@@gptriplesticks are you sure it’s not a touchscreen? Mine touchscreen didn’t work once the screen was cracked. After the screen replaced, it worked as it should.
i hope i dont have to replace the regulator, but i bought a new switch for 128 and that was it. then today i ordered a new motor but i'm sure it isn't the motor, but it could be. But the regulator is a snot. thanks for making the video! first good video i found.
@@jayminasi6073 if you can hear the motor spinning or sometimes the cables making noise then the switch is good. If you hear nothing then could be switch or motor, giving you have power at the switch.
@@theboydslife7809 my switch was good. i hear a click click when i try to close the window. the motor is not spinning. i do not hear the sounds of a cable that is screwed up. besides the click click, nothing is happening. So i ordered a new motor. before i put it on, i will take the old motor off and i will just bet that it works. the last thing i want is replacing the regulator. i'll have a certain nervous breakdown
here is what happened. i didn't need a new switch or a new motor. today i discovered that the 6 prong connector to the motor had some corrosion! i cleaned it up with 320 sandpaper and applied Dielectric grease and i will be good to go for a good while.
but now the Security Indicator Light is blinking and the when i shut the engine off, the Start Button stayed RED. That never came on in 10 years. There is really no good help with this. i'm not letting the dealer charge me. It seems to be getting better. The Start Button isn't red now, but the warning light still blinks. but if i drive the car and then shut it off and it wont start again, i will be fit up to be tied.
Thanks for the video. For anyone considering doing this, if you are the least bit handy this is very do-able. Just a steady hand to pull off the dash vents. You don't really need to unplug and remove the whole assembly. Just take the four screws off of the main module and remove the display and dash mount. One important tip - don't just pull on the ribbon cable connecting the touchscreen to the PC board. There is a small white-ish latch at the point where the cable goes into the connector that you gently pull away from the connector. This releases the cable, and it easily slides out in one piece (unlike in the video). Connecting the new cable is just doing the reverse. The video is correct about the hardest part being how to remove the touchscreen from the bezel. The adhesive is very aggressive. Just try to get a thin plastic spatula or other flat tool under the touchscreen and slowly work it off. Too much force and you might break the plastic bezel. The glass will definitely crack as you go, so at that point there's no going back. I used Goof-Off to dissolve most of the remaining adhesive, then a little elbow grease with a soft piece of fabric will get the remainder. Once that is done, the rest is a piece of cake. Good luck!
Well have a 2018 mazda and the heat just started doing this to my screen last month. Its not 1/4 of the screen. Taking it into mazda next week to see if they will extended warranty it. If not ill be doing this myself the day after.
Excellent Video! I had my door panel apart, because I hear a weird scratchy/gravel sound when using the window and it's struggling to close. Seeing the wire frayed makes me think it's the same issue, with the wire about to fail. I'm confident to take the inside panel with the bolts off now and check. Thanks!
the way you ripped the digitizer cable gave me a heart ache as a tech for future reference those digitizer or ribbon cables have a flip siwtch hold them down you just have to flip it up
Just put this exact same one in my Costco Cart. The "ALRIGHT! Pop-tarts are good!!" cracked me up haha! Gonna do an epoxy on the garage floor before I slap this in. One question, do you know if you can buy additional shelving? I haven't been able to find any.
My screen was broken, I called Mazda and they told me it was $800 to fix 😂 I then asked how much is the part alone and they told me $450 for the 2017 Mazda 3. I laughed in their face, ordered the part on EBay for $150 did it myself. Thanks
Just did this with a flash light light in my mouth in 15 degree weather. Instructions were perfect man, thanks! The factory zip tied my motor to the regulator instead of using the bolts, i was like wtf?!😂 I did this for a 2016 mazda 3 2.0 hatchback. Japan built
Eso me pasó con mi pantalla, al parecer por el sol, alguien sabe si al reemplazar por la nueva pantalla vuelve a suceder? o solo era con la pantalla de fabrica?
In my 2014, my touch screen was bugging out hard so much that I couldn't use my gps so I disconnected my touchscreen ribbon cable 5 years ago. A few days ago, it was below freezing in the morning, but rose to 60 degrees in the afternoon and I came out and it was cracked from the temperature rapidly changing. Definitely going to do this now.
Followed every step exactly as explained and it took me 2 hours to replace. Saved myself 165 dollars by doing it myself. As a recently unemployed single woman thank you soooo much!!!
Hello everyone! Definitely a time save to just remove the 4 screws on the top. Fairly simple! Took me 20 minutes from start to finish! Thanks everyone for the tips and instructions 🤘🤘
I just removed my daughter's 2015 M3 failed regulator with this excellent video. Tomorrow I'm getting the new regulator and will use this video again. Wish me luck. This video is so perfectly framed!!!! Thanks a million!!! They quoted her over $350. Thieves!!!!
It took a few days to get the WR but it arrived today. Following your excellent/detailed instructions, I was able to put it back together in a snap!!! You are the best! Thanks again.
Merci beaucoup pour votre vidéo chez mazda me charge 1600$ pour la réparation j ai commander la vitre sur amazon 45$ j ai suivi les étapes de votre vidéo et ça fonctionne comme une neuve
Thanks for the reply. What I meant is how did you get the bamboo back far enough so that it was flush with the wall behind since your cabinets are out 2 inches from the drywall? I have the same kind of 2 inch concrete step in my garage at the bottom and I'm trying to do what you did. Your video has been very helpful to me. @@theboydslife7809
To everyone having trouble trying to get that metal bracket off that holds the plastic bezel to the actual screen. Move it to the left or right then pull back. Will pop right off.
Thanks for the video. It really helped prep me for the screen replacement. Just to add to/reinforce the tips for anyone else ready to embark upon this journey. - Leave the connectors attached to the back of the CMU - Just take the four screws off the top to remove the screen from the CMU and the two connectors to the screen - Be sure to disconnect the digitizer ribbon cable correctly (pull the white bit out and then up) - Heat gun and a razor blade works wonders for removing the screen adhesive
Went ahead and did this while installing CarPlay today. This was a massive help. Like other commenters said, throwing the screen in the oven then using a box cutter to cut from the outside worked wonders for getting the broken glass out.
Thanks for the awesome video! So good to find one that hasn't been pre rehearsed but also isn't full of a bunch of waffle. For anyone else attempting, when you remove the ribbon, get you fingernail in behind the little white clip to pop it backwards and then the ribbon will slide right out. That's what holds it in place. 😊
