Lovely Bike, you will have a lot of fun with it.. We have the CBR600rr in Australia, but it is $30k compared to $18k for the Kawasaki ZX-6r so it's not really an option here for a lot of people.
The 600rr doesn't run out of breath as quickly as the 650r - but until you have the 600cc screaming (10k RPM and higher) it really doesn't have a significantly different feeling of power. At 9k RPM the 650r engine pulls as hard possibly harder than the 600rr. It's above 10k RPM where you will notice a difference. Where you will notice the difference is in the chassis - the 650r feels like a wet noodle cornering compared to the 600rr - and no amount of suspension mods or tweaks will ever be able to make the 650r handle as well as the 600rr because of it. Most people can't ride a Ninja 400 or Yamaha R3 at its limit - a 600cc supersport is well beyond most people's abilities on a track.

@@TGW_1999 yes I missed the first batch, my bike starts getting made in September and will be with the showroom February, but I asked if I can have it with the 2025 plate so 1st of march, I've been told my price of £10,800 will be set in stone and that's all I'll pay as the price is set to go up in September, also the price of the 650r with the e clutch is going up for that extra to. I looked at the zx6r to but all the tech on the honda won me over 👍🏻
@@TGW_1999 I don't, but it can't be going up to much? all I know is the UK are getting 200 bikes pre year, not sure for how long, the dealerships seem to be very clued up, I've not even seen one let alone been on one as all the dealers bye me don't have them as the demand has been that high,
@@Tomahawkmissile_ corr that’s a fair wait but it will be so worth trust me, I was extremely lucky to be one of the first people to put my name down. Will do a more in depth review with ridding hopefully soon. Unfortunately can’t have miles till empty but I always fill up before a ride so don’t worry about running out. I’m told they have a low fuel indicator though.
@@chrismackey4238 Akrapovic do a slip on and full exhaust, So do Yoshimura. I don’t think the slip on makes a whole difference but don’t hold me against that. I’d personally go full race mode with a full exhaust and retune.
hello... I also had a Honda cbr 650r 2020, so this way and I want to ask what is the difference in body position? Honestly, I would also buy a cbr 600 rr 2024, but I'm a little afraid that it won't be too hard for me to drive. By the way, I'm 1m 80cm tall thank you very much for the answer..and btw the engine is beautiful..enjoy it! :)
You’re around my height maybe a little taller and I fit the bike really well. The 650R is way more comfortable it’s an all round brilliant bike. The 600RR is pretty much a race bike so of course it’s gunna be a more aggressive ride. But it’s faster better handling and a whole lot funnier. Just depends on what you’d prefer to ride or what your needs are.
Yeah man, nice generalities. Those clip ons look comfy height. I’d hope for just a dash of personal opinion of what 150 miles is like. That’d be a 3 hour test drive. Too much good to say?
Thanks. Yeah clip ons are perfect for me not ridiculous aggressive bang in that sweet spot. Yeah I will definitely do a more in depth review of ridding and my opinion and views of it.
Instant like n sub for buying this, awesome choice! 😃 I have an old ‘06 cbr600f, the classic red n black, very basic but just works. Bone stock, baring hel lines, stomp grips and a Quadlock. Can’t see me selling her 😊
@@DGMotorcycles it really is, the amount of attention it gets from passers by and other riders is insane aswell, you’d think I was on a V4r or something. This is my first 600 coming from a lifetime of fairly high level motocross racing and supermoto on the road, I honestly can’t see myself needing any more power, it’s so perfect for the road! Sorry I’m splerging man, don’t come across other ‘24 600rr riders often!
@@mrglock568 yeah it definitely gets a lot of attention, maybe cause it now looks like a mini fire blade 🤣. But yeah couldn’t agree more about the power. A 600cc is perfect for the roads
I don't understand what the major issue was. Stuff like this are standard issues with cars and motorbikes. There's a number of solutions that could have been done.
@@itz_x_salvation395 nah it’s the classic Honda red with the HRC blue I love it. For me I’m not a fan of the black one kinda hides the silhouette of the bike and scratches are very noticeable. But that’s just my opinion there was a black one someone had ordered when I picked mine up and they were the same as you didn’t like the red and loved the black.
