It's so strange how half the Soviet troops are standing round looking serious and the other half are stripping off and waving their uniforms around their heads while rocking out haha. Such a contrast.
There's something about that shot of the chopper that pans back to the chug of the Harvester riff that is just so... for lack of a better word... HEAVY! That shot just suits the song, and the particular part of the song, so perfectly. It's almost as if the rotor blades are thudding along with the riff. The strange dystopian atmosphere really fits with the mood of the song.
I don’t know why, but this is my favorite Metallica performance ever. It sounds like the guitars are slightly out of tune but it sounds brutal. I don’t get it, it gives me goosebumps every time I revisit this video.
