I want to understand how they work? Can they be charged with a 12 volt battery ? Battery is direct current how are they charged in a microwave? And what determines when it releases its charger ?
At first glance it appears that microwave oven caps are inductive. No attempt seems to have been made to extend the plates beyond the dielectric for parallel connection. Bummer.
I wonder that magnetic amplifier was very popular in 60's and I worked on many machines untill mid 80's then it suddenly vanished because cheaper SCR and IGBT based inverters and opamp based electronic amplifiers. I still believe that it's cheapest and most simple to control motors and use in amplifies so far
The thing that tripped me up about saturable reactors when I first learned about them in school was this: XL = 2piFL, where XL = inductive reactance, F = frequency, L = inductance. So, a fixed inductor (normally) has a fixed inductance "L" and for a given frequency, the XL (the 'AC resistance' to AC current flow) is also fixed. But what happens is this: CASE #1: the core is 'off' (not saturated). The magnetic permeability (the ease that the AC current has in producing a magnetic field in the core) is LOW. So not much AC current flows. CASE #2: the core is switched 'on' by a small DC current applied to the control winding - ie. the magnetic core is purposely, magnetically saturated. This decreases the magnetic permeability of the core as the H field increases, and makes it vastly easier for the AC current to establish a magnetic field and thus greater AC current flows. One way I used to think about it was this: - a swimming pool has a slide with no water on it - someone tries to slide down and makes very slow progress - then water is added to saturate the pool slide - now someone slides down very easily, since the slide is saturated with water The 'impedance' of the slide is very high when it is dry. The 'impedance' of the slide drops immensely when it is saturated with water. .
Wouldn’t you run it all the time so you can have a high compression, like say 11 to 1 but get away with using cheap 94 Octane E10 fuel? Isn’t that the point of water injection? High compression performance on cheap fuel.

This video is Fantastic!! Very clear and easy to follow. I am still having an issue with my dryer as the nut that secures the bearing to the centre of the drum keeps loosening when I turn the dryer on. I have some photos of the bearingS. Would I be able to send you the pic so you can hopefully help me solve the issue pls? My diagnosis is that one of the bearings are worn and after watching your video I would have to use the adhesive threadlock.
HI i have the same dryer and the drum moves freely when i put my hands inside to check the drum. its like it is unbalanced. i have noticed the retaining ring at the bottom has started to shread. Is this a possible bearing issue?
This is a genius build! I need this for jewelry wire and DIY jobs and some salvage too. What is the size of your steel wheels? I find steel pulley wheels on Amazon but they are 22mm- 35mm (1.25") in outer diameter. I'd love to know your wheel diameter and width? This would be very helpful. Tough to find detached wheels in any larger size in metal... without paying a fortune. I would love to know why you have two planes for your wheels. Why not mount all the wheels horizontally or vertically? Why have an L-shaped mount? Is this because you are straightening the wire out on either sides? to build a replica for yhe injector simply just take t conector,1/2 pipe,internal rod and ppr for fixing it and electrical izolation.Suited for induction heting,dielectric heating,ionic heatting of water.very good for gasses.see wfc 423
