This is awesome! We could really use a simulate play button at least in the prefab world. Workflow is really clunky without it especially when there are server issues like in this vid.
Where the fuck is my Unreal game with those graphics? You think we don't see those Unreal Tournament 4 textures all over this space ship. Those textures are lifted straight out of the first arted up map y'all did.
Great concept with a lot of potential for story-telling; however, UEFN is lacking a MAJOR detail which prevents many creators from pushing the envelope with this technology: *Custom Player Rigging & Animations*. If you want to create a Fortnite experience that is completely detached from the regular gameplay loop, you're forced to forego the player character completely and replace it with a custom model. Other live service games, e.g. Roblox, give you immense customization by allowing creators to assign gameplay animations to player characters to suit the game they're making. UEFN does not have this functionality and neither does the Verse API. It may not seem like a big deal at first, but players put major time, effort, and money into the game for cosmetic items with the expectation they'll be able to use it anywhere in Fortnite. UEFN already has the functionality to allow for unique community games (*Shape Your Beats* comes to mind). However, until creators are given the ability to edit and/or replace player gameplay animations, the majority of custom game modes will continue to be FFA/deathmatch clones, with the occasional walking simulator.
