My 69 VW won't start. Not getting two lights either. So I was told that the starter wire maybe have fallen off the starters which, from your video is behind the rear right wheel. Any advice for me? appreciate your insight.
So when you replace the starter the bushing stays inside the transmission? The SR17X says, "This starter is compatible with all air-cooled cars with auto-stick or fully automatic transmissions." I have a 1971 that is manual, your saying this is still compatible with a manual transmission?
I did not remove the starter bushing. And yes this is comparable with manual transmission. My bus in this video is manual and I used this automatic starter. The only difference is no bushing is required. I explain the difference at 8:50
There’s a cliff dumbass, imagine pushing it on all fours and it rolling... still would be damaged either way, and how would they have pushed it on all fours ? the side they need to push is on the cliff
@@aloharx2776 yup. Idk why so many people are talking shit. Truck was toast for the most part already. If they flipped it on all fours it would have rolled off the edge. Unfortunately there really wasn’t any other way to go about this other than the way they did
Hi Kyle. I have 1961 Bus and SR17 installed when I had problem with old starter 2nd time. It's been working great so far. Thank you for sharing. You explained very well in your video and showing how bushing is supporting the starter motor. By the way, I want to use short part (about 10 to 20 seconds) of your video in my video if you don't mind. I want to use around 9:21 in your video where you explain about the old starter and bushing. I want to talk about what the starter bushing is, in my Bus video. I hope you don't mind. Thank you very much. Toshi Tagawa
Hey! I am glad you enjoyed the video and I am glad the video helped you :) that was my goal in making it. Feel free to use any part of the video as you need. Appreciate you asking. Cheers!
not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new movies on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother for the last few months =)
Pretty cool channel. Keep the posts coming. I’m first car was a 1970 Beetle back in 1992. Now at 42 and I have a 1965 Beetle. VW will always be in your blood. 😬✌️
Chip Litchfield no problem! Glad you liked it. It was a really awesome event. It would be great if you were able to make it out some time. I’m sure you would love it
