Whenever I go to Disneyland Paris theme park i always hear the whistles in every part of the park, even in the parts that are far away from the railroad, the same thing happens at big thunder mountain, are the other disney parks happen the same with their train whistles or ride sound effects?
Seeing this footage accompanied by Mike and Junior’s music really shows how well they were able to capture and personify each engine’s personality. Gordon feels really grand, Percy feels very squat and cheeky, etc.
Lord knows what became of the stephen’s rocket model he made for our hospitality and very unfortunate that the engines used in the general from that railway in cottage grove, oregon didn’t get preserved. I heard that the engine that fell into the river in that climatic scene was sitting there for a while till its parts were savaged for WW2. But at least there’s the diesels and the buses from Harrison Ford’s the fugitive still around at where they did those shots on the GSMR right of way.
The locomotive in Lady in the Tramp resembles the Grizzly Flats Railroad’s 2-6-0 #2 “Emma Nevada” engine that was owned by the late Ward Kimball from 44:02-44:09.
Now I definitely understand why the Fat Controller is always mad when one of his engines had an accident, I mean look how big they're and probably how expensive for him to get things cleaned
This was the locomotive that opened up the whole game when it dropped in Sid Meier's Railroads! You just had to bide your time until these could start hauling for you.
Casey Junior/Casey Jones Junior decided to chant “I think I can,” and “I thought I could,” over the big hill mountain when he decided to go reach the Joplin, Missouri town.
Infact, Thomas will finally copy what Disney’s Own Sentient Locomotives did with The All Engines Go Reboot as they both did wacky stuff and Have wheels as hands and Feet.
I'm glad I stumbled upon this song on your channel. This song was a part of a featured lineup on a Looney Tunes cartoon episode titled, "One Froggy Evening" A story about a singing frog that made a man's life hysterically miserable. If I remember correctly the frog sang this song once the man was thrown in jail.
Wonderful to see all these examples. The train, and tracks (!) in Our Hospitality are breathtaking. To think that this was filmed within 100 years of the original.
Notice in the reluctant dragon, All men have to do the work while the woman just sits back? It’s a bit sexist for us men. (Just sayin’) but some of the men were very knowledgeable about the sounds used…
I never knew footage of this even existed. Despite the fact all the E2s were scrapped i believe they managed 2 rebuild a replica of Thomas 4 the Thomas and the U.K trip event.
They run that porter in Disneyland as a single, must of sone that to even out her ride. Porters are know to do Rock & Roll as the Railway Series put it.
