heston at a restaurant. When asked to order, my friend asked for "soylent green." Heston turned around and winked at him 😂
Ah Regis! One of a kind.!Look how funny and carefree he is with Kathie Lee. Then that Ripa woman ruined everything. His biggest mistake was selecting that narcissist as his co host
Jason Colby was insane to let Sable go! If in real life Charlton Heaton dumped Stephanie Beacham he would have been sectioned. Stephanie is gorgeous in this clip and looks even younger than her then real age.
If you think Australia's Liam Barlett was rude to Joan Collins in this interview, then you should have heard his Kiwi counterpart Paul Holmes disrespecting her in their televised chat back in the day. He was just plain nasty and here is a quote that I have always remembered from his interrogation of (now Dame) Joan about her then-recent Playboy shoot; "Are you sure it wasn't just a vain attempt to convince the world that you still had what you never had in the first place?" I tell ya wot, if I was the irrational type, my television screen would have been kicked in immediately while that dreadful man's face was still broadcasting on it. While at home my blood was boiling, Ms. Collins was (of course) cool, calm, collected and classy until the bitter end of the interview. Meanwhile, Paul Holmes hasbeen (get it?) dead for years and in 2024 Mrs. Percy Gibson is still living her best life and thriving.
Yesterday, I watched another RU-vid video about Charlton Heston's last years. It made me very sad to see that Heston had become so feeble in old age and that he was suffering from Alzheimer's. It made a great impression on me and I couldn't forget it. I am in my early 80s and I have a mobility problem (plus severe osteoarthritis.) When I saw Heston - who had such a strong physique in "Ben Hur" - walking slowly just like an old man, it was very sobering to watch. I recalled Leon Trotsky's observation: "Old age is the most UNEXPECTED of all things that happen to a man."
One of my favorite actors I've always liked him except for the religion stuff. Yet given his situation I can understand how he would need something to rely on. I hope he didn't suffer too much before he went. Getting old my grandpa said isn't for sissies.
There was no need for that interviewer, he's an interviewer he shouldnt be like that, it's Joan, what u see is what u get, personally I like her, she has layers x
Joan has a much better interview with the Pioneers. She's asked pertinent questions and given time to explain them. They also respect her, which isn't something this guy is doing.
What a man, what a legend, what a fine way to say goodbye to everyone that loved him from afar. I remember watching him and President Reagan wither away. It was painful. This interview makes it a bit better.
Yeah, he presents it as if she is the difficult one; the one looking for a fight who cannot help herself but get into scraps. No, dude, YOU are the difficult one; the one looking for a fight who cannot help yourself but push buttons. She's simply a confident woman who doesn't take your petty attempts to stir shit up. She is an icon; you're a wannabe.
Dynasty, Dallas and Knots Landings always remind of the time I spent with my mom. It was just "us" time. We talked about everything and anything, some not related to the shows. When I "came out" of the closet of course my mom was the first person. I did it right when Stephen shared on Dynasty. My mom said" I knew, so let's just continue the show and that I'm the only son and not daughter that watched the show out of all her friends. We laughed and to this day it was never an issue including my dad.
The biggest mistake he made here is he didn't build a rapport with Joan, before the interview. He also thought he'd done his homework by just reading her book, but failed to know the do's and don'ts of questioning someone like her. She needs constant flattery and SHE will do the self deprecating. Never try it the other way around. Yikes!
