In honor of the 65th anniversary of the Grand Canyon Diorama of the Disneyland Railroad, here is the original, rare footage of the dedication and opening of the diorama on 31 March 1958. Here is newly-commissioned engine No.3 Fred Gurley with Excursion 3 being piloted by Walt Disney and AT&SF President Fred G. Gurley with Hopi Chief Nevangnewa blessing the engine and diorama on the occasion. Hope you enjoy and continue to enjoy one of the greatest and, perhaps, most wonderful artistic rendering and diorama of the Grand Canyon.
