I've had the Legend for 1yr now. Great machine. I hear folks complain about the menu/navigation of this machine. I really like the menu system of this machine and I also like the fact that the control box has NINE buttons. And as such, I don't have to search through a menu system to find common tasks/functions.... such as freq. change, ground balance, Discrimination, etc. Yes the Manticore has a really slick, well-designed menu, but, an experienced Legend owner can make on-the-fly changes faster than an experienced Manti user... for what it's worth.
Thanks for the reply. I disagree with you, not because what you say is wrong. Once someone masters the machine, then it dosent matter how good or bad the menu/settings are laid out.... My point was that for beginners, it is very confusing, and that hurts sales. Also it increases the chance of people continuing the hobby... Simple is always better...
@luigiprovencher8888 varies by model. Usually in the beginning you will see a couple. After they get it ironed out, it may be 6 months to a year. Really no way to tell other than checking the website, or having someone on Ytube announce it.

I can't see the gas bottle but there is a safety valve built into the bottle ,i think u may have set it of , also reomve the hose and check no critters have set up home in it ,u have reduced gas flow probably nothing to do withcthe grill u need to check it out what aboyt a faulty valve ,sounds more user error get a airline and blow everthing out ,i had a1lb bottle freeze on a warm night with it as the gas demand is quite high ,it was a75% butane mix which cant go from liquid to gas quick enough to supply it resulting in reduced flame
I don't remember now it was under the requirements, and my first wing was heavier than the one now. I don't have a way to weigh it now, or I would. Also I will be selling it soon as I'm not flying much Anymore
I really appreciate you making this video and it was desperately needed. Would it be possible ti use this ball valve directly in line with my pressure washing hose. I can't find a psi rating, but it's a DN15 ball valve, and i currently use a DN10 ballvalve at the end of my hose. Thank you 😊
I'm glad that I went with the update kit, the LG30 coil crapped out on me during a cruise, and that was the only coil I took. Now I have the LG28 to fall back to.
I walk right into the water here in Daytona beach with no change I sound. Been using it here over 2 years . I have no Emi in my machine and run 96 -97 no problem. YouMight need to frequency scan to clear it. I hunt next to minlabs regularly with no interference. Might need to get yours checked out!
Good review I have had mine going on 5 years this year and still works good. The main thing I found is keep them clean. I have gotten a couple of bad fuel cans so I did as you and bought the hose kit to use a 20lb cylinder. I just bought a new 4 burner infrared grill to try out. Hope it works as good as the small one.
Hey ty for the awesome video. So I am brand new to metal detecting. If I was going to take 400 and buy something I'd like to do beach hunting and parks and wooded areas. What would you suggest for my hard earned dollar. I'd really appreciate your suggestions.
The legend is 1/2 the price, and built 10 times better. Minelab lost my trust with the Equinox leaks and broken coil ears. The Manticore has my interest because of ease of menus, but if I can just use the legend enough, I’ll remember how to set it up, I struggle now, lol
Yes! Of course, it's good; it is an entry-level detector. Look at the price and think, is this going to do what a higher price detector will do. I have hunted with friends and found just as many items as, say, Nokta Legend. The beach is good, and the parks are good. You will find what many other detectorists find without any problems. It's also the skill of the user and practice. If you want to dig 15 inches in the sand, no problem. However, there are elements that change the search.
I totally agree with the menu topic. I don’t know the technical challenges of incorporating a Drop down worded menu but it would make life much easier.
@@FreeAmericanSpirit i even went as far too program both valves to run simultaneously on the same button. One button will close one valve and open the other! Super nice
I'm 64 years old, been an analogue hunter for a "wee while". Changed from my Tejon to a digital screen machine when the DST75 came out, worked the 75 and my 19 till 2021 when I bought a Legend. I found the machine so easy to programme. Not complicated at all, for me, but everyone's an individual. SMF is ok, no machine is perfect, but I prefer my 75 and 19,: For my types of hunting. Minelab says Equ 800.......et al SMF machines obsoletes SF ones. I say,: Why'd you put alternative SF options on your SMF then?
Because SMF has many advantages and the SMF machines can do SF too, which is also good in EMI infested places. The SMF machines are better because they are polyvalent. SMF machines can also be used as SF so it makes the SF only machines kinda obsolete.
I love SMF because you can use inland to the sea. The reason they put single options is because places I hunt with horrible EMI, you cannot use SMF, so switching to single frequency I can dial in one that usually works. I recently took the Legend to a place I and others have pounded since the early 70’s. I’ve only found 2 or 3 civil war buttons in this place, and so many detectors won’t work here. I popped out an Eagle cuff button 20’ from the road, out in the wide open. 2 weeks ago Ihit a confederate camp that was pounded 50 years ago. I used the 6” round coil, got a minnie ball, a round ball and a nice confederate block I button, so liking the Legend. My Deus 2 locked up when I went to update it, need the 9” coil for the wall to wall trash.
First metal detector I picked up as a beginner. It works really well , and the tips given on youtube and some metal detecting forums really helped with using the machine properly.

I'm not a beginner so it would not do the things I need it to do. Point of my videos is to show beginners a little of the negatives of detectors, so maybe they make a little better choice based on their needs....

@@diggingnashvegas gig just got one to review he put out an air test vid. He will be doing more testing with it soon. I did like the fact that the buttons are not black now. I called the factory to see if it has the same chip set/firmware as the LeGend and they do not.... For a beginner 425 for a detector with headphones and a carbon fiber shaft that's not bad. Some others have said it does good on the beach... I may get one just to play around with it...
It's my goto unit I'm on v1.10v2 best version. But I may decide to update when the tech deep mode becomes avail. I have 11 machines. Non better or rather deeper
I used to keep machines but after about 100 I got over it. Now I just sell them.or give them.away at times... Back in the day when I was young you basically had to carry a couple, for different types of hunting not to mention a poop ton of batteries. That's without a back up....

Minelab does get us on buying aftermarket headphones. But i was fully aware of that when i bought the machine. I had already been thru five different machines with 15 years of metal detecting expierence. I used it as my main machine in the water, underwater and on land this summer. Found over 50 rings with it. Over 250$ in clad. 5 gold rings, 3 with diamonds, and a gold cross. And some silver....Apple watch, 7 pair of sunglasses, with a brand new pair of Oakleys that i wear now. Always wanted a pair of Oakleys. Now i dont have to buy one. Best machine i ever used.
I gave mine to a friend to get him started. For a cheap detector it is ok., just not one that can fulfill my needs.... If you like it that's all that really matters.

@@lancepeterson5408 currently I use a deus 2 and a legend as a backup. 70 percent of my time is used on beach/hookah hunting. The rest is used cache hunting that involves these and other equipment. Wish I had the deus 2 back for all those decades I did relic hunting.... Ive have never been a big park or coin shooter usually a couple times a year but mostly to test out detectors. I also do a lot of curb strips but that's just because I walk everyday...
@@lancepeterson5408 I mostly stick with wired as well. I'm just so used to it... My legend is wireless I need to get a water proof set with the wire, just haven't gotten around to it because it is my back up and I sue it a lot on the curb strips during my walks. I also use it less because it weighs 2 times what the deus does....

Yes. It was pressure treated. Now it's all aluminum no wood, probably twice as strong as it ever was. I have a ton of film to do more vids but I just haven't got around to it. Boat is done... Saving for a motor. Thanks for watching
