I do this every morning first thing while the kettle boils 😂. Do it first thing for the ultimate start to the day! Even got my 8yr old daughter doing it (Not for as long) and she's never been ready for school as quick 👍.
Is this where you tell me you have a fast boiling kettle too? 🤣 I'll have to remember to tell my daughter she's going in. I think she'd be ready for school before I'd even finished my sentence!
Great vid! Have to confess first one I have watched!! I’m in absolute awe of you doing this let alone filming! I also LOVE that Lena is growing up with this as a normality and excited about taking part! So proud of you as always x
@@andreasgotz7537 thank you! Hope you enjoyed those famous 13.1 miles! The 5K has been on the Friday night before the GNR for a few years and is set for next year too, if you're up in the area already it's a good warm up event.
Great Video! & so lovely to be able to re-live the day ❤ It was my first GNR & I so enjoyed being part of Team Dementia UK ❤ The support & goodies all of the way around inspit of the wet conditions was truly awesome. "Happy & safe Running" till the next one!!❤
@@janetbradford2026 thank you for watching and I'm glad it helps you relive a great accomplishment! Well done for running and even more so for a great cause (one that's close to my heart) hope to see you at the start line next year!
Won't lie, the run looks great and I do enjoy my rejection emails every year. But the waiting around would do my head in. 10:55 start and you crossed the start line at 11:25 ish.....60k runners is probably the max where they're at now. Shame no crowds on the tyne bridge cos of the weather (or what ever reason there was)
@@kevinscott4938 hard to argue against anything you've said. The waiting around sucks, in the rain it's even worse. This has to be the limit from a safety and runner's experience pov. Anymore and it's a cash grab. Tyne Bridge is being painted/restored so no spectators this year. No red arrows either as they were in Canada. Still lots to enjoy though!
@@rollercoasterofrunning Wouldn't have been able to see the Red Arrows anyway, so foggy haha. Well done and like you, deepy saddened to hear the young man lost his life on the run. Great event, I agree with you about the bottlenecks - I think they sub-divided too much - they should have just filled up Orange from the front, Green from the front of green etc. Restricting the entrances to three small B, C, D, etc sub-waves either side was too much and constricted people flow too much, hence the queues. The waiting around gave me a bad back. I'd imagine there's no perfect way of moving 60,000 people quickly into position from the part to the start, but hopefully they have another go doing something different next year. Well done again
@@JoeKeaveney agree with all your points and yeah the red arrows might have been a bit hard to pick out like the fireworks at the beginning! I hope they listen to feedback and begin to trust people again as the high fences and small entrance points aren't working. Will still be there again next year though! Well done to you too and hope the back isn't too bad a couple of days on.
I can't like this comment as it would have been good to see you buddy! I was looking out for you as I thought there was no way you'd miss this one. Hope to catch you soon 😁
appreciate that! Thank you for watching and I've got to say, I'm more of a morning runner and need to get out of my comfort zone for summer evening runs!
I'm a Garmin guy so I don't. But you should be able to find the route at durhamcityrunfestival.com if that helps? I hope you enjoy some hill work though 😅
@@jamieadams3281 thanks Jamie appreciate that! I often don't feel like eating straight after a run so I'm with you on a nice cold drink at the finish line too 🤘🏻
Great vid and good running sir. That’s me walking at 9k in the light blue top, 14.45 in the vid - the shame! I did manage that (slight) sprint finish at 15.44 though! Hope your training is going well 🙂
@@DeeJay_78 Thanks for watching! I think we were swapping places a few times in the last few kms or so 😂 Well done on finishing that's all that matters!
@@rollercoasterofrunning Absolutely! I found the second half very tough, probs went too quick the first 5k as usual. Not too chuffed with my time, but like you say, getting through it is all that matters! Good running 🙂
@@PoetWithPace Really well organised and glad you enjoyed it too! Make sure you say hi if you see me around, I'll no doubt be the one struggling along with a camera in hand 🤣
@@SwimBikeRunStu from my previous experience the GNR is even busier with 10x the amount of runners. It feels busy at times but it also makes for a great atmosphere, if you see me there make sure you say hello!
@@marcelopoku-owusu3723 yeah thankfully everyone around us seemed to be patient. At least the Great North Run will all be one way traffic! I actually saw you heading up that hill just after the Tyne Bridge but was on the opposite side. Hope you enjoyed it 🤘🏻
Fair play to the two of you for taking this on ! I love that it's something original, the mystery element will appeal to a lot of people and it looked like loads of fun :)
Thank you 🤘🏻 some wise words there! It somehow always feels like every course is more uphill than down even when the watch says otherwise. It's such a beautiful part of the world
He did indeed! He's actually a runDisney celeb, always dresses up as Captain Jack, he's constantly being asked for photos and it's fun to be running near him as you see the smiles on everyone's faces when they see him.
Good effort. I start a run with a target time in mind then keep a close eye on my time for each km. I'm constantly keeping a running total of how much I'm under or over my target. Keeps the old brain occupied and stops me dwelling on how knackered I am lol.
It's one of the things I love about running. I try not to think of anything outside of how my body is feeling and what pace can I get for the next 1km or mile. Great suggestion 🤘🏻
Smashed it ! As Jenny said, it's nice to see it from the runners point of view. Watching on the TV you see the massive crowds but you don't realise the magnitude of it until you see how tight some of the roads get and how close the crowd is on top of you. Also love the POV when you were going under the motorway bridge, that's not something I've seen before.
@@rollercoasterofrunning we'd have to include a disclaimer and small print that other people's buns may not look as great as mine when other folks wear them haha x
Far from an average guy!! Love the content and the journey and great to see your confidence grow with it all!!! Let’s get that run in the diary sooner rather then later!!
