Hello, I'm Jordan I plan on making long, entertaining video essays about your favourite video games. Analysing them with detail and humour and telling you why I love them (or maybe not).
Definitely the most pointless video I've ever made. Maybe this whole Dreamcast thing was a bad idea 😂 Next video is here: www.patreon.com/posts/dreamcast-35-2-106238792
Love to see something about my favorite game of all time. I hope you ended playing 3! It was a stranger style than 1 and 2 but I liked it well enough. Personally ranking the games it goes 2,5,3,1,4. Not to say 1 was bad but I just didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the others.
Not having the PUKs for the games released for us in the West, is the most irresponsible thing from a company to do. It was so sad that they not only did not give us the upper versions of their ROTK and Nobunaga games, but also we missed many games that left only on the Japanese market, and of course are untranslated right now.... It's so sad to see them neglecting a part of the world. So glad that we proved them wrong on their decision
@@ABitMoreJordan I can't wait for the remake!!!! It just takes too long :( Great video btw!!! I think you are the only one that got into the games retrospectively regarding the entire series!!! WOuld be amazijng if you could do specific videos reviewing each one of them, especially the ps2 era ones!!! I know it takes a lot of time and dedication, just saying!!! You have earned a subscribe either way : )
Oh Skies of Arcade. I remember I had 2 videos I downloaded as a kid (one of the Little Jack in a random ship battle, the other was the party fighting the giant bird boss in Rixis) and based solely of those 2 videos I saved up and bought a used Dreamcast and Skies of Arcadia. It was the first system I ever bought for myself (was like 15 or so) and the first/only Sega system I ever had (fun fact since I had only ever had Nintendo systems NES/SNES/N64 I did NOT get a memory card with the system so for the first few days I played the intro section at least 10 times before I picked one up). It could have easily been a horrible game with me wasting the months it took me to save up for it. But it wasn't! To this day it's one of my favorite games ever! I remember when the GameCube version came out I picked it up thinking it was a sequel and was upset when it wasn't. Now though I think you're right. It doesn't need a sequel. It's perfect as a stand-alone. Though I would love a HD remake/remaster. Sadly I sold my Dreamcast and games in my early 20s for some reason but thankfully I still have my GameCube version. Great video for a great game. Just recently found your channel and I LOVE these huge videos you do! Thank you for the content! :)
#2:14:30 I think that was referring to the story of Lady Sun (sometimes referred as Sun Shang Xiang) attempt to kidnap Liu Shan when she was returning back to Wu in 212. Depending on the characterization it was framed either as an intentional act, or a last request from her sick mother (Lady Wu) to meet her "grandson" (a ploy from Sun Quan). Zhuge Liang purportedly ordered Zhao Yun to intercept her at the river and while Zhao Yun failed to convince her to stay, he managed to convince her to not bring Liu Shan along.
First off, amazing video, and I have now subscribed. I agree with you on the course the Warriors series took. The Xbox game you were thinking of was probably Kingdom Under Fire, which leans a little more on action but also lets you take direct control.
I definitely agree with you I don't like the modern ones Dynasty Warriors 7 and 8 a star system and you have to do certain things to get the other one unlocked no thank you Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires I can play that all day but Dynasty Warriors 3 4 and 5 are definitely the ones are the best ones Samurai Warriors series the first one and the second one of the best
Wow that intro meant alot to me . Because i had a very similar story without going to china. My first dw was dw2 and i loved it. My best friend introduced it to me. And the names in the game always seemed so familiar to me until i found out that they are the same names as in my game rotk 4 . When i found out it was actual events i downloaded the book and printed almost 30 or 40 pages of the book and started to read it. It was actually my first book ever. But it was very hard for me to understand as a teenager and my main language was german and back then there was no translation. With 15 i traveled to washington for summer vacation and a good school friend of mine invited me to new york where i actually bought a physical copy of this book. At the same time rotk8 came out and i bought it for my 16 th birthday and i absolutely fell in love with this game. Rotk has a very special place in my life and i have to thank koei for introducing me in this fantastic story. My favourite character was when i was young zhang liao but as i grew older it changed to xiahou dun. I also love xu zhu in the book. This was an amazing video it was very interesting especially the intro. Thank you.
I had such a hard time with this game as a kid. It was fun but I thought it was really difficult. Turns out it was just poorly made. I only ever managed to kill the tank once. I swear I hit it with everything I had (blasters, rocket launchers, thermal detonator) and always ended up running away because I didn’t think I could kill it again.
🐒 Proudly am also someone who loves the first game more. So glad I found this video. For me the moment Gremio died changed gaming for me. I was already a pretty big reader and was in my early teens. I had played games and enjoyed them but his death was the first moment I realized a story in a game could have the same impact as a great moment in a novel. I didn't even know if I liked Gremio. He was such an afterthought to me until that moment he closed himself in the poisoned room. It made me feel guilty, sad, and shocked in a way that forever changed my perception of video games as a medium for storytelling.
Alundra is literally the 2nd best Zelda like of all time, after A Link to the Past. What a soundtrack. SOme of the best dungeons and toughest puzzles in the history of video games. And a great dark storyline. It's a Link the Past meets high fantasy Nightmare on Elm Street
I fucking love the character art in this game more than any other game. It's so distinct and the watercolour art style, esp on characters like Odessa, is so memorable
THis game's soundtrack is the single reason it's better than its sequel. It is top 5 all time for all video games. Suikoden 2's OST was good but it didn't compared to the first game
I love Dino Crisis 1. It itched that RE itch I was feeling at that time, but I agree, it was a maybe a bit too much like RE in some regards. Dino Crisis 2 however, was not my thing. While it is an action game and I have no problems with action games, DC2 is just shooting and shooting and shooting and a lot of the level design is kind of minigames in long ropey levels reminiscent of sidescrollers.
Played this years ago. The floors crumbling after a certain time is so annoying. I'm always so happy to find a Wind Crystal. Tempered Gold Sword or tempered Trainee Wand and a tempered Mirror Shield are always by my side. I named the Kewne monster Aoki because of it's colors, blue and yellow. The question: Who's the 8th slot in romance for?
There are a handfull of games that give you a similar feeling like Skies of Arcadia. Grandia 1 comes to mind. Another game or games that deserve actual real remakes.
Radioactive Moonstones = nuclear powered Airships! Awesome! And how do you think they get their super special moves or learn to use magic? Radioactivity... from the moons! Comics did stuff like that all the time, so why not.
