Hi Mike, you will notice the part on the outside of limbs that have divots that is where the fingers from press should go on the press for a recent Mathews model bow.
Just found your video, and it’s EXACTLY what I wanted to find. Thanks! These are the two saws I’ve been torn between, and the Decut seems better but it would cost $300 shipped, vs $220 for the Weston. Is the Decut worth the extra $80 in your opinion? I’m located in Canada so options are mor3 limited. Thanks again!
Hi Brendan, I have used both and I like the decut better, has a thinner, more precise cut and micro adjustment able. The weston is built for, I would say to be more of a work house for dozens of arrows a day. I just don’t need a saw to use that often, but I also think the decut will last a long time too. Keep in mind, when I got my decut both blades were broken because it is thin. I now have extra blades just for reassurance. I have not needed to replace the first one yet. Btw you can get extra blades from Lancaster archery, $5 each. Hope that helps.
@@beyonddiy7872 That’s all great to hear. Good to know about the discs as well. Placing an order for the Decut tonight. Thanks again for the video and the time to respond! Happy shooting!
I came across your video because I didn’t understand the purpose of the SAS tool for taking the slack off the cables. The string makes sense, but you can’t remove the cables without taking the shaft out of the canes, so what’s the purpose of taking the load off a cable without a press?
Sorry, I should say you can’t fully remove the cable, as in the short one, too. I guess if you nicked one you could replace it, the long one, in the field. It would be nice if they would pull on the axel from outside the limbs, so you could use the SAS for fine tuning (adding twist), but their cables aren’t traditional and they want you to move the cam, so I guess it’s a moot point.
Hi Daniel thanks for stopping by. The SAS is really only for either changing out a string, if say yours in the field gets damaged beyond repair, or just taking the tension off the string so you can replace peep sight or even twist string in order to adjust peep rotation. You are right though the SAS cable is not going to help with changing out cables!
My manual says to start the controller first and then the quad. You don't need to set the home point it well set itself on take off. Keep in mine your return to home point is however the controller is located. So if you walk 100 yards away from take off your home point well move with you. P.s done move under a tree it's new home point well be in the tree.
