I main pyro and it doesn't matter if I see 1 or 100 enemies, I'm going in and burning some of them cuz if they get on fire, they have to prob go out of the fight for a little bit to heal
The only time I feel the vita-saw works is for medics that want insurance incase stuff goes sideways. +25% Uber is nice but won't mean something if you die right after getting a swing in and 7/9 classes are so much better at killing Medic then you are as a medic. Scout, Soldiers, (Kunai) Spy are more then happy to Kamikazi and get in your face to trade a med pick. This is when the the Vita-saw shines to let you get 1-2 swings to help you retain charge while dead. Though generally the Ubersaw is better in most cases assuming you a not just wildly charging the enemy for a free +25%. Your job as a medic is to stay alive and be able to provide consistent healing to your team and charging foes with that does not work out.
Whenever i use the Amputator, I just try and use it whenever there's a spot I can hide behind and a few teamates to heal. Whenever this happens, I go behind cover, swap to the Amputator, press m2, wait for the taunt to finish, then play medic. I don't STAND I SOME RANDOM PART OF BADWATER FIRST AND DO THE FUNNY VIOLIN SAW HEAL MANEUVER WHEN THERE'S BARELY ANY HEALING TO DO! I only try to use the Amputator during oportune times (very rarely) and otherwise just play normal medic, so not standing with my back to a wall spamming a taunt. If your gonna use ot, ot's gonna be niche, so if you don't like havong a thing ypur not gonna use much equipped, don't, but I will. I agree with everything else (I think) though.
I would propose a change for the vitasaw so it would be more viable vs. the ubersaw IN CASUAL. Keep percentages the same, but give medic +5 max hp and +1hp/s for every organ they gathered (from 140hp to a max of 160hp, +4hp/s max). This would make for a fun and unique medic upside that drastically increases his survivability against blood debuff and fire, while also keeping 60% of his ubercharge upon death(which is hardly ever usable).
You are such a moron. Ofc its gonna be ineffective to use the Amputator for 1-2 targets. Its key upside is the ability to heal multiple targets whenever its possible. Like when your team almost got rolled and stays around 1 corner with low health, and you use the amputator to heal them up hundreds of hp in just 4.5 seconds. That is ofc very niche usecase and in other times is much worse than the ubersaw, but there is simply no other weapon that can massively heal infinite amount of targets at once. And that compilation where you decide to stand for 4.5 seconds to heal 1 person is just hilarious. This is not the usecase for it. I would also propose a change for it so that the taunt was infinite and can be cancelled after 1 second of using it. This is a significant buff that partly solves the problem of being stationary and exposed
Would it be so crazy for the other syringe guns to also heal teammates??? I've been thinking about it since the crossbow came out. Make them have similar hps to point blank crossbow shots if you hit all your syringes. Crossbow would still be meta, but the syringes would at least still allow you to perform your main function: healing. Also, I think the stock syringe gun should just have all its syringes in one giant clip like the minigun.
Earlier today I was attack as medic on the first point of Borneo when 4 of my teammates died and I was left alone. Instead of running away I saved myself from afterburn with the amputator, flanked all the away behind back to their spawn, got revenge on a sniper and destroyed both of their teleporters with the blutsauger and hassled them back their for like 4 minutes. The "meta" playstyle with the ubersaw, stock/kritzkrieg, and crossbow is desgined for sixes (where you're healing 4 people at most) and is inherently situational. You are turning down nearly all of your self defense and survival capabilities from the syringe guns and pairing it with a melee that doesn't offer any passive bonuses to compensate. This is great when your team is winning and you're all coordinated, but in real games your teammates are all doing their own thing.
ok hear this argument: if vaxxinator would be stock, and medigun would been added to the game later, would you argue that the medigun is not fun to play against it? the medigun is the king of all mediguns and i dont have to explain why i guess
I disagree with the idea of the vaccinator being a "skillless medigun", I have been trying to play vaccinator for a couple of days now, and I am honestly still overwhelmed even by the small "the enemy is using this weapon, I am on this resistance, to switch to the resistance needed i need to press r this many times" actions. Not to speak that there are much more complicated moves you can pull of, due to the nature of the bubbles (once applied they stay for their duration) you can bubble, switch to crossbow, shoot and switch back. Also there is a pretty high skill ceiling to reacting exactly to what is happening at any moment, you can get to the point of seeing a crit rocket coming your way, switching resistance to explosion and popping a bubble, but that requires great reflexes. Same with recognizing which of your players the enemy actually focusses.
