Hello there, I'm Iris and I love yo play boardgames. I enjoy playing with friend as well as solo. This channel will be mostly consist of solo playthroughs. Once I have a bit more confidence in filming I hope to expand my content as well!! Thank you for watching!!
So incredible right!!! It only had the Kickstarter page so far but I believe they're working on the BGG page. Yes we should play Castles if Burgundy in our next play session that would be awesome 🥰
We had a great time playing the upcoming Stefan Feld with you and Tom! It was great to meet you and discover your content that way. Oh, and if you ever need someone to teach and / or play a Feld game, I would love to 😁
So many!! Or just games I never heard of before. One especially is Terrorscape by Ice Makes. Very cool looking game, haven't had the chance to play it yet but maybe on the last day. Daitoshi by Devir games as well it's on the heavy side but it looks very good on a table. Valheim I discovered and I've alreayd backed in on Gamefound because it looks so good!!
Final Girl is one of my favorite games, and I've loved visiting the Van Ryder booth at Pax Unplugged before. They're very cool people! I'm really looking forward to Spectacular; that one is a must-buy for me.
I'm so happy to hear that you're having a great experience at your first con! It can be a little overwhelming, and making Essen your first one is really diving right into the deep end! Enjoying your coverage, and I hope it continues to be a wonderful and memorable time!
Evolution looks very beautiful, but from what I have heard and seen: it seems to be a very tough, tight and kompetitive game 😮 have much fun on Saturday🎉
It was a great overwhelming experience. Luckily it got less crowded in the second half of the day. I was only there for the first day so I had to make it count and stayed until they closed. I ended up finally picking up The Final Girl Starter pack and the Big Bad Wolf scenario - I've never played the game before but heard so many great things about it! Also I talked with the creator of the scenario, such a lovely person! So many games have such beautiful artwork! It was a great day and I'm already looking forward to next year :)
Yes Evan!!! He's soooo nice and an amazing game designer!! I'm glad you picked up Final Girl it's so good!! I'm glad you enjoyed the day as well I definitely want to go next year as well
ESSEN! First haha. Blown away at how many people are there. Middle Ages loooks soooo nice IRL. Love the mini vlog format. Spectacular is so high on my list to try ❤
I'm also going to Spiel for the first time, doing 3 days on my side, very excited! Minecart Town is one of the games I'm the most looking to play, looks really fun! Cardboard East did a review on it if you want to learn more about it! Hope you have fun at Essen!
Great video as usual, thanks for sharing 😊 Possible culprit for camera battery issue - I noticed the face camera is constantly trying to refocus (like every couple seconds), this will very likely have a huge impact on battery as it’s driving the internal lenses to constantly move and adjust. You can actually hear it throughout the video as the microphone is picking it up. I’d have a look at the focusing settings and play with it until you can find some stable settings so it’s not constantly refocusing between background and you. You may not even need continuous focusing turned on depending on your aperture (depth of field) as your head typically stays in the same distance so you could just focus at the start of the video and be done. I highly suspect that’s the result of the battery usage but other things you can try if that doesn’t help enough are turning down the screen brightness on it if you have it on during recording or even turning it off. Hope this helps 😊
If you want to keep continuous auto focus on you could also look at adjusting the auto focus zones, you should be able to pick where on the view it’s going to try focus - reduce this to your body or face, basically making sure none of your background is in the autofocus zones/squares. Normally called zone, single point or flexible auto focus.
If you wanted to set up manual auto focus but are struggling because you don’t have remove controls or or don’t know where to focus before you sit down, try placing a plushie or cushion or something roughly the spot you’ll be sitting. Then focus on that. The distance to is key, not whether it’s at head height.
You could also look to see if you have focus sensitivity settings, to reduce how often it try to refocus based on small movement. You want less sensitivity normally. Also if it has face or eye detection, try turn that off, it may be hunting for your face if your looking down etc. Sorry if I’ve overwhelmed you, I just wanted to try help 😅
Thanks so much!! Yeah I've messed around with the focus because if I don't put it on auto focus it really doesn't focus at all 😂 I'm hoping to eventually just invest in a better camera but for now this one will have to do I'm afraid. It's still better than no camera I think.
