7:23 he put the spark plug wire on without the nut that holds the valve cover on that cylinder. but it was missing it fromt he beginning. guess its not necessary. thank you for the video. helped a lot
what was the intercooler piping situation? i bought a ebay turbo kit for my mr2 and it looks like compressor outlet location is pretty similar to that of a stock mr2 turbo/ct26 5sfte? so im wondering if it’s a good idea to buy stock intercooler piping from a 2nd gen 3s
Really nice work ! I have a msd box too for my turbo mk2 supra, i cant find a way to plug it.... and not a lot of infos on forums/facebook :( We need a video i guess 😂 💪💪
Nice to see this pursuit lives. I once turbocharged a 5sfe which eventually failed from my ignorance. I ran the arp head studs for the 3SGE (with some modifications to 2 studs), a 3sgte manifold, my first set up was with a T25 from an eclipse, an adapter so the turbo would fit the manifold, custom piping made of exhaust tubing (i didn't know i could piece together intercooler piping), an SRT 4 intercooler (i ended up sacrificing my ac and switched to a civic radiator lol), and the little one way check valve to vent boost before the map, and that was pretty much all of it. I screwed up sooo badly, i kept running 87 octane instead of going to 93, I had NO timing control, no fuel control :(, it ran for a while though at 5 psi and then just started dying slowly till it wouldn't start. Idk what I ended up doing with it. But I'd damn sure like to try again.
Looking to turbo my 5sfe Celica at a modest 5lbs of boost or so, I really want that tiny bit of extra power and SOUND BABYYYYY. Looking forward to some more videos on this, there is practically nothing online showing the process of boosting these dudes.
@@MR2Dirtbags Okay so for the oil drain, I would have to drill and weld a new plug on correct? unless there's another way that can sustain the pressure
Drill and tap from what I've heard. I would double check that ur dill/tap hole is above the oil resting in the pan, so the higher the better I'd say so it drains and doesn't just get stuck in the line haha
I’ve heard the megasquirt ecus work on the celicas, would that be feasible? Also, would you be able to push higher boost if you used a 3s-gte head with dual core valve springs? I’ve heard people recommend that.
I don't even have the one I use on my car rn wanna make sure the one I get is good before suggesting it my old one straight up tanked on me and very bad things happened lol 😆
If it has a 5sfe yes but if your gonna change around your oil filter the an lines in that kit may be to long for your car but it's pretty simple to make an lines
Have you changed the shock struts? Because I'm buying some coilovers for my 95 Celica 5sfe and the MR2 and Cambry look very similar even the Lexus ES 300.
I have their super super simple if you want I could make a quick video showing you how it's pretty much the same for removal/ install on every side of the car
1.the later Gen ct turbos (ct15, ct20b) hold up to the same flange as ct26 turbos. 2. To get a coolant feed and return to the turbo you can delete the IACV coolant lines and use that as your feed and return. 3.the 5s map sensor is 1 bar and is a equivalent to 14psi, Gen 2 3sgte is 2 bar which is equivalent to 29psi. 4. The coolant bleeder would still be a return , but that doesn’t matter if you use the IACV lines for the turbo Good video will🫡👍🏻
I find it hilarious the book calls for you to pull off the throttle body, no mention of the valve cover, just doesn’t make sense to me, only reason I could see is that they don’t want the engine opened
