Looking forward to seeing part 2 to this video. Hopefully you get to use the Megabass Vision 110 Jr + 1 and the Hazedong shads. I have a similar 110 Jr plus one and the same 3" Hazedong shads and will try and use up here next weekend if the weather holds up for me. Nice pike BTW as that is about the same size my son caught last year this time. 😊
Hope all went well. I met you off caseville Pier in my big boat you and derds I moved here on the lake Huron Saginaw Bay line the big big smallies are tear it up. Good luck and hope to see you and fish with you.
just curious where you are from? I've been looking for someone with a garmin force to try put because I'm looking to upgrade but want to try before I buy.
Ben, when fishing during this early fall transition what depth do you normally start at? I remember in a previous video you talked about starting at the summer depths sometimes
This guy is a big time loser, doesn’t tell you where he’s at or what he’s using but he trades his bait just before . Please, don’t follow this clown around because he doesn’t ad anything. He thinks he knows but he is sub average. He reads from a magazine. Will he help you ? Not a chance .
Exactly the video I was looking for. Have a trip to Anchor Bay next week. Never fished St.Clair for smallmouth so I’ve been really stumped on what to do and where to go.
@@philbass2553 thanks so much Phil! I probably came across a bit ungrateful for the big fish I was catching, but in the moment I was consistently looking for bigger fish :-)
The weather and the fishing looked awesome to me Ben! I’m sure you had an incredible time even though it might have felt difficult for you. ☀️👍🏻😊 Btw- your daughter is adorable!❤
@@bobpayseno7481 thanks Bob! I really appreciate it. The fishing was incredible - part of what makes St Clair so difficult to tournament fish. In a fun fishing day, they would’ve been soooo much fun! Yes, the girls are the best
Listened to this clip on the way to the lake this past Sunday and the comment fish for bites not bigs really panned out for me. Found two wolf packs and caught several bigs and made the entire day very worthwhile and productive. They were all craw eaters and were crushing my craw colored Ned and Tube. No bait fish waters on this trip, but I am headed to areas with inflowing streams / rivers. Let's see if we can expand this pattern.
Yes this under-spin has awesome Drawing power Problem is the barb or lack off Virtually a barbless hook I have lost every Smallmouth bass that have hooked up I use a Halo Hex 7’ ml mod fast spinning rod 3000 reel , 10 pound braid to an 8 pound fluorocarbon leader , drag Set pretty light . I keep a constant Bend on the rod.
Loving the videos lately! That Hubbard one pretty much changed how I’m looking to fish prespawn next year! And it also made me buy a $500 hairjig combo lol
That is such a fun bite with smallies. I just went out Saturday this past weekend and caught probably 15 smallies on topwater using a white walking bait. So much fun.
I recently stumbled on all these things. Nice transition from sand to boulders, scattered wood ( looks like an old wreck ) it’s in about 10-15 feet of water. Couldn’t find a fish oddly enough but will this area produce a little later in the fall? All the elements are there but the depth. I’m a kayak guy so running and gunning is hard to do on a Great Lake lol So finding these gems close to shore is crucial
