Watch out for hooks! I pulled a rope that was floating, so heavy. I left did some fishing and on way back still there and again almost ran it over. This time I pulled hard! Started to come up and the rope was full of old rusty hooks. I almost let go but hooks would of snagged my hands, I kept pulling and I lifted a marker block of the bottom somehow the marker got broke off. I took it to the ranger. They were impressed. It was practice cause a few weeks later I pick a person out of the water. Almost the same weight and lifted him straight up and into his boat. Years later the guy still thanks me, and the ranger think I am strong like Hulk.

From below I didn’t know that Catalina Is had such beautiful Kelp beds. From the bottom it looks like an underwater Forest very Pretty. Impressed. But I bet you kept an eye out for our mates the Great Whites. They love Kelp bed for ambush 🤪
I was 30’ deep. I don’t think they are still there. You might find some squid eggs. I’ll be at Cherry Cove this weekend to check it out. Lmk if you find any. Where are you diving?
She has bigger ballz than I do. I have been diving Little and Shark harbors for 10 yrs. But I stay near shore and spend 90% of the dive watching under and behind me for the inevitable Great White who will eventually put a crimp on my continued breathing.
Awesome sighting of giant sea bass. This would be great to include in the Spotting Giant Sea Bass community science project being conducted at UC Santa Barbara.
