@@akarticle8561 Hm I don't know if there's actually a user ID number, there are character ID numbers but I think for users it's just their username. You can click the clipboard next to them to copy the user or the character ID. Hope this helps

Someone drew me a wonderful art of my OC but im trying to credit them by putting it in the photos for ref sheet (i got permission ) but idk where the "Artist URL" is im so confused 😭
@@buhbyela hmm I'm assuming you've already found it, in which case it's just entering their ArtFight profile link or a social media link. If you haven't found it, it'll show up after selecting no when promoted the question "did you create this image" when uploading a new image. I hope this helps 👍
@@Pieslullaby External links lead to other sites, so if a character has more information or more reference photos on ToyHouse or UnVale, you can link it there. The profile has a similar feature with social media links. You can always leave these blank though. Hope this helps 👍
Hey guys, just so you know, nowdays there is a limit on how much you can swap teams! I don't know when this changed but it's mentioned when you pick your team on the site. This is my first year so I'm trying to pay as much atention as possible to EVERYTHING. Have fun in Art Fight this and every other following year!
I just want to call myself out here for a second since I don’t want to see anybody asking why a part of the video is blurred: My immature brain somehow came to the conclusion that it was okay to use other people’s characters as examples without their permission. AND for one of the worst parts of the video in my opinion. I could’ve very easily just used my own characters for that example to show you the real limits of that description text box. I’ve already reached out and apologized to the people featured here and have respected their choices, I cannot believe it’s taken me this long to do that. Don’t be like me.
Yes, it does. Copyrighted characters and those that you do not own cannot actually be submitted as a character as per ArtFight rules. However, you could always draw him for your profile rather than as an attackable character!
So I have a few questions. I’m new to Art fight and I was wondering about the characters. So, first- Do you submit the little character card thing? The one where it asks who you attack and who your characters are? Second, In the character menu, do you submit the same characters that you put on your little card? Can someone please help me?
For the first one; as far as I know that card is purely for fun. Most people post them, share them over discord, or add them to their profile to make it easier for others to decide whether or not they want to attack them. Second: since the card serves as an advertisement for yourself, it would be better to submit the same characters you include on the card. But it's up to you! Some people don't have any characters on the card. Hope this helps!!
@@StratusTheSkywing If you're able to, then yes! Once July starts, the site typically crashes so it'll be difficult to submit characters at all. Plus most people have a list of OCs that they want to attack by then. 👍
You don't have to make complete reference sheets!You can just post a bust/head shot or any drawing you already have of your oc! Edit:Also you can join during the event/in July
I'm really ticked off at the fact that i have to verify my phone number before im allowed to talk in the discord server, bc first of all, isn't my email enough? and second of all, i can't even verify it cuz it says there's already an account using that phone number, BUT i can't delete that account because idk which one it is, and i don't have access to any of my alt accounts so i can't delete them either !!
Recently I've been seeing a lot of people ask whether discord is really necessary, and honestly it's not. I don't remember having to verify my phone number at all, and (granted I'm not a tech bro) I don't really see why anyone should??? If you're joining for the help and community events, my only other suggestion would be if there's a reddit/forum out there?? (I see there's discussions on r/artistlounge) I'm so sorry about that though.
@@luu_chay I’m glad it’s not mandatory at least. I mean, I’m allowed to be in the server and look at certain channels but I’m not allowed to send or say anything, so i suppose i still have some ability left. Thank you for the response though, it always makes me light up when the creator of a video a genuinely enjoy sees and responds to my comments ^_^ (Happy artfight!!)
i was in cara beta and been following the owners posts and things about it (theyre a one person army) and their account is zemotion, btw they are a photographer and hate ai as they have had all their work stolen for ai, anyways zemotion just wanted to make an app where it is safe for artists, at launch they had a server that they could afford, but the server wasnt big enough for the amount of people who got onto it recently hence the lag etc but theyre doing the best they can and upgraded the servers, zemotion is doing all they can to keep the app running but as a one person team basically it is costing a hell of alot of money. I have lots of hope for cara and i really love the creator of cara i wish them the best in the app and im excited to see where it goes. So happy we dont have to look at ai art anymore p.p
also cos of the concerns of it being artist only app, i have been telling friends that arent artists to consider the app too as it will keep their normal images safe as well !
@@teddybearmei8713 Same! Since Cara is still being marketed towards artists in particular, I don't think any of my non artist friends have looked into it tho 😔
If you have a website/other platform that you want to link but it's not listed, you can enter the name for it as the external link name and then add the URL to the page there (hope this helps) 👍
From what I've seen by using it myself nightshades artifacts look alot like crinkled paper textures and it actually looks pretty nice imo. So even if it's more visible then glaze it doesn't look to bad at all if you have a style that lends to that kind of look.
