Why don't people use the material used for wrist pins throughout engines. I've seen hundreds of blown engines and only one with a destroyed wrist pin lol

I'm literally just taking this off my car this weekend, mines LS swapped and even with some 300 cell cats in it's loud, particularly at idle. I suspect this is mostly due to the displacement difference (stroked LS3). It's a shame because it's a nice piece!

Hello, how much power do you run on the track? And how is the turbo lag with pure 800?

We run full power on track (~580bhp on pump fuel) and there isn't really any lag as such. It comes on boost by around 3000rpm and is quick to respond above those revs. Very impressive turbo.

Difficult to say without direct comparison - the V3s are fantastic as road/track, these are far more aimed at track use.

Nice one , I’ve got Bilstein B6 damptronics with eibach pro springs , m4 lca and ts , under chassis brace , strut brace , yellow subframe inserts , did you manage to do any research on the silicone inlet pipe , to see if it has any benefits over the standard intake pipe with the Helmholtz resonator Thanks 👍

Very nice!!! I ran AST 3-way on my old Skyline, had absolutely no idea how to set them up but they rode much nicer on the road than the Tein race shocks the car came with from Japan. They failed to make me any less slow but can't blame them for that! Did you get any lap times? Would be really useful if you could show us how the times improve with mods 👌👌👍👍

They are absolutely epic! Afraid not on the lap times - last time we were at Brands the car was very different, so wouldn't be of much use anyway sadly.

At the time we were running an EBC 4-piston front BBK, stock rears, with EBC pads all round, HEL lines and Millers fluid. All available on our website. We've since upgraded to the 6-piston EBC front BBK, which is even more epic!

I know the car. My son owned it before the previous owner. He loved it. New baby forced sale. He got the rod bearings done and put on the wheel spacers. Hope you enjoy it.

How much is ethanol in the UK? Did you ever measure 100-200 km/h?

It's pricey, about £4/litre for E85 race fuel. We will be tuning for ethanol in the coming weeks now that weather is improving here

Trying to find out size of front anti roll bar as I want powerflex bushes for the oem one. Been told elsewhere its 22mm. Yet powerflex dont sell a 22mm. You say its 25 tapers to 22. So Im guessing thats the answer. Powerflex fdo a 24mm, 25mm and 30mm. Guess I go for 25mm.

I did the subframe bushes a few months before the diff bushes on my m140 and tbh I didn't notice much difference with the subframe bushes but it was when I did the diff bushes that I really noticed the improvement in handling. They just seem to leave you with a clearer picture of how much grip is left in the rear tyres. As you say, that makes the car more predictable.

Go billet subframe bushes, no real world difference to poly in terms of NVH.

Did this with KDT917 Whiteline bushes on my old E92 335i and current M235i and it makes a huge difference to the handling and stability and also improves the steering.

Any pointers for those looking to push the b48 internals? Ivr been told changing just the piston heads is good enough for 600wtq before rods need changing? Specifically the 11.0.1 compression b48s the the 20i

All depends on what fuel you're using. High ethanol content will be needed to avoid knock - knock always kills an engine in no time. Usually the weakpoint with B48s is the ringlands (though similar story with most engines!). Put some forged rods and pistons in there, and you'll be capable of more - the real tricks lay in the cylinder head flow if you want big power without massive boost.

@@hackengineering5586 thank you, so deffo changing piston head with a forged piston kit will have no issues really if LSPI occurrs cause there tough pistons😁, true i can do a rods also if im looking for big big power! Ill bd running uk pump fuel premium only so 99 ron tesco, v power esso etc Could you give me a little more info when your referring to cylinder head flow please.. ivr been recommended to keep the stock 11.0.1 compression and run a turbo with abit lag due to efficient and fast spoolin the stock compression is

@@Reaper_f30 you will be knock limited on premium fuel at 11:1, get some ethanol in there and you'll be away! Stock head is quite restrictive if you want to really push it.

@@hackengineering5586 thank you sounds good, as you know ethanol in uk can be a pain as you need to fill with bottles or manually due to no e85 being at petrol station What about those water methanol injection kits, hokd 3 litres of methanol and spray into the fuel system if im not correct? Same effect as ethanol right?

@@Reaper_f30 essentially yes, however it's not very well metred or monitored like the injectors and so we tend to see them being troublesome if you're relying heavily on them for fuelling. Whereas using ethanol in the standard system is tightly controlled and monitored by the ECU. We have done 900+bhp S55s with proper port WMI injectors rather than nozzles. But straightforward ethanol content is a winner.

Unlikely to be necessary. But we generally always advise a capture plate at minimum.

never knew the n54 had 2 catastrophic failure points, does the bolt capture actually do anything i heard if the belt slips with the capture on it will unthread the crank hub bolt from the crank shaft entirely.

Depends on the turbo, fuel used, tuning goals etc. We used the B58TU pump here, but have since upgraded to a Dorch DS25. Both are available on our website!

@@lukespringer7619 the limit of a TU fuel pump on pump fuel is around 560/570bhp. With the DS25 we're hoping to push well into the 600s on pump fuel, and much more on ethanol blends.

I've got some serious wheel vibration under light braking on my e90, I thought it was warped discs until I've watched this.... Do you think it could be arms on mine? The only difference is that when I brake hard the vibration disappears.... 🤔
