Hello, do you have a pinout for the AFS headlight ballasts? I have a problem that my xenons flicker and wanted to bypass the ballast. Already disabled the dash warning, cornering light and up/down adjustment is still working fine. Only thing I need to know now is where I can get a signal if the xenon lamps are on.

I've the exact same headlights, buf after replacing d1s bulb to newer one, the adjustments from left to right has changed, now I cannot adjust the horizontal position (left to right), yiu said it can be only vertically adjusted, what should I do? Hi great video. I have bought a spare set of headlights from a 07 passat. These have gen 1 afs. I would like to upgrade the projectors and then swap the headlights into my 2009 r36 passat. Is this possible because because 2007 Passat has gen1 AFS, where 2009 passat has GEN2 AFS. do you know the differencec between gen1 and gen2 afs?
Hello. I have a problem with my 2010 passat none of the headlights work low or high both sides. On my scan tool it says low beam bulb but i took the bulbs out and tested them and they work. On both sides high and low don't work
I have trouble too understand whay headlamps are mixed with xenon on low beam and and halogenbulps on highbeam, given a bad lightpicture, much better to have xenon on highbeam too
Hi! Thanks for sharing these videos! I have a problem with a similar headlight. After engine start and up-down / left-right adaption, the left headlight remains at its lowest position. No error on diagnostics software. Switched AFS modules from left to right but still same issue. Any idea? Are the adjusting motors accesible on these headlights? Thanks a lot!
On my skoda 3 FL, i have full led headlights. From a while i've receive some errors from both headlights on vcds. Low beam protection active,overheted. What's wrong with them? What can i change to prevent overheating?
Very good informative video. I have some LHD Bi Xenon Octavia 5E headlights and need to change my RHD bi xenon headlights to LHD. It looks like I can remove the projector without splitting the headlight to swap the cutoff right? Thanks 🙏🏽
@@xenonland ok so removing the glass is fine, I’ve done that a many times on other cars but I could swap over the whole lens assembly from the LHD into the RHD?
Thanks a lot for the videos about the xenon lights! My range contol does not work and I got the error U2120-00 ( CAN Bus no communication with AHL). I assume that this indicates a faulty data communication (defective control unit?) and not a malfunctioning sensor, right? Could you give any advice how to proceed to find the error or any other helpful resources of advice? It´s a Signum 2003 with xenon light and automatic range contol. I always used to fix my cars when they where analogue...this is my first "new" car and with all this sensor stuff, I´m pretty lost :( Many thanks in advance!!!
Great video! I have an issue with my Honda - just ordered a ballast, alternative but at least branded and not a generic Chinese fake, I hope this will solve it (the igniter looks like new...). The headlight just stopped working out of the blue... after I removed the headlight last week and reassembled it worked once but then never after... I am only assuming the ballast kind of works... but not all the time.. not sure if this is possible (tried to replace the ballast with used one but it smoked out when plugged so I returned the original one)
It was a pain trying to remove and install the bulbs without removing the headlights especially on the left side because of the fusebox. It did help slightly to just loosen the headlight screws to move the lights slightly forward, but still. I feel who ever invented the socket for these bulbs should get back to the drawing table because it's very hard to know how far in or out the bulb should be, and where you will get a connection with the tabs. A change of bulbs should be possible without removing the whole headlight in my opinion. Something anyone should be able to do quickly at the side of the road. It's an utter pain to get your hand positioned in a way you are able to get any twisting power, so I'd say it's a fail from who ever constructed this because you can easily damage a very expensive bulb for no reason at all.
This video was gold right now. Seems like I've ordered the right thing to solve my problem, but still good to get some reassurance. I ordered a 3rd party ballast at 10% of the retail price of the original at the dealer because I don't want to risk paying a lot of money if I'm not 100% sure the item will fix my problem. I've only made sure that both new bulbs are working in the right headlamp, but not in the left, so the bulbs are not the issue. That's why I checked the two fuses to the left of the steering wheel which at least on the diagram says are both for left main headlight and both are fine, and since there should be no relays for this, there had to be one of these three units that you highlight in this video(besides harness issue or similar) I took a chance on the ballast as that was the only thing that could be powering the D3S xenon bulb. As I suspect both bulbs in my two headlights are from the car was new, it must've blown the bulb when the ballast decided to take a dive. Not going to celebrate just yet, because I do not believe I have fixed my problem until I see results with my own eyes. So, hopefully it'll cost as little as possible and that the 3rd party ballast will last a while as well. The brand is Abakus. Hopefully it is ok. EDIT: Car is Skoda Octavia Scout 2016

I have a 2005 Mini Cooper S with the HID headlights. The passengers' side was out so I bought a new bulb and nothing, so I checked the ignitors (swapped them) and nothing, then I swapped the ballasts and it worked. When I went to put the good ballast on the drivers side again, it did not work! Now none of the lights work!
I few months ago on my 2011 GTI HID/xenon I got the AFS error and it stopped doing the dynamic lighting when cornering. No big deal. This week the right bulb wouldn’t turn on, I replaced it with a new one and it still doesn’t turn on. Could be the AFS module? The ballast? Both? What is your opinion, thank you!
Are you able to access the daytime running lights module without removing the bumper? I was hoping I could get to it from underneath by removing the wheel arch cover?
Hi Xenonland! Really nice video! I own a Passat GTE 2016 B8 and have trouble with my left headlight. After staring the car I get two warnings in the dashboard. 1. Please check headlight 2. Error, corner lights (AFS) The headlights are working though, only think is that the left headlight beam is higher that right. Hey if any water touches my igniter will it caused my bulb to not turn on? I’ve bought new head lights and new hid + H7 but now the one that was giving me issues still doesn’t want to turn on and I’m thinking it’s my igniter . My f66 fuse is good

I have one giving me a tough time. I have had the bubble bath and the only bubbles formed at the sides of both access covers. I flipped the rubber seals and it was really tight with very minimal bubble at the time of test. Vents are all OK. Yet soon as temperature drops somewhere below 10. I get condensation. I am getting fed up but I really want to solve this. Headlight is still Well sealed all round. No broken parts as much as I can see. Any suggestions please.
i have a 2007 passat While driving at night, afs malfunction occurs and this causes the left headlight to turn off. When I turn the headlights on and off using the headlight switch, the headlights return to normal. Is it possible to replace the AFS sensor without removing the bumper?

Low and high beam are at the same bulb, which is D1S type. If you do not have low beam, it means that either your xenon bulb is faulty or the ballast unit.