Get booked in for a test ride on both. I’d but the RS 660 in the same catergory as the CBR650R kinda that sports tourer’s. Where as the CBR600RR is a super sport so depends what you prefer
I test rode one of these today back to back with the zx6r. It came close but I prefer the kawasaki. The biggest drawback with the Honda was the heat through the seat from the underseat exhaust. It also felt flatter than the kawasaki. The quick shifter was amazing on the Honda tho.
Yeah I would like to test ride the ZX6R as that is the only bike in this class with the 600RR now. Haha I don’t mind a little bit of heat soak cause having that beautiful under tail exhaust is so cool.
Well i did the exact same and the honda is better in every single way for me? kawi had a little more down low but above 10k the honda far better. The kawi had a bit of bar wabble top end of the revs as well, none of that on the Honda. Honda also felt lighter when on it and cornered better. Yes was just test rides but this was my thoughts on the day. Ordered a Honda there and then.
@@DGMotorcycles i was hoping it was not true. My 2008 600rr and my chinese retro moped has fuel gauges. I saw it today at the shop and it looks amazing except the color options. But still considering rs660 or this one.
Just a FYI to anyone in the US that’s tryna get one with the new technology & goodies. It’s not coming to the US. And dk if it’ll ever happen. The US model is a CARRY OVER from the 2013 model CBR.
@@mrglock568 yeah I was out last night and I have to say once I got it nice and hot it was a lot louder then I originally thought. Yeah with the odd pop and burble from time to time.

@@DGMotorcycles yeah once up to temp it’s a sweet sounding bike. Which makes me reconsider getting the Akra slip on… What am I saying of course I’m going to get one lol.
hey mate, can you describe the differences between the cbr650r and this? I have a cbr650r I love it but I also want to try a real supersport too, but I’m scared that it wouldn’t give me so much more feeling and I just wasted a lot of money… I’d keep the cbr650r too
@@johnnyhun1 I should have spoke more about the difference between the two. starting off ridding position on the 600RR is way more sportier. Combined with the suspension setup the front end is so much tighter you can really lean into corners and have so much confidence in the bike. I always found the 650R felt really heavy in corners for some reason maybe the tyres didn’t help. Of course the 600RR has a bit more power aswell which is noticeable. It’s that bit lighter which helps as it has a different chassis. Then you have your tft display with all the different settings so you can set the bike up how you want it. Same with adjustable suspension. I’ll do a more in depth review of the bike covering all this and more 👍🏻
@@DGMotorcycles thanks for the details. My problem with the cbr650r is that if you drive it really aggressive in the street you will start noticing that the abs is way too much intrusive, the brakes are not the best to slow down, and the sudden hard brake makes the whole bike wobble because of the soft suspension.
This is top of my list for my new bike!! Stunning machine and bullet proof reliability…. How tall are you?? I’m 6ft 2 and my only concern is, the CBR600RR’s have always been a “smaller” bike so hopefully I won’t look to cramped on it Can’t wait to see more in this and definitely want a full review asap please
@@CarpyStewie thanks yeah it’s such a beautiful bike. I’m only 5ft 10 so I fit perfectly on sports bike but yeah at 6ft 2 you would definitely wanna take it for a test ride as you may find it is to cramped for you after a while. (Depending on what your use to I suppose)
@@CarpyStewie corr that's a tough decision. take a test ride on the 600RR as you might feel to big for it. the fireblade might be a bit more comfortable for you
@@stevietrucker4631 recommend it 100% I loved my CBR650R and honestly thought I was gunna miss it, But as soon as I rode the 600RR it’s like night and day.
I too have a 650r 21 plate with 27000 onit. . And also thinking about this bike. Insurance tho, 650r is 350 a year, they want 1,900 for the 600rr, 5000 for a fireblade.
@@chasebelcher7932 mine is a 21 plate as well, ive only done just over 6000 miles, that's nothing compared to you 😅 Wow that's what you call very expensive for insurance.
@@chasebelcher7932 wow I’m not sure how your insurance is that expensive I think it was around 1k for my 600RR as I added it to a multi bike policy so can’t remember.
@@LushmanGB I got the racing pack with the bike but decided not to fit the wheel stickers for now and I got a different tank pad. Would like to get a full exhaust soon but they aren’t cheap
Thanks, yeah i use to have that setup on the CBR650R but where the bike would vibrate I thought my phone was gunna shake to bits even using the vibration absorber 😂.
The brake fluctuation thing - remove the discs and clean the face on the wheel, and the mating face of the disc. It will likely get it all back in spec, before you bur new discs..
