(Updated 2020) I have not published a new video in sometime, but I plan on making more videos again, don't worry I am doing just fine.
The camera market has been declining for the past 7 years or so (perhaps because of the iPhone). I'm currently looking at a different industry which has much greater growth potential. But don't worry I still love cameras and I'm still actively making videos. It's just harder to make a living making from RU-vid when RU-vid's algorithm doesn't seem to like my videos anymore. Since my videos are not being suggested, the desire to share what I am learning has diminished.
I was getting suspicious that my shots were steadier with ibis off than on. I guess I have the same thing you have. I wonder if there's a firmware update
better dont call them D,E,F .. when using 4 permanent Drives, i always go with higher Lettters like W,X,Y,Z because if you plug in some externals like sticks or plug your D,E,F in different usb slots, your PC can give them different Letters or write lets say a stick as your "D" or "E", and when you plug your scratch back in it will automaticly get the next free higher drive letter. And this will unlink the premiere pro, davinci scratch disc location, and only cause chaos. I never LINK D,E,F that the Computer always has these 3 to go with, for externals. One thing that i had to learn over the years because i wasted hours to unlink, link again, delete and reinstall plugins vsts etc. Anyway, thanks for the Video! Just one question,.. why going with a HDD Media Cache (Scratch disk)? SSD would be better, its mucch faster write/read speed EDIT: you answered later :P im not a pro either but im pretty sure a SSD will benefit
Stop questioning yourself and constantly telling us who you are not.. your RESULTS show that you know what you are doing. There's tons of pros that overthink the hell out of this and it's not that crucial. Expose properly and all those "pro level" substances goes with it regardless. You did a fantastic job and you knew what you were doing. Your EXPERIENCE shows you don't need an expensive camera to achieve results and this is living proof that the "consumer camera" outshoots an actual cinema camera. You're experienced and I'm positive you get paid for your work.. you're a professional on another level. Those "pros" you talked to towards the end of he vid sounds to me they have absolutely no idea what they are even talking about, just sounding smart. Either it does or it don't there's no in-between. Keep doing you man, I love this!

Thanks for the video. Note that the mobo has a smaller than normal PSU to mobo connector ;-( If you are going to use a different case & PSU, you will need an adapter.
I downloaded the program you recommended, and did everything you said, except there was no “image count” listed under the Sony tab, I didn’t see Shutter count either
I have had all 5D cameras (exclude mark IV), and for my opinion is 6D better camera for my purpose. Better ergonomic design and wi-fi integrated in body. Only AF is not so good, but I do not take sport photos.
Hi Dave. Can you or anyone please help me with my query? Can I get a 1 TB NVMe SSD and partition it, using one partition (200GB) for the windows OS, and the other partition (300GB) for the Cache files (Davinci Resolve). Are there any drawbacks to this? Or is it necessary to use separate SSDs to fulfill the intended purpose. Thks.
This video has answered the question I had about how much speed is needed and how much is overkill. Could you PLZZZZ make a similar video on what speeds are needed for a dedicated CACHE drive? Have looked and have not found any videos addressing this issue. Thks.
Honeslty. I bought 550d 2 years ago to start somewhere and I can't get enough of this orange color of my videos, it's mesmerizing. I have a lot to learn but just the needs to appreciate this quantum leap that was made 12 years ago by the industry.
How do you open the video version? I have an old video I've been wanting to play but I only have the THM file (thumbnail). How do I recover the video file from a THM?
I've got magic lantern on my camera, when I put the videos into davinci and drop them on my timeline the videos don't look flat until I change the settings in camera metadata can someone tell me if this is right.
i picked up this one on august 2023 from ebay 120$ and i love it so far its my favorite lens. the focus is not the best keep but i love how it have a macro for close up nature shots