It wasn't that messy! Every Final Girl player forgets stuff, and you fixed most of it on the fly. But I think you could have won, because you forgot to add the extra die for when you had just one health, and to use the special power that lets you switch the final health token. Then you just needed a success with the machete to kill him (unless he had more final health himself). Also, you should still buy cards you don't have use for, like convince, because you can still discard them to turn 3s and 4s into successes. Cards are fuel.
Just found out about your channel! My suggestions for more Final Girl scenarios (which I'd love to see you play!) is to go straight into series 2, except for maybe Poltergeist in series 1 ("The Haunting of Creech Manor"), since it's so different from the rest (it can't be killed!). My favorite of series 2 are the Alien homage ("Into the Void"), the The Thing homage ("Panic at Station 2891") and the madhouse ("Madness in the Dark").
@@Crimsonboardgames Good to hear! I'm looking forward to it! As for availability, I don't know exactly where in the UK you are based, but if you go to an expansion's page on BGG, you can always see lots of EU people selling their copies (or even new copies) for low prices, which should nicely counterbalance the custom taxes.
@@Kumagoro42 I sadly don't live in the UK haha I live in the Netherlands and I do know a couple great boardgame stores that usually sell Final Girl chapters! I'm also going to Spiel next week and Van Ryder will be there so I'll definitely secure some goods 🥰
Thanks for the playthrough! I have always been curious about this game. Btw, I think your face camera constantly zooms in and out trying to focus maybe, and it makes a mechanical noise as it's doing that.
Yes it is indeed the face cam that's making the noise. It's either that or it doesn't focus at all haha. I want to invest in a better camera but it's sadly not cheap so it'll happen at some point but probably not very soon.
@@medchem30 yes it does but then I doesn't focus on my face 😅 I had the camera in a different position in other videos and then the mic doesn't pick up the sound as much so I'll do that in the future I think
Attending SPIEL is a great experience, but it can also be overwhelming and exhausting. Do some research and read some of the online tips people have been giving (mainly regarding getting food, queueing for toilets, having proper rests, which booths and halls to prioritise, etc). It is not for everyone, but it is something that you have to try at least once. And I'm glad to see your excitement about it! Also, if you wanna give it a go at the games you mentioned on 05:57 and 08:31, you are welcome to come visit us at Hall 3 booth N311, where I will be running those demoes.
Thanks for your video. It was a lot if stuff, know I want use Sunscreen, watch Kikki delivery service, eat ramen & play For Northwood! At the same time 😂
Have no idea why I watched the whole skincare portion 🤣😂 but the press-on nails are v cute. Love Coffee Rush and nana and i am excited to try For Northwood, I just got it as well!
Vivarium's box art is beauuuuutiful! Nana is one I've been dying to pick up, I got Trio (which is also beautiful) and it's tons of fun. Also omg tomato cat bowl, love it, and your journaling is beautiful! What a great Japan trip, I'm hoping to go sometime in the near future so this was very helpful!
Thank you for covering Raas: A Dance of Love. I will be happy to give you the exclusive first look demo at the Arcane Wonders booth 😊. Spoiler - The game looks 10x better than the prototype pics on the BGG page 😊.
Vivarium is a great little game. Very underrated, and the art work for the creatures are great! Cool you got to go-to Japan, it is definitely on my list of places to go.
I'm honestly not sure about the whole trip but the flight and accomodation were the most expensive. We definitely wanted a nice hotel so I'd say about 2800 euros for 2 people for 2 weeks which include 2 different hotels. And the flight about 1000 euros each. You could definitely get cheaper accomodation it just depends on what you're looking for.
So excited for this video!! Oh yeah some Japanese stores are so weird to find, you feel like you’re breaking into people’s homes 😅 Oh and Nana actually isn’t trick taking, it’s a memory game! I’m sure you will love it, it’s so much fun 😁
Just commenting as I watch, please don’t mind the million comments haha. Big fan of skincare / make up and stationery too so I’m reaaaally enjoying this 🥹
