this has value beyond measure to me. attended the retreat back in 2009 when he was giving the dhamma talks. fortunately someone recorded it and so i went to the retreat about 8 times through those recordings. up until now. THANK. YOU.
@@dmitrypopov4936 these videos are much better qualitywise and the content is more or less the same. tan dhammavidu has evolved as a speaker since 2009 :)
I absolutely love this. The most inspiring show of strength through your jump backs and forwards. Love your editing and choice of music. I will watch this over and over. A beautiful 3 minutes. Thank you.
This was such a profound and colorful story of David’s life. As someone who has practiced ashtanga, I too have been searching for something - but in vain. It makes perfect sense now. Practice and all is coming. Thank you David. This really inspired me.
Could you please make a transcript of this video? It is very, very difficult to hear what he is saying, even at a high volume setting on desktop speakers.
Please don't mind my English, I really love what David shares in his talk. I try to type it out. 54:57 till the end. "What made one thing spiritual than another thing? Spiritual reality is not determined by the practice. Otherwise, the spiritual is determined by the focus, the intention and the action of practitioner. The practice that we do, whatever it is the chanting, meditating, doing Vinyasa that is just the gardener is tilling the soil and creating fertile an earth. That’s all the practice does. Spiritual reality and awareness and mutuality of understanding are what we plant on that fertile ground. So the more practice we do the fertile we are. So what is going to happen to person who does a lot of practice and then what if they drop the eager seed on that ground? You are going to grow the bigger one than average person. So we need to very aware, very conceive to what the seed we plant on the ground. So you plant the wrong thing, it’s also going to grow. So I’m going to wrap this up, a little definition of Yogi, simple thing. A yogi is one who come a place just a little bit nicer than when they arrived. I like this definition. It doesn’t mean that yogi needs to do the third series or more series or whatever, who cares if they can do a lot of stuff but they are nasty and be horrible person at the rest of the day. It’s our interaction and everything we do at our life, every action, every step, it likes dropping the pebble onto the pool, water that creates power the energy. We create this vibration that coming from us. We have to ask our self. It is positive or negative vibration coming from our body. Is the world the better place by our present? May we all one day in our life to become a yogi."
This is the full video. Apart from a few moments when the evenings public talk was referred to, this is the complete conversation. But the bigger subject that TDV is touching on, is expanded here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5ZGKdiOoOYU.html
Great video. Kurmasana is definitely the asana, in the primary series, that is the most challenging for my body, I actually find it harder to do properly than supta kurmasana. O.o Love the choice in music and the "psychedelic" ending was awesome. 👍 ^_^
+Lucian Corvus Thanks :) We have better angle on that jump, and with the other footage we shot, I plan to make another video just of Jumps. Watch this space!
Absolutely WONderful talk. I have been to Suan Mokkh, MANY years ago, (either '91 or '94) but never seen nor heard of TDV before! Again, truly a wonderful communicator. STRONGLY HOPING THAT THE REST OF THE HK TALKS WILL FOLLOW THIS ONE SOON through to the end!! Thank you so much! ;-]
+1Aaronymous Thanks for commenting, and I'm so glad you appreciate the video. l will be uploading another talk every weekend. Talk two is already up, if you haven't seen it yet? To my mind, he got better as the days went on. Now that we have dispensed with the necessary practical stuff about the meditation method etc., he moves into the psychology and philosophy of Buddhism. Thanks again.
+AshtangaYoga HongKong -- EXcellent! Yes .. I see that there are two offerings taken from the July 12th second talk. Thank you. I'll be very much looking forward to the further material. Have been strongly recommending them online and they are much appreciated. THANK you for your efforts in this. My Best to you.
Thank you, AYHK, for recording and uploading these, and thank you, Tan Dhammavidu, for the time you invest into these talks. Each one provides a new perspective and a unique insight. They are clear, concise and truly life changing.
+MaxVirtual1 Thanks for commenting, really appreciate that you appreciate. For TDV and I, it was (and still is for me) a labour of love. For him, HK was quite a hardship, and for me just the many, many hours. But definitely worth it. I will try to get the next talk finished and uploaded in a week or so. Watch this space...
