As long as I can remember I've been a film fanatic. It has been a passion, a passion I want to share with you. On this channel, I will be reviewing films, boutique blu-rays and streaming services. I'm a huge fan of physical media and you will see that a lot through my content. I look forward to talking to you about film.

I definitely agree. This film is very weird but that’s what I like about it. 👍 I would guess that him being compared to a gangster is intentional because the movie is called “the Hitler gang”. maybe the people who made this movie forgot that some people like gangsters 😬
I like Truffaut’s films so was planning on getting this. Thankfully your review hasn’t thrown up anything to change my mind. There are a few other of the director’s films that I’d like to see, so I’m hoping that Radiance has that in hand! Cheers, Graham!
Great to hear you loved this, Graham. I really admire this film as well, but it has been over 15 years since I saw it last when I used for my thesis at University and the copy back then was not that great. So I will definitely purchase this, as it is as you rightfully said a must in your collection. Will probably pick up some other Radiance titles while I'm at it, their library is quite interesting as I for instance love Messiah of Evil as well.
among my all time favorites! actually went twice when released... only a handful of films have this much quirky power, maybe time bandits or stranger than paradise.. the eighties was a good time for original films
How can you not love a low-rent junky Police Academy rip-off? I bet you hate Night Patrol too. Hey there's only one Police Academy. Even Police Academy 2-9 suck! Vice Academy is better!
The first time I heard about the movie was when I was a wee lad and part of a VHS documentary series on dinosaurs and Kaijus, and my young mind was intrigued. Years later I saw it as part of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 series, and it didn't put it in a good light. I would consider seeing it again, especially in 4K. I am quite happy to own Gorgo, and I love my Kaiju movies, no matter how absurd they may be!
I hope we get more UK releases of Kiaju/ Giant monster movies especially the Japanese ones ( Rodan, War of the gargantuans and Ghidorah the three headed monster )
@@manvfilm Eureka did Mothra which was in an incredible boxset but dunno why its taking so long to get more TOHO are a very strict company with releases especially in the UK/EU still waiting on Minus one.
Graham, for me this looks like another great month of announcements from Radiance. Seems like a nice variety of genres and dramas, so I’ll probably just get the 10% bundle offer and grab everything again. I haven’t seen Adele H in decades. I’m not the biggest costume drama fan but I do remember that Isabelle Adjani was mesmerising.
I just watched my disc of Burning Paradise from VS over the weekend, and I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. It had great action and a nice horror element, but I also found it to be far funnier than I expected from the trailers. I particularly enjoyed the old master character!
It’s the thing with these Asian films you never know where they’re going to go. The shift in tone is crazy, there’s no boundary they won’t cross to crack a joke.
I’ve not seen it and don’t want to. I don’t mind a reworking of the Ripper story from late 19th century London, but not poor attempts to transfer the original crimes to somewhere entirely different. I’m not really sure that the Ripper crimes haven’t been done to death (no pun intended) already. It would take something new to make something interesting out of those events at this stage. Someone somewhere might have a fresh twist to take, but I’m not holding my breath. (It’s so difficult to avoid puns sometimes).
I kept hearing about how bad this movie was but I have to say, I really enjoyed it. It was really charming and fun. I liked the characters enough and I thought the effects were decent for the budget. Pleasantly surprised by this one
I disagree with that. I actually thought he was the weakest part of the film. I found the movie to be pretty charming and entertaining. But, I love these low budget films
I had the VHS in the early 90's. I watched that movie most days. The incredible cast. 42 Years old and still one of my favourite movies. I never watched the remake with bikes, just in respect to this beauty.
I just discovered Italian westerns...their way grittier than american westerns i grew up seeing. Im also starting to collect these movies..their great!