medic has a way higher skill ceiling than a lotta people give it credit for being able to spam crossbow shots, hitting all of them, and barely keeping a heavy player alive while being blasted by a sentry, or predicting the path of someone falling through the sky to save them from death via fall damage, spraying the bolts at 5 diff teammates at once, keeping everyone overhealed so they dont get 1 tapped by the sniper main across the map. all that while keeping yourself alive (since casual teams are hit or miss protecting the medic) its a little more to manage than most classes in the game, most is just aim with the crossbow but 1 insane medic player can carry a washed team
29:20 i've always been quite good at making the spies miss their backstabs for some reason. you don't have to face them, you have to move your cursor in weird ways they can't predict
yawn GOD FORBID medic has a tool that actually challenges his SITUATIONAL AWARENESS in choosing which damage type to choose is so OP BOO HOO we can't make playing medic interesting because that's OP!!! The enemy team to the vac medic should be able to throw one player at a time at the vac medic and win!!!! I HATE HOW VAC MEDICS CAN BE WALLED BY HAVING TWO EBEMIES WITH DIFFERENT DAMAGE TYPES LOL!!!
@@chugbunga1665 If I spend the full charge time scoped in while being completely open to spys or scouts I should at least be able to headshot a light class, also, if the problem was making medic interseting was overpowered, than wouldn't people be crying about the kritzkrieg? No one thinks that weapons broken
Definitely not gone, just haven't found the right spark yet for a new video. I've never been particularly creative, so these videos are a really nice way to push myself to just try random shit. But I want the video idea to be novel and interesting to apply that wacky shit, if that makes sense :)
It blows my mind that he glossed over the Solemn Vow. Also the use case of the syringe gun unlocks isn’t to kill enemies, it’s to boost your survivability while you escape back to your team. The Blutsauger and Overdose accomplish this. He suggests that those unlocks fail at their use-case, but that’s false. What makes them obsolete is that the crossbow exists. All these clips of him running into the enemy team up in a Soldier’s face trying to syringe him makes me not want to like this video :/
Some critiques on the Medic vs Spy match up as some who mostly mains Spy/Engineer, as you appeared to see it from the angle of an experienced Spy 1. Trick Stabs are not nearly as important as you made them out to be, a good spy really only does them occasionally as they know its a 1 trick pony situation 2. A good Spy doesn't go to the same spot to backstab over and over again, this is often referred to as a "Spy Cycle" and is actually discouraged as it as you basically said yourself, makes you predicatable 3. You forgot to mention a few of spy's revolvers and how they do change the match up. Some Spy's use the Enforcer which can directly counter a Medic's Vaccinator with its ability to pierce damage resistances and you'll often see a Good spy running it if they realize the medic(s) have a Vaccinator, it also I think can 2 shot a medic if the Spy shots while cloaked, so often times you gotta be careful of who your healing as a Spy will try and trick you into healing them, then they pull out the enforcer and hit you with 2-3 shots to down you 4. Do not engage with a Spy at mid range if your a Medic, a Good Spy often remembers they have a Gun and will more often than not opt to shoot a lone medic at mid range, Revolvers are Hitscan and the Crossbow is a Projectile, at mid range a Spy who can hit their shots consistently, and if they do use the Enforcer they can and will counter your Vaccinator Uber as well
New Medigun Idea is what I can give you. Uber have 2 Charges (50% to pop one) and last 5 seconds, When Uber with this Gun The Medic basically does a better Counch Buff as AOE Healing like the Amputator but you Moving, Medic target with the Beam Gains the Health on hit (50%) and both Medic and the Target (including Scout) move 20% faster. Medic also have 25 more HP. Downsides, well with this Medic Gun you loss Crit Healing, Don't Build Uber Faster on injure player, and gain less Uber from alternate of healing/gaining Uber. (What this Means is the Meta Picks are less effective when paired up this Medigun, Ubersaw only gives 15% on hit which is still Good but less and the Uber you get from the Crossbow is not that important, and the Amputator also less effective too) This Medigun is not trying to become the Meta but Give Medic some new form of Healing as if he's going be the Main Healer then maybe give him a Kit of not overpower, but unique ways of supporting his team. Also if I was going to nerf Medic Uber Gain rate he needed a Passive upside and more HP was better then more health regeneration or a defensive buff, hey you can't be quick scope now but there no fast way of building Uber, good thing 1 only cost 50%.
