@@gilmerod8635 I haven’t taken it to the scale yet but I’m estimating around 700 lbs. tongue weight is alittle to lite, will add spare tire to front to help weight it down. Right now I can lift very easy by hand.
Had a 2012 Wrangler and it had very few repairs, just minor stuff. It had 200,000 miles on it. Just purchased a 2024 and as I drove It home the engine light came on. 😳 Brought it back and they said it had needed a computer update. Picked it up and as soon as I got on the freeway the engine light came on again.😡 Brought it back and waited 3 weeks for new O2 sensors. I've had it back for a few days now and all seems well. Just hope it stays that way!
@@glendawilliams4035 wow 200k. Sorry to hear about the issues with your 2024. Hopefully your new one goes the 200,000 miles also. 👍 Thanks for your comment! ✌️
@@7996hobguy I tried to find him on Facebook marketplace again but couldn’t find the ad. If I come across it again I’ll send it to you. Lucky in our area there are a lot of options with the rv manufacturers close to us in Elkhart. I was at an rv surplus store in Orland Indiana last week and they had some good doors and windows. It’s called Newsoms rv surplus. Facebook marketplace is great at finding parts. Good luck in your search and have fun
@@F-N-C thanks! Below is a link to one that I made with 2x2 and plywood.. that trailer was more of duty so I wasn’t worried about weight as much. Either way both turned out good and I had a lot of fun building them. Enjoy your build!
@@richarde6911 yea 2X2 construction works fine On another trailer build that’s what I used. Below is the link - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ULOfAhYM28w.htmlsi=lH5Dmd_C3BWTYJUc
@@jeremym3948 it’s a guy off of Facebook marketplace. I’ll try to find his name and forward it to you. It in Michigan about 30min north east of Michigan City, IN.
Looks pretty good, where did you get the tires from? And did you have to upgrade to a longer axle to fit? I have seen alot of people saying they had to upgrade the axle to fit larger tires for better clearance
Pretty cool. I'm really curious about the foam panels. Are those just your regular foam panels that would be used for insulation? I can't believe they're strong enough for something like this.
Thanks, I am surprised how strong it is with the foam but it is super strong. I’ve taken it through ditches and driving on highway at 75 and there has been no flex or movement. I did use more 2x4s for support then most that make these.
No but we are coming into summer, last summer it was good. Hoping it is the same this year, if any issues come up I’ll reply back to the message. Thanks!
@@ostromadventures so this weekend I’m going to be changing out the thermostat for a 180° thermostat.. and if this doesn’t fix the problem, I will probably go with a temperature sensor and a new radiator. Probably a three core instead of the OEM.
The only thing I’ve noticed is the more I pull with it the better it runs. This is my first diesel so I don’t have a ton of experience. Glad it’s been a good truck for you 👍
Having similar issue. What did u replace my brother. Relay or fanm.mine fans running full speed with running on gauge fluctuations like you're one. Please assist
@@brianh1161 I’ve have driven in a rain storm that caused alittle leaking in the corner. And I believe if you go through a car wash same thing the corner will have very little water. Other than that no leaking.
@@ostromadventures Yeah seems like anything covering a bed like that is gonna leak somewhere a little. Thanks for the info I will take a look at these. You've had it several years I take it?
@@ostromadventures ok thank you this was very helpful. Two more questions, what are the buttons with the arrows next to the joysticks do, and how do make it hover in place so it doesn’t drift? Edit: sorry for so much questions but on more, on the right joy stick if you press on it it clicks what does that do?
I appreciate your video. I like how you routed the wire out the side of the control box so I copied it. looks way better and won't be rubbing on the paint. Thanks.
@@wakymilo I just drilled a hole where this guy did on the side of the control cover so that it isn't going out the back and rubbing the grill. I didn't make a video. I routed the cables the same as in this video
It appears this was your solution since no follow up video was made? Battling the same issue for he second time but first time was solved with a handful of fixes since it was also suffering from cooling issues to it was tough to identify the initial solution on mine.
Yes luckily it solved my problem. Before this I change thermostat, bled the system a few times, flashed the heater core a few times. Can be very frustrating. Good luck 👍
Own a 16 xdc sv with 74k miles. Drove it off the lot new and never had a single issue. Pull 18ft enclosed trailer daily. Wish Cummins and Nissan would get back together.
I almost brought one in 2019 with 5.0 Cummings, but went with the 4th gen Ran 1500. I think the 5.0 Cummings would have been a great combo with the 8 speed zf transmission, in the ram as an option. However the boneheads at Stellantis went with that POS Italian 3.0 Fiat diesel and gave the ram a little bit of a bad rap.
Nice truck, I have a 2016 SL all stock with the Cummins that I’m the first owner of. Love the truck and has been trouble free, keep up the maintenance and filters. I don’t think folks who get into these newer diesels understand that these truck aren’t meant to be run around town trucks getting groceries and so on…. Due the the emissions mine has always been a highway truck towing or not.. keep its legs stretched and exhaust hot with the highway RPMs high and you will have no issues. Keep them wheels moving and take care.