I think you are wrong about “Cara being for small artists” (I like your video, and your opinion is your opinion) but Cara seems veryyyyy “fishy” I posted, and no likes, no followers, nothing, it’s a ghost land and I posted good quality work. Idk how the algorithm works on it :/ but I’ve seen other ppl taking this stance one person I’ve seen posted over a week ago and still no likes or anything yet you see all these ppl on your feed who posted 2-20 hours ago that have tons of comments, tons of likes and reshares, something about it is fishy, like one of the posts I made is a png tuber sprite the one in my pfp but with heart eyes, so it looks cute and high quality. Super clean lines, made it in fresco with vector brushes. Nonetheless I’m sooooo tired of people making new apps for a “community” to build a community of ppl. If you want an actual community then make a big discord server where everyone can share their artwork and talk. I don’t think a single person has came across my posts on Cara. I don’t know anything about the algorithm but what artists are they trying to “support” exactly because imo they are “supporting larger artists” social media apps alone do not “build community”
Ngl since I wrote and recorded this script I've definitely changed sides on my argument. And after seeing some comments arguing against my point that Cara is good for smaller artists- I definitely have to agree. I believe when I originally wrote it, I meant it more as "it's good for artists who aren't going into the industry/are trying to get into a company" but even that I don't agree with anymore. Part of my argument was also cause Cara was still new at the time, it's kinda expected that after it gets big that all the smaller artists get buried. I should've acknowledged that.
@@luu_chay I actually thought it would be a good idea (as when I made the account then I hadn't watched any videos on it yet) so I went into it with a positive mindset of "not many people will be on here yet because it's still pretty new so maybe I'll get seen and I'll be able to start on a new platform yada yada" then I watched some videos, saw that comment from someone and then I was like "hmmm" 3-4 days later here we are and no engagement. just weird I dunno. I tried to find more information about it to know how the algo works etc, but (from what I've searched) maybe it is out there, but as far as I know then nothing has explicitly said what their algorithm is and how people will find other people. I also "slightly" think (I don't think everyone is selfish and I don't personally know any selfish artists) but I think being able to control the percentages of how much of your followers posts you see/how many other posts you see etc, could be used to an artists advantage where they don't support others and are just all in it for themselves, (maybe negative thinking but these days you never fully know others intentions and tbh its hard these days and a lot of ppl are just trying to make their dreams come true) I think it is a good concept but I don't think that people should be able to 100% control what they see on their feed. that honestly feels like other artists are in control of what the algorithm is instead of the app itself which rubs me a little bit the wrong way, if I would be relying on other artists to not turn some of the %s down to 0% or really low or what have you so that they don't see as many artists.
@@cheesypastel Dang, I wasn't even aware of the whole algorithm thing. I haven't been on Cara aside from the two things I posted there, but there was one time I saw something I wanted to check out in the recommended posts (or most recent, I'm not sure) but when I clicked it it took me to something completely different. I thought it was just being buggy since it's in beta. Idk if it's possible it's an algorithm thing, but if so then it's more reason to be skeptical. 👍
Social media platforms have not been artist friendly from the start imo. They were never menat for anything besides trying to get you to drive engagement and to keep up your activity on these sites to gather as much data companies could sell to other companies to advertise you things. The big difference is now their stealing things you make because theres not enough laws to stop them.
Ngl the problem with Instagram before was the bots snd algorithm, then the ai and stealing your data was such a whiplash on the face. Tho i have the disagree cara, is more favorable to artist with a following already :/

Dunno if you’ve already mentioned it. But Wacom an artist focused company, used ai art for an ad. Instead of actually commissioning one of their user base. Also, adobe has weird ai stuff that’s apart of thier stock. Also, a weird update to their tos that’s for ai .
I think the real solution to the "artist ai" problem is dropping an accessible app to everyone that is fully in its complete status. Artfol was about to be the saving grace of everything but then it kept going down for weeks and a lot of people jumped ship because of it. Cara is buggy and doesn't properly work yet, so its a huge risk with not much reward imo to fully shift gears over there just yet, just like how everyone and their mom is doing rn.
Nah you have the right idea, I'm mostly saving cara for personal art but I don't wanna put all my stuff on there or advertise my account everywhere until I see what's happening. 😭😭😭
I feel like the main issue with cara is that it's made up of artists. Only. Which makes it a bit hard to make your account reach people outside of the artist bubble... Not saying this is a bad thing, but for artists looking to grow it's hard to find some ground there with half your audience cut off. Rarely do i find a regular user looking for artists to follow 😓
@yumebloom So was Deviantart. Then companies and people went there to get artists. I think any popular place with a large variety of work will attract the audience that wants it.
@@yumebloom exactly. Instagram is for everyone. Twitter was supposed to be for everyone, tumblr has been around for long enough to have a large enough audience. These new apps that claim to be the solution are not for everyone (Artfol was supposed to be for everyone but like... In spirit ig) and they are still in beta and those are two huge reasons why they keep failing and the cycle repeats
