The way you're like fighting the background in this boss fight and can't comprehend the form of its attacks makes me imagine that giygas is just this intangible cloud of hate that envelops the party and attacks by preying on their minds. bone chilling shit

A creature beyond all comprehension. There are no words to fully describe it - and no words to describe it even partially. Both nothing and everything. Simultaneously.
My interpretation of Giygas is that he's a 4th dimensional creature. A huge one at that. It's like us compared to a piece of paper. Imagine if a whole entire world was just a flat manga page or something. That's how he sees us, but from a 4th dimensional perspective. Giygas is, and isn't there at all. His appearance and attacks are just mere shadows of what he and the attacks look like. Imagine 2d creatures not being able to grasp what the hell you look like so you draw what you look like to them. The issue being they only see one dimension of what you just drew, not the whole picture. That is what Giygas is to me. Think about it, when he attacks, the game says "You cannot grasp the true form of Giygas's attack!" It still shows a visual. My interpretation is that that's simply a shadow of the attack he's throwing at you, and the only reason why it doesn't instantly kill you is because it's just that. A shadow. It's like if we were to throw a shadow of a punch at a 2d creature, but it just wouldn't have the full force of one of our 3d attacks. Thinking about it that way makes him absolutely horrifying. Imagine something so much bigger than you trying everything in its right to kill you, but you're so small and insignificant to them that their attacks barely do any damage.
Funfact: i heard that the developper of earthbound made gaiygas like that because of a childhood trauma, where he was in the wrong movie room and saw body horror that included a fetus, and if you look carefully you see the rander of a fetus of the latest looks of gaiygas
