I stumbled across your channel the other day because of the grom video. You should be doing this as a full time jobs soon with the channel growth you've had.
Quality work Dan. Useful and informative. I have the same bike (amongst other Tigers, see my channel) and bloody love it. Never had an issue with the softness of the forks though. I've also done the same thing (auction bike +rebuild) with a 660 sport (no vids of that though I'm afraid) and am about to rebuild an 800 XCA. Looking forward to seeing you enjoy it.
Thankyou, il go check out the channel now. yeah the satisfaction of buying a bike that needs some TLC and getting the work done yourself is just awesome. cant wait to get this out for a ride.
Think you might have a problem with dip beam, should be working with the engine running, also looks like the centre stand isn't coming up, maybe needs some lube, or there's a spring missing? You seen very keen to replace the fork spring, just wondering which forum you've been on? I'd fix the seals, use the bike and see how you get on, change the springs if you're not OK with the OE set up.
Yeah there’s still a few more steps I have to check and run through. Lots of people on Facebook forums and online forums complaining about how soft the suspension is, I know I should test it out first and find out for myself. But if I’m going to be pulling the forks apart again I might aswell put some stiffer springs in whilst I’m there. The springs are not very expensive.
@@DGMotorcycles the guys complaining could all weigh 30st, in which case they would feel soft. Best to find out for yourself first instead of making the front end too stiff, which would be worse than too soft
