Cars, video games, and music. That's what you'll find here. I've always had a passion for these three things. My previous performance vehicles include a 2007 RX8 GT and a 2012 VW GTi.
Gaming wise I streamed on twitch for a year but really gaming is something I enjoy greatly in my free time. I wasn't made for twitch. I've been playing games since the NES and still own a lot of my original retro consoles.
On the music front I am a one man metal band. I play guitar , bass, drums, keyboards. So the music you are hearing is all 100% my creation.
you don't need to do any of this. You can keep the OEM rotors/sizes and upgrade to '91 Z32 4 pot fronts and use '06 STI 2 pot rears and get the brackets from KSNBrakes. Total about $750, with all new stainless steel lines. IMO it's not worth the bigger discs. Also, the z32 calipers (cast iron) fit with OEM wheels. Now if you are tracking seriously, then sure, maybe upgrade the brake sizes. But, once you get into that price range, you might as well just get a BMW or something already made for this stuff. Oh, the TDMI is a good deal, though use the 2 pot '06 STI calipers with stock OEM VB rotor, but the TDMI is only 0.5" bigger. so is that worth $750? probably not.
I’ve been trying to get even a base model wrx but I can’t seem to get it done. Having a 2 year old and some other financial problems just keep beating on me. Watching you at least keeps me hoping I’ll get 1 eventually. A white Subaru 2024 some time eventually..hopefully they don’t get manuals phased out before I can afford one.
I have hit 2 deer in 2 wrx😢. Im back in a 2021 wrx. Ill get those head lights asap. I drive through mountains daily. I want the full catless divorced wwastegate setup. Im not sure of what to get.
Great video. Any issues with the CV boot or other issues you ve encounter since the lift ? since this kit is without subframe drop. And the tires that you have been using 235/55r17, does it rub before the lift? Thanks
@@weijyelim no rubbing, no issue with boots. I would suggest not doing 235 on a 7.5 wheel like I did. Mainly because it feels squishy. Id go back and do 215 tbh.
I hope this new stage in life goes well man. I went from head chef and traveling the country running and opening restaurants and hotels; to being a technician for a Subaru Dealership and Subaru of New England. Sometimes change of pace is what’s needed right?
I went back and forth between Premium and Limited. I ended up with the Premium. I didnt care about the power seats, I actually find power seats in my wife's car annoying. I didn't care about the upgraded stereo but my wife thinks thr stock stereo doesn't sound great, so maybe that is needed if you are an audiophile. I dont need moonroof, keep that weight down. The two features I wanted are the blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. The other factor is that wanted the sapphire blue. Took a lot of calling around to find a car in that color. Most dealers didnt want to bother investigating a transfer. And when i asked about chance of finding a sapphire blue limited the guy said "fat chance". So I would have had to factory order it.
I told this before and I am telling it again, I have been with Honda, Benz and GTR community but Subaru community is one of the best. People are friendly and helpful. I hope you find success with your new career!
Honestly, the black plastic is growing on me. It really helps protect the body from any worse scrapes from small rocks/pebbles when doing some fun rally pulls. If you don’t like the plastics on the fenders, just pop them off and order some aftermarket OEM fenders. They fit pretty well, and really easy to install.
They picked the right man for the job! Congratulations and good luck on your new endeavor. Most people hit that cap in tech when they no longer have the passion to keep up with the rapid change to these systems. People who are not in that world will NEVER understand.
@@brucenakamoto4148 thank you so much! Yea man I've always enjoyed them but it got to the point where I just need something new. After doing RU-vid for almost 2 years I realized I was spending more time on cars than I was tech. I still love tech but I don't want to work in IT anymore haha.
So this video isn't really normal for my channel but I did it anyway because I figured why not. We went through two sets of front rotors before I did this swap It was so stupid. I'm glad that you guys got it sorted out I actually do need to replace the rear rotors as well. Thankfully my wife drives pretty chill so it's not something I have to worry about too often 😂😂
So were a project manager before? I remember you talking about a scrum master job in the Cobb interview but I ask because I'm prepping for my PMP exam this year. Just applied for the exam so I've been studying haha
@@Brandon-ot9yn yea I was a scrum master/project manager for a financial company. It's a good field , tbh, especially if you have a strong personality for it. I would recommend it because the money is really good as well. Plus if you stick with scrum and SAFe/Agile you can easily make 6 figures with time.
@@HeavyMetalWRX yeah, I have a friend get out with his CAPM cert and is now the project manager for the convention center in downtown San Diego where they host comic con and stuff out of. He’s making pretty good starting. I’m prepping to leave the navy after 9 years here soon so I’m hoping to start off back in the civilian world in the right direction.
Man... I work in cyber security sales, and part of me wants to leave it all behind and become a mechanic! Used to work on cars when I was younger, but got into the corporate life and it's been good to me. However, cars are one of my true passions.
@@MattBowler that'd what happens to all of us that end up In corporate. It's hard to leave because the money is consistent and the job is safe. Sometimes you just gotta risk it though.
@@HeavyMetalWRX, terribly sorry you have been dealing with job loss and completely sympathize with you on that. Life has its ways to throwing us crazy curveballs, but you come across as someone who's able to adapt and thrive. Great content, fantastic communication skills, and obviously creative. I'm also a multi-instrument musician who's produced original content, so what you're doing here is highly respectable! Keep it up. Maybe we'll meet in person at some point.
@@MattBowler dude you're gonna love coming to ecotech. Everyone plays an instrument 😂 I really appreciate that, man! Yea my dad always said stressing out never fixes anything. So even when bad things happen I have to just focus on what's next.
Bro, ECOTECH is my go-to shop!! IAG just released their new high-revving de-stroked blocks, and I can't wait to start working with Ecotech on my build.
@@MattBowler yooo hell yea!! Make sure to follow the shop channel and make sure to let me know when you're coming in. I'm going to be shooting clips of all cool stuff that comes through.
@@HeavyMetalWRX, sweet, sounds good! Just picked up a '10 STi hatch back in June as a project car. Looking to build it rock-solid over the next year or two and have a bulletproof daily driver.
Dude, that is so awesome!! I am so happy for you! I am so glad you get to work and be in an environment that you are excited about! Keep up the fantastic work! They are lucky to have you onboard!! Also, tell Adam you got a fan from Colorado that says hey and awesome hat!! I am really looking forward to more videos from you and your new place!
What if I drive out their stock. I have Cobb AP in the box box an ETS intake,TMIC, cat back, charge pipe , pitch mount . Killer B catch and I've got new coils and brand new 265 Conti's (tomorrow)and MachV 9.5 Crucial wheels . Nothing has been installed. Everything is in the box. Let's see what a budget build can do and drive like? 2 new trans rebuilds and clutch and 2 throwout bearings and clutch fork . Seems to be fixed. Looking for brakes and trans.
@@bryanallendorf7064 you want us to install everything? That's definitely something we can do. Plus tune it as well. You can give us a ring on Monday if you want to discuss it
@@NOT.an.STi. I've been excited to do this for a while. So many people have done it but I don't believe it's as well documented as it could be. The best we have is Joey Montaltos video but I think I can make a better one. No offense, Joey 😂
If u want awd turbo on a budget, ditch the wrx for the Alfa Romeo Giulia with a modest upgrade hybrid turbo. The biggest flaw with the WRX which is the steering rack and brakes is completely fixed with the Alfa right out the box.
@@austinjohnston6857 You should definitely do it You never know what you'll find. I actually was going to apply for a the IT manager job at IAG But my family was not ready to move lol
