Welcome to the Anomaly Woodworks channel! I started this channel because I was already making wood projects, so I figured why not film them and make some videos! Perhaps it can help inspire YOU on your next project. My sincere hope is that it does! If you enjoy any of this content, please subscribe and don't be afraid to leave comments if you have questions, or just want to add to the conversation. I would greatly appreciate that! Thanks so much for visiting!
I'm a dart thrower, and I recently became very interested in woodworking because having a dartboard made for me was outrageously expensive, in my opinion. So I'm taking on this goal to build my own, which is very outside of my comfort zone. Can you put together a cut list? Please and thank you
great table man! doing a similar table with similar dimensions and made of walnut but client wants metal legs. you forget about the biscuits when you are cutting to length, lol. they show up at the worst times!
Hello! Apologies I just saw your question. I made the table to 30 inch height so the legs were about 29 inches since the top was around an inch. You have a little flexibility here since most table heights are about 29-32 inches. Make it what you want! And thank you for the kind words!
Hello! You can buy biscuits pre-made at any big box and most hardware stores, or order them online. You just need a biscuit joiner tool to make the cuts. Thank YOU for watching!
2 things.... 1) I 🧡 the table...you have given me the confidence to try building a dinning room table for myself, and most importantly.... 2) Go Big Orange orange 🍊 🍊 🍊
Great job on building the cabinet for the dart board. You did a great job on the video and cabinet. I’m fixing to build one Thanks for the tips. Keep the good work up Brother. 👍👏
This is an awesome video. Looks like you are not concerned about wood movement on the tabletop. Is that because the wood is dry/ stable? Not being critical just learning.
Do you mean like seasonal movement/shifting? If so, I've never really worried about that for something that's indoors, and I've never had an issue. Others would probably disagree with me. It's been a couple years since I built this now and the table is still fine with no issues. Thanks so much for the kind words!!
It's funny, literally 5 minutes ago I put the finishing touches on this exact doll-house I just built (minus the windows), sat down to watch some youtube, and this is the first video that popped up. I think yours may have turned out a bit better though. I'm a novice working with basic hand tools.
Awesome! Hope it was a satisfying project for you, and it's a little freaky about the video ha! I feel like stuff like that happens all the time though nowadays!
I agree. Love the work so far. And I’d like to see progress and anything you work on. I’m torn between types of buildings myself. Both seem to have their advantages and disadvantages. Having someone put together a metal building goes quick and can me completed in days. IDK the right answer, I’d probably go with the metal bldg for time’s sake and paying someone who knows what they are doing with the right tools to do it.
Awesome! Generally, screwing anything into workpieces that are 3/4" thickness you would use the 1 1/4" screw. I use it the most as most things I build frequently use 3/4" boards (1 inch nominal), plywood, etc.
thank you for your helpful video honestly u have got to have some super powers to use inches for that, my brain can't handle that thus I need to convert all that to cm and mm
This is great! Great design, great tools, great technique, a pleasure to watch! Thank you! You sound like a cross between napoleon dynamite and bill Paxton, but very nice and calming ;)
As a woodworker, I can appreciate your methodology, your exploration of build and process and the finish result from all that work. As a designer, I find the finished stands to be far too skinny looking for the massive size speaker sitting on top. Stands are an aesthetic but also functional aspect of speaker positioning. Should be absolutely rigid to isolate vibration and allow speaker to sound its best. I think the build was a huge success but the actual stands could be much better functionally and aesthetically. No disrespect, just some informed thoughts for your consideration.
Hi, thanks for that feedback and critique. I do appreciate it and don't take any disrespect. It was my first build of any kind of stands like this so I could definitely do better and if I were to make more I would make them more robust without question. Thanks again!
