(Just a note, we have people who actually know the game very well making the scripts for this channel. As the owner of the channel (Theduellogs/hirumaredx) is a total newbie to the game.)
the wagon can be really usefull card u only need to know how to use it...this list is crap and u missed vanila 6/6 trained orgg, the worst rare ever printed
Your description of the way Psychatog was used is incorrect. The best (World Championship winning) way to use it was to control the game until you had enough mana to cast both Upheaval and Psychatog (preferably with counter backup). You would float all your mana, resolve Upheaval, then cast your Psychatog. The result would be bouncing all of your (and opponent's) permanents, overfilling your hand and causing you to discard down to 7. This would fill your graveyard while subsequently clearing your opponent's board. You pass turn, they play one land and next turn you exile your graveyard for a massive Psychatog swing.
Please tell me that he is deliberately mispronouncing all the card names for comment section engagement... Otherwise, this dude has never touched an MTG card and is just reading a script written by a mute friend who LOVES mtg and the lore, but life has cast a Silence on him.
I played the tutorial for MTG Arena, and I was way more interested from playing those five games than the tutorial of Master Duel, which is just….. bad. I think YGO is just so convoluted to its own detriment, and the YGO community is so elitist at times. God forbid you aren’t one of the million Wombo Combo Timmies playing combo decks. If you play stun or mill, especially stun, the entire community hates you except other non-combo players.
Devoid is fun because according to the rules they are always considered colorless. That being said, the new MH3 eldrazi commander makes it possible to have a five color deck that is TECHNICALLY a colorless deck as long as it's just devoid, colorless, and lands.
Based on what's leaked (and confirmed), Terravore might see a revival in usage once Modern Horizons III is released, as there's probably going to be a bit of focus of Lhurgoyf cards in mostly RGB. And for the record, Wizards of the Coast issed an official statement on April 30, 2024 confirming that those leaks were real.
nahiri's wrath can target players right? in the rules "players are planeswalkers having a duel" cuz if you had 4 of them in deck and filled your deck with high cost cards isn't it just a turn 3 win[except vs blue] there's no rulings at all
Hmm… interesting perspective. Arabian nights is the first expansion and should be 1st because it has the 10th piece of power if you know what that is and this is also around the time of side boarding getting added into the 10th edition of scry magazine on its release. Legends probably after that. Chronicals is impactful yes… I guess but for all the wrong reasons as you describe. I’d say 3rd edition, revised is probably also a close competitor for the number 1 slot. That’s when the game blew up… they printed so many of those damn cards and so many people wanted to play. The influence of that release can’t be understated.
Some others: Shadowmage Infiltrator: Psychatog's old partner in crime. Morphling: This was literally called "Superman" back in the day. It was THAT good. Spiritmonger: A 5 mana 6/6 with upside was INSANE back in the day.
I played yugioh as a kid, it was fun, i switched to magic after my collection was stolen. I recently went to try yugioh again, and wow, what a terribly boring and unskillful game. As long as you memorize your combo pieces and know how they function, you basically get one turn to play solitaire and kill your opponent. Yes there are negates and hand traps yada yada but they are so uninventive and boring they add absolutely nothing to the game because everyones negates and handtraps are identical. Magic is way better its not even close, so much more variety and inventive ways of playing the game, and unique interactions between cards AND between players. All the cards in yugioh basically do the same thing with different names. Yugioh is seriously not even in the same realm as magic as a game.
10:58 You remove 3 counters from Saproling burst to swing for 12 immediately because the counters' Power/toughness are equal to the number of fading counters on sap burst. 6 damage from 6 bodies would be a poor use of the card in most cases.
I know you guys make a lot of videos and findingnthe right card can be an extra step but I'd appreciate for a video like this for you to use the old bordered versions of cards since that is the original defining part of retro cards vs modern cards.
"Invigorating Hot Spring" is still on Standard at the moment, is kinda similar to Fires of Yavimaya (maybe better imo) but only sees fringe play at most. I miss the time when the game was grindier. Nowadays everything is hyper aggressive or removal tribal, there is little space for janky cards on the competitive scene.
Why does the RU-vid algorithm ever list this channel to anyone that plays Magic? After watching three of these videos it's painfully obvious that whomever runs this channel has no knowledge of the game. They can't even bother to read the Phyrexian Negator and Phyrexian Obliterator cards. What a joke.
